Great tour, very informative, learned a lot about the history of chocolate, where it is grown, how it evolved. Especially loved the tastings and pairing the chocolate with wine as well as the variety of types of chocolate and other pastries.
We have recommended this tour to several of our friends who would like to take the same tour when next they are in New York. |

Had a lot of fun, probably because, in order, (1) it was an activity of a type we would not normally be exposed to, and (2) it was interesting and informative with respect to its subject matter. As a resident, it would not normally occur to me to take a tour of anything. But there is a distinct and favorable difference between being taken on a tour and exploring something yourself. |

Obviously interesting as most people do not know a lot about chocolate.
The guide was superb. Very well informed on the subject and charming.
Hard to eat all the samples ( 30 $ worth of chocolate) in 2 hours. |

The two hour tour was a delight. I had heard of the various chocolate shops in New York but had never experienced them. Our guide, Burt, was enthusiastic and well informed. He had done his homework and was quite knowledgeable about chocolate. The samplings in the five shops were extraordinary--tasting everything from coconut to chipolte, traditional as well as more unusual flavors. This was a birthday present to my husband and we all enjoyed it. Creative and unique! |

I got tickets to this tour for my Dad for Christmas, knowing how much he loves and appreciates chocolate I thought this would be the perfect gift. It was. The tour guide, Bert, was both a delight to be around and remarkably knowledgable about chocolate and the histories of each of the locations we visited. There was great variety between the 5 chocolatiers we visited and they all had delicious chocolate. This would be a wonderful tour for anyone who enjoys chocolate! |

Great tour - well led, well paced, and with five unique and delicious stops. I highly recommend to foodies both from out of town and locals. |

This tour (the NYC Luxury Chocolate Tour) was my formal introduction to the theme of chocolate. Although I have tasted a LOT of chocolate throughout the years, it is the first time I have been instructed in the basics and amplitude of the subject. The walk was nice, as it takes place on the Upper East Side, although I would recommend this tour for a time when the city is less crowded. The chocolate tasting was absolutely fantastic. It is the best chocolate I have ever tasted, both in liquid and solid form. The information provided by the guide was detailed, practical and entertaining, although a little lacking in accuracy (one of the chocolatiers visited was hailed as the seller of the most expensive chocolate in the world, although I found out later in Forbes that it is not... it is one of the top ten, though) and he was very amenable, courteous and friendly. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and worth every penny. I will be doing the SoHo tour next time. |

Treat the women in your life (wife, girlfriend, mother, daughter, sister, spinster aunt, etc) to this tour and you will be highly regarded. They will forget for the moment that you are just winging it and have no idea what these wacky creatures called women really want from you except they do seem to like chocolate and if you can provide the good stuff then a multitude of sins are forgiven. Be a hero for a change. And you get tasty candy, some harmless exercise, and possibly learn something. |

I thoroughly enjoyed the Chocolate Tour that I took with my mom over the Thanksgiving holiday. Our tour guide was great - very knowledgeable and very relaxed. We got to enjoy two pieces of wonderful chocolate at each location and some of the BEST hot chocolate I've ever had in my life! I'll definitely be revisiting those chocolate shops on my next trip to the city! :) |

Tour was fine but overpriced.. 10 pieces of chocolate for $70 doesn't sound like a great deal, but you'll go places you might not have otherwise. |

I had purchased tickets as a gift for my wife's birthday, & we planned to go on the tour on Friday, November 2nd. Unfortunately, we had a family emergency & had to cancel. We thought we were just going to lose the tickets, but when my wife called to explain that we had to cancel, she was told that we could reschedule. We were very happy to be able to reschedule for Friday November 9th.
We had a wonderful time. It turned out that we were the only two on the tour.
Bert, our tour guide, was great - he made the tour both interesting, & fun. He was very knowledgable & informative. He has a wonderful personality & is perfectly suited for his position. He even made walking around New York City on a cold & rainy Friday afternoon a great experience. The chocolate shops that we visited were all very nice, & the chocolates were a chocoholic's dream.
We would like to take another tour in the future - posibly the chocolate & wine tour.
Thank you.

Burt met us on time and we hit it off from the beginning. His suggestions were great and his knowledge of chocolate, New York and the culinary scene was enjoyed and appreciated. We have recommended the tour to all our friends and hope to take other tours the next time we visit the city. |

What a lovely tour this was! We got to explore parts of New York not often on the visitor's plan, mainly the part between Little Italy and Soho, and learn some of the history and technique of chocolate making, all the while sampling some of finest (if not the finest) chocolates of New York.
We loved the fact that all 5 of the shops were so different from each other, and in the smaller shops got to meet the owners as well. There were so many options of flavors to choose from.
I would recommend bringing a small refrigerated bag with you if you go in hot weather, as you may want to bring some fo teh samples home for later tasting, and you certainly may wish to buy from the shops as you go...but either way, bring your appetite for chocolate as there will be more than enough of that for the day!
By the way, our guide was bert, and he was absolutely delightful. |
