A Memorable Memorial Day Tour!
Sun, May 27, 07   12:00 PM GordonR Male 40-49 International Tourist(s) Family With Children
We can't recommend this tour enough! We found the New Cuisine Tour on-line and since we like to take in culinary events whenever we are visiting somewhere interesting we chose your Chocolate Walking Tour. We've been telling all our friends that it was the highlite of our NY experience! Bert, our guide, was great fun: personable and extremely knowledgable. Though it was very hot over the Memorial Day weekend we were able to zip into one of the many chocolate shops to cool down and sample their wonderful specialties. Bert's idea of providing "cold pak bags" was brilliant as it allowed us to buy gifts for all our friends without worrying about them melting during the tour or before getting them back to our hotel. Our teenage guest also loved this tour so Thank You NYChocoTours for a thoroughly enjoyable introduction to the Chocolate Paved Streets of New York!

Do something FUN and DIFFERENT!

We loved our Chocolate Tour! My daughter works in SoHo and she never would have found these places on her own....it was so interesting on several different levels - mostly on the CHOCOLATE level! The "insiders" tips on the chocolate were right on and we enjoyed the company, the diversity of the flavors and the chance to really get in and enjoy the subject. Our guide was fun and interesting and he allowed us to pace ourselves, physically and chocolate-wise. Everyone we've told about it has said, "How fun! How interesting!" - and it was. A true Chocolate-Lover's DREAM! (Even my daughter uttered words I NEVER thought I'd hear fall from her lips at the end of the tour: "I think I'm all chocolate-d out!) Next trip I'm going to do the OTHER Chocolate Tour! :-)

Well worth the experience!!!!

This was my first time in NY and the first tour I completed. I found the tour guide to be fun and informative and the group mix of people consisted of international and individuals from across the USA , with one common interest. LETS EAT CHOCOLATE!!!! Being able to walk from one store to another gave you the opportunity to speak to others and also take in the sites. The variety and differenc of the 5 stores visted made for a good cross section of sellers, so I was pleased to get to try different makers and blends of flavours. Of course the down side to the tour was we only got to sample 2 from each location!!!. This meant I had to buy more which was sooooo hard to do as I struggled to find the best ones as they all were so good.!!!! None the less I would highly recommended this tour to anyone ( which I already have) and I will do it again next time I visit NY. Thanks for a great experience and great chocolates to indulge myself with :)

Sensual chocolate experience

Our very pleasant and informed guide took us to four SOHO chocolate shops. She explained the process of creating chocolate and what made each shop's offerings special. With her guidance, we tasted new flavor combinations. We purchased gourmet hot chocolate mixes and exotically flavored chips for baking. We were in chocolate heaven by the end of the tour!

Our adorable guide was extremely knowledgeable not only about the process of making chocolate, but about the history of the chocolatiers we visited. We gained a lot of information and probably a couple of pounds from the samplings!

When I signed up for this tour, I knew it would be fun, as well as yummy! You can't go wrong with chocolate, but the tour was so much more fun than I expected! I went by myself, and the tour guide and everyone else on the tour was so much fun...I felt like I had taken the tour with friends! I learned a lot about chocolate, and now I know what chocolate shops to go back to when I want some really good chocolate!! :)

Our group enjoyed the tour of the Soho chocolate "boutiques." Learning more about chocolate itelf, as well as the "stories" of the various shops we visited was very interesting. Our guide Carmen was knowledgeable and a lot of fun Plus the chocolate was divine!

Bert, our guide, was very knowledgeable and even provided some details which the chocolatiers didn't! He was very pleasant and enthusiastic about his job. I would definitely recommend the tour for people of all ages - there's something for everyone.

Tom and I toured five chocolate shops on the upper EAst side with eight other people from all over the world. Bert our guide kept up an informative commentary while setting a comfortable walking pace. A fun way to see, smell, taste and hear about chocolate!

Our guide, Burt, was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and really knew his chocolate, recommending his favorites as well as describing the choices that were available. All of the shops we visited greeted us cordially and we were treated to not only wonderful chocolate to sample, but lots of information about how their wonderful products are made. For lovers of chocolate this is a must.

Carmen was great, very helpful and nice. Be prepared to be indulgent and spoiled! My mom and I loved every minute of it. Be sure you use the bathrooms at Saks before the tour because there are no bathrooms on the tour. La Masion du Chocolat has the best chocolate. Try the caramel and mint ganache, amazing!

Definitely a fun thing to do on a Saturday afternoon. It was a beautiful day which made it very enjoyable. Nice walk around the UES and some good chocolates to go along with it. Made for a fun day and a memorable experience in Manhattan.

HAD A GREAT TIME!

Our guide was very knowledgable about chocolate -- I had no idea there was so much to learn! Her interaction with the group made it more fun -- she asked questions and got us involved in conversation instead of giving a lecture. My group was small (3) and that was really nice.

A Sweet Respite

The New Cuisine Chocolate Tour was a great way to spend a Sunday with family in town. Two hours is the perfect amount of time and there was just enough anecdote peppered with education to make the tour interesting and not at all boring. We made some amazing chocolate discoveries in Soho that will serve as invaluble outlets for gifts -- or just plain chocolate cravings. Carmen is fun and knowlegdeable and I think my family enjoyed her nearly as much as the creme brulee chocolate at Klee.
