pretty good time

Took the gf for her bday - she loved it. I'm not much of a chocolate fan, but there were some delicious treats, interesting stops and leftovers to take home (tough to eat all the chocolate they provide). Our tour guide was great. I didn't love walking around midtown east in a group of nine people on a Saturday though. Certainly worth it otherwise.

Great Experience

My wife and I went on the European Chocoloate Tour as a gift for her birthday. My wife really enjoys chocolate and I thought this would be a great way to spend an afternoon. It turned out to be a great decision and we both had a wonderful time - here is why. First, our guide (Bert) was really awesome. He was engaging and informational, knew everyone at the shops and was just very pleasant to spend two hours with. Second, it was fun walking around trying different cholocates and learning why various countries have a different approach which leads to different tastes. Third, our guide was awesome. Seriously, I have been on many of these types of tours (various cities throughout the world and in the US and in different formats) but the single most important aspect is the tour guide. Plus, you are guaranteed to get Bert because he does all the tours. You will have a great time for a very reasonable price. We followed-up by going to a wine bar then out to dinner. I make this point to highlight that you don't gouge yourself on chocolate but you get enough great and different tastes to enjoy the event. I promise, I am not always so complimentary when I provide these reviews. This just happened to be a very good experience.

Lots of fun and yummy

This was a birthday surprise from my husband who is well aware that I am a serious chocoholic. It was a perfect way to celebrate, with a little exercise in between the tastings. Although we know quite a bit about good chocolate, we learned more and truly enjoyed all the tastings. I would recommend this tour for anyone who loves chocolate and/or interesting sweets. The length was just right, and the variety of shops we visited provided an insight into a section of Manhattan that we usually do not frequent.

Loved this tour more tradtional chocolates and was able to see the history. Bert our tour guide was wonderful. Enjoyed it so much that I booked the Soho NEw Cuisine chocolate tour the next day. Two very different types of flavor not to mention style. if you are serious about chocolate you should take this tour. Tina Martinez

Good for tourists, not for locals

Our guide was fun and the chocolate was good, but not sure this was worth the high price tag. The tour advertises that it is through the upper east side, but you never get higher than 59th. Also, I thought I would be shown hidden gems in NY, but 2 of the shops were in major department stores.

This was our second tour and we had just as much fun as our first. What could be better than tasting deliciously different chocolates on a beautiful day while strolling through the NYC? In addition, Bert our guide was not only knowledgeable about the ins and outs of chocolate but also knows his fair share about the neighborhoods we walk through. I would recommend this to anyone who is a little adventurous but mostly just wants to have fun and taste some really good chocolate.

Thank you for a wonderful chocolate tour. We took the New Asian Chocoloate tour and were surprised at how much we learned. Our tour guide Bert was very informed and open to questions. We were taken to some of the most wonderful chocolate places and found ourselves savoring some of the best chocolate tastes--and found stores we didn't even know existed! Thank you again. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a new and fun experience--and a taste of the best chocolate in the Big Apple!

A spontaneous day trip to NYC with a friend found us looking online for something different to do. We happened across the ad for Zoom's Chocolate, Wine & Culture Walking Tour. What could be more fun than that?!! We signed up easily by calling Zerve and were told to meet the group in front of Starbucks. We arrived a bit early and there was no sign of a group. We went into the Starbucks and asked if anyone knew where the group met. No one had ever heard of it, so we thought perhaps we'd been scammed (such skeptics). We waited inside a few minutes until I spotted a young man with a messenger bag over his shoulder right there on the corner!! (Yay! Not a scam!) We met Bert, our guide, and the other "tourists", 10 in all, and were on our way. Bert is a delightful, knowledgeable, easy going guide and we had great fun. Three hours of walking, talking, and tasting went by very quickly. We would recommend this tour to anyone (not kids younger than say 16) who would enjoy an insider's view of some yummy and fascinating boutique chocolate stores!

Fantastic Christmas Treat to Ourselves
Fri, Dec 21, 07   12:00 PM EHardwick Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
We decided to do this as part of our Christmas Trip to NYC. What a fantastic tour. We felt like New Yorkers going to places they would only know about. I especially like Marie Belle Chocolates where you had to ring a bell to go upstairs, and the shop was decorated with French Provincial furniture. It was a delightful surprise. All the chocolate we tasted was delicous.

There was nothing that could have made this tour any better' The tour guide was both knowledgeable and knew how to lead a tour, something that so many guides cannot do;

Enjoyed the experience

Had a good time and enjoyed our guide very much. We were informed that a cheescake stop was recently added to the tour. Great idea, but I wish it was later in the tour. We weren't "chocolated" out yet when we got there ( 2nd stop), but I liked the idea of mixing things up! My only other comment was that the tour ended pretty far away from the first shop ( was thinking we'd end up where we started) and ended up having to walk all the way back to the first shop where we left our car. Would be a good idea to set expectations that it's not an insignificant trip back to the first shop and a cab might be a good idea if you didn't get there by train or subway originally. We had a good time and would recommend it to others.

Marvelous Guide, Glorious Chocolate
Sat, Oct 13, 07   3:30 PM duffer Female 20-29 Local Group of Friends
An energetic personable guide briefed our group of thirteen on the afternoons planned excursion. Five shoppes were chosen to visit. The chocolate shop stops included vinettes on chocolates lore, production and qualities. Each shop had something unique to offer, including of course two difficult to choose chocolates! We were also treated to chocolate specialty drinks at two of the shoppes. A lovely treat was meeting some of the shoppe owners. They were charming, informative and passionate about their work. Uniquely different is the only way to describe the ambiance and decor of each shoppe. The walks were short with available stops for water purchase and respite. Our afternoon was enhanced by our guide, Burt, who was genuine, honest, and had planned the time well.
