Midtown Chocolate tour
Fri, Jun 22, 07   11:00 AM adinamish Female 50-59 International Tourist(s) Individual
first, apologies for the very long delay in writing; this does not at all reflect ANY negative feelings about the tour. I am a born-and-bred New York who now lives in Israel and joined the tour on a recent visit to NY. The Friday tour I joined had about 6 people, as I recall, all women. The guide (can't recall his name now, apologies) was wonderful - very friendly, patient, enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and most important - a true chocoholic. Even tho I eat kosher, I found the data I received (and the chocolatiers we visited) sufficiently informative to know which items I could taste and which not - and I was able to enjoy samples in every store, so didn't feel 'left out' at all! The tour was one of the most fun parts of my visit to NY and even tho I lived there all my life till I moved to Israel, this introduced me to a fun and delicious part of NY I never would've been able to learn about or visit in such a coordinated, informative and delicious way! The price seemed a bit steep at first, but given the (generously) large number of samples we enjoy, and their retail cost, it really wasn't that painful an investment at all. Highly recommended!

Nice tour for chocolate lovers

We took a Sunday tour and had a nice time. As other individuals had cancelled, my wife and I were the only ones on the tour. We appreciated the fact that they did not cancel the tour on us and our guide gave us a private tour. She was excellent and very informative. We enjoyed the tastings. The one negative that we had was a lack of interaction with the staff or owner of the shops we visited. While our guide was great, it would have been nice to get another perspective on their business. The lack of communication with the shops staff resulted in the only drawback of being the only two people on the tour. Out tastings went very fast and tour did not last near as long as the described time on the brouchere. It would have been nice to spread out the chocolate tastings a little bit. We would have enjoyed the chocolate more.

I realize time is a contraint in these types of tours but it would have been nice to experience some of the more unique stores in Soho as part of this experience. Bert did a great job for us and provided great knowledge and insight.

Our tour guide was very energetic and knowledgable about chocolate. It was fun checking out these quaint and almost "under the radar" hot spots. She kept the mood light and her eclectic background made for stimulating conversation. Highly recommended!

Great chocolate with interesting flavor infusions

Tour guide had great stories about each chocolate shop. Chocolate choices were anything from plain dark or milk chocolate to chili infused dark chocolate. I enjoyed experimenting with new flavors--you'll be suprised what tastes good in chocolate.

It was a very nice trip, learning about the chocolate. It's good to have fine chocolate with different flavors. It feels fresh and awsome! And the guide, did a great job, she was lively and she obviously enjoys doing this.

Amazing . . . A Must Do!

I HIGHLY recommend the NYC Luxury Chocolate Tour! It's a must do for both tourists and NYers. It's definitely worth the price. Once you taste these chocolates . . . you won't want to go back to the stuff you buy in the grocery store! Be adventurous and try things you wouldn't necessarily try. We had chocolate with basil and olive oil and chocolate infused with rose petals. Both were delicious. Our tour guide Bert was the absolute best! He was knowledgeable and just plain fun. I'd love to take another tour with him again one day. Now . . . stop reading this and go buy your ticket!

A Great Birthday Treat for a Friend
Sat, Jun 2, 07   12:00 PM 440east Female 50-59 Local Group of Friends
Our leader, Bert, made the tour most enjoyable; he was very knowledgeable & personable. He also gave us his own personal opinions along with the info for each stop. I bought this tour as a surprise birthday gift for my friend; we are both chocoholics. She had no clue why we were meeting at Saks, but was elated when we met the group to begin our tour. We were able to sample two pieces at each of our five stops. An extra added treat was our second stop at "Le Maison Du Chocolat" where we also sampled some sorbet. We had a nice mixture of people in our group and had many laughs & a good time. I feel that Bert made our tour very special!

It was such a great experience. It was perfect day for an outing for me and my 2 best friends. We absolutely love chocolate so we really enjoyed ourselves. My girlfriend thought is was the perfect birthday gift. We haven't stopped talking about it and we would highly recommend it. Carmen, I just want to say keep doing what you are doing. It is very evident that you have a passion for this. Enjoy the rest of your summer.. - Tasha D.

Great way to experience Midtown & well, chocolate

Our guide was really friendly and knowledgeable, he made time for each guest and was very conscientious of the warm day and was accommodating to requests for breaks - and stops at the ATM! This tour was a great way to experience chocolate in a way we wouldn't have otherwise, and to take a walking tour with an experienced guide was a real treat - just like having a friend in New York. Be sure to book the tour early in your schedule so you have time to go back and visit the places that were your favourites, not to mention all the high end stores you pass along the way. Highly recommended for any chocolate lover no matter how familiar you are with New York.

My friends are visiting from Istanbul Turkey, two of them are chocoholics! So when I saw the tour on the website, I thought this was perfect and very unique. The tour was fantastic, and the samples are to die for!! Highly Recommend.

A Memorable Memorial Day Tour!
Sun, May 27, 07   12:00 PM GordonR Male 40-49 International Tourist(s) Family With Children
We can't recommend this tour enough! We found the New Cuisine Tour on-line and since we like to take in culinary events whenever we are visiting somewhere interesting we chose your Chocolate Walking Tour. We've been telling all our friends that it was the highlite of our NY experience! Bert, our guide, was great fun: personable and extremely knowledgable. Though it was very hot over the Memorial Day weekend we were able to zip into one of the many chocolate shops to cool down and sample their wonderful specialties. Bert's idea of providing "cold pak bags" was brilliant as it allowed us to buy gifts for all our friends without worrying about them melting during the tour or before getting them back to our hotel. Our teenage guest also loved this tour so Thank You NYChocoTours for a thoroughly enjoyable introduction to the Chocolate Paved Streets of New York!

Do something FUN and DIFFERENT!

We loved our Chocolate Tour! My daughter works in SoHo and she never would have found these places on her own....it was so interesting on several different levels - mostly on the CHOCOLATE level! The "insiders" tips on the chocolate were right on and we enjoyed the company, the diversity of the flavors and the chance to really get in and enjoy the subject. Our guide was fun and interesting and he allowed us to pace ourselves, physically and chocolate-wise. Everyone we've told about it has said, "How fun! How interesting!" - and it was. A true Chocolate-Lover's DREAM! (Even my daughter uttered words I NEVER thought I'd hear fall from her lips at the end of the tour: "I think I'm all chocolate-d out!) Next trip I'm going to do the OTHER Chocolate Tour! :-)

Well worth the experience!!!!
Sat, May 26, 07   12:00 PM slinky_286 Female 30-39 International Tourist(s) Other
This was my first time in NY and the first tour I completed. I found the tour guide to be fun and informative and the group mix of people consisted of international and individuals from across the USA , with one common interest. LETS EAT CHOCOLATE!!!! Being able to walk from one store to another gave you the opportunity to speak to others and also take in the sites. The variety and differenc of the 5 stores visted made for a good cross section of sellers, so I was pleased to get to try different makers and blends of flavours. Of course the down side to the tour was we only got to sample 2 from each location!!!. This meant I had to buy more which was sooooo hard to do as I struggled to find the best ones as they all were so good.!!!! None the less I would highly recommended this tour to anyone ( which I already have) and I will do it again next time I visit NY. Thanks for a great experience and great chocolates to indulge myself with :)
