Both tasty and informative tour

We enjoyed both the chocolate and the guide's extensive knowledge. He was great. It was not too far to walk and there were restroom opportunities. There was adequate time at each stop. I would have brought a bottle of water with me if it was suggested ahead of time.

Based on the website my wife and I decided to take this tour. Our tour guide (Bert) is who really made the tour worth while. He was both knowledgeable and fun to chat with. We went to five different high-end chocolatiers andr eceived tastes at each place along with some history lessons. The tour was a bit on the pricey side. However, we had fun and would recommend it to anyone who loves chocolate.

This tour was a lot of fun. Lots of amazing chocolate, a great group ambiance and some nice strolling along Fifth Avenue and the Upper East Side. Each shop had incredible chocolate, and it was great to learn about the different techniques and styles for making good chocolate. Overall a great, fun, original thing to do in the city. Can't wait to go back and try their other tours!

Fun eating/drinking tour

The chocolate, wine and pastry tour was very enjoyable in part due to our wonderful guide, Bert. The shops we visited were very interesting and the chocolate was beautiful to look at. However, I am a basic type of chocolate person and there was little to tempt me, but what I did taste was very good. The pastries were great as was the wine. I cannot stress, however, that this tour is a lot of walking - blocks and blocks and blocks of walking. I know the information said there is walking and wear comfortable shoes, but it was more than I anticipated. I was just glad our day was somewhat of a cool one. The stop at the organic chocolate factory was very interesting as was the owner who graciously told us whatever we wanted to know about how she made her chocolate. I would recommend this to persons who are chocoholics. My friend who went with me is a chocoholic and loved all of it!

My daughter and I had a wonderful time on this tour. Our guide was very friendly, very informative about chocolate and regaled us with many fun facts and anecdotes. The sample choclates were exquisite. I purchased chocolates from Mirabelle and La Maison du Chocolate to take home with me. I would highliy recommend this tour to my friends if they were going to visit Manhattan. I will definetely take the other chocolate tours offered when I visit Manhattan again. I would also look for Zerve tours in other cities that I may visit.

I got pretty sick fro all the chocolate= the guide was good, but the chocolate was too rich- I thnk if you charged less and just offered one piece of chocolate per location, it would be better

This was a great way to taste wonderful chocolate and see the sights of Soho. Burt was a wonderful tour guide and we learned so much about chocolate and the area we were touring. He was very fun, personable and able to answer any questions about the city. This is a great way to explore NYC in a non traditional way. I highly recommend this tour. Prepare yourself for some mouth watering chocolate!!!

My 2 friends and I had a blast on the luxury chocolate tour, and it was mostly due to our awesome guide, Bert. He was super friendly and personable, very knowledgeable and easy-going. We went to 5 chocolate shops and each one was excellent. We received 2 samples of chocolate at each - well worth the price of the tour. If you have a larger group (we had 10), allow 2.5 to 3 hours for the tour. It was a unique and delicious new way to discover NYC. Good times!

I am an avid chocoholic and loved this tour. It took me to some usual locations in New York City and I experienced some very tasty treats. The tour guide was great. He made it a lot of fun. He was very knowledgeable about the chocolate and New York City. This tour does involve some walking if you are not used to that.

I brought my girlfriend for her Birthday. She is passionate about chocolate and I wanted to do something that she would get something out of. She had a great time and although she knows a lot about chocolate she still learned a lot. Myself, not being nearly as studied on the topic had a great time as well.

A wonderfully pleasant experience

We didn't know quite what to expect, but it turned out to be one of the true highlights of our visit to New York. Our tour guide (Bert) made the expereince even more enjoyable with his humor, his knowledge, and his genuinely friendly attitude. He came across as a true chocolate lover and eager to share his passion. Moreover, he conveyed facts with an informal yet interesting style. To put it simply we were super impressed with him. We plan to return to New York in June with our nieces and high on our "to do" list is this tour. We can't wait to share it with them. Finally, we learned enough from Bert about chocolate that we purchased several varieties of drinking and sipping chocolates to try here at home. Of curse, we also had to bring home a supply of the eating variety too. We would (and already have) enthusiastically recommend this tour to anyone with even the slightest interest in chocolate or in just having a pleasant afternoon.

A Great Birthday Present

The choice of shops was great! It was really interesting to see so many places that I did not know existed even after living in NYC for so many years. It was great to pass by the Lindt and Godiva shops without so much of even a mention. The tour guide was friendly and knew a lot about chocolate. I would suggest this to New Yorkers and visitors as a great "beneath the surface" was to explore NYC.

I took my wife on this tour as part of an anniversary celebration trip to New York. It was wonderful. Bert, our tour guide, was knowledgeable about not only chocolate, but also about the history behind each of the shops we visited. I would definitely attend another tour. The chocolate samples were delectable. My only complaint is we could not have more!

For two chocoholics, we were in chocolate heaven. Curt our tour guide was waiting for us inside the first store. We lucked out and had a private tour, since the other group had cancelled. That was good news for us, but not for Curt. I'm sure our tip didn't help him much, hopefully he got some of the $70 from our tickets. The price was nearly twice that of the Foods of NY tour we took the next day. For the money, this one was not worth it. Although we really enjoyed it, it was pricey. We went to 5 high end chocolate shops. Curt knew everything about making chocolates and knew each shop owner. He gave personal recommendations, but we were able to select two chocolates from each shop. We also got hot chocolate in one shop and sipping chocolate in another, as well as a cupcake. We weren't able to eat it all and started wrapping it to go near the end. It was a great tour, but if you only have time for one - I recommend the Food of NY tours - either Greenwich Village or Chelsea Meatpacking District.
