| Learned more about quality chocolate that could be imagined. Every stop was truely an indulgence fit for kings, queens and emperors. Could one get too much chocolate? This tour will certainly get you on your way. Only the best of imported chocolates. We highly recomend this tour for any chocolate lover | ||||||

| I had a lot of fun on the chocolate tour and tasted some amazing chocolate. I'm currently living in New York and will be visiting many of the places we toured again. The only downside is that it was very expensive. Given that many of the hot chocolate tastings were only sample-size I feel the tour was a bit overpriced. Not that I needed more hot chocolate - I felt the sizes were fine, just that the prices didn't match. But our tour guide, Burt, was very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. Overall, a good time was had. | ||||||

| So many tours are available, this one is so unique we just HAD to try it. The guide is fabulous, inserting tidbits of New York information along the way. It was well worth the time and money. The stores visited were wonderful and the chocolate was divine. (My husband doesn't like chocolate, and he LOVED the tour!) Thanks for the wonderful experience, one of my New York highlights. | ||||||

| For anyone who has the time, I highly suggest taking both this tour and the Luxury Tour so you can see the dichotomy of the types of places that are in NYC and the types of shops that are becoming popular. I loved three of the shops, one I was not too hot on but thats just personal snobbery preference for chocolate. The tour is much shorter than the Luxury tour, but no less interesting or flavorful. The tour guides are knowledgeable and interesting to talk to and not snobby or arogant, which you can get from the other food tours in the city. Highly suggested for anyone who is a tourist or a NYC native, it's a good break from the normal tourist junk. The area in which this tour places you at the finish can be great for spending the rest of your day as well. | ||||||

| We had such a good time! Our guide Burt was pleasant and extremely knowledable about the nuances of chocolate. The tour covered different aspects of chocolate making and its history; the sampling was educational ...and delicious. I would recommend this tour and Burt to anyone visiting New York. | What a great tour! The weather was awesome for late Feb and our tour guide, Burt, was super friendly while he shared some truly interesting facts about chocolate. The only place that was less worth it than the others was D&G where the chocolate was just okay, but I guess it's all about the experience of trying chocolate that costs more per piece than the cab ride back to my hotel! Loved, loved, loved RichArt and the other stops were also amazing. I bought way more chocolate than I ever thought I would. Just a great overall experience that I would recommend to anyone looking for something special and different to do in NYC. Beautiful job, Burt!!! Thanks for so much fun!! | ||||||

| My daughter, who lives in New York, bought us, my husband & I, tickets for the tour, for my birthday. We had a wonderful time! We learned alot. I have always LOVED chocolate, but this tour was very interesting. Bert, the tour guide, was awesome! He knows so much about this tour, & about New York! He was wonderful! We told our daughter to take this with a group of friends.............they would love it! We have told everyone about it, & since she lives there, she is going to tell her friends & the people she works with! Tell Bert, for us, thanks again, for a great time! | This was a wonderful tour! Our guide, Bert, was very knowledgeable, articulate and infectiously enthusiastic. The samples provided by each chocolatier were delicious, artistic, and/or creative -- and they were all so passionate about their offerings. Thanks for an unusually worthwhile experience! | ||||||

| We were looking for something to do other than the usual New York shopping and shows. The tour included a well versed guide who enjoyed the art of chocolate and some delicious tastings in the finest chocolate shops in the city. Although pricey, the tour provided 2 pieces of chocolate of your choice at 5 different shops, all with different specialities. More chocolate than I was able to sample during the tour but wrapping it to go was not an issue, and my estimation is that we received almost the full amoung paid for the tour in chocolate samples. Well worth the experience and lovely people on the tour as well. We enjoyed talking to people from overseas and mingling with others. The walking part wasn't too difficult either as the locations were all pretty close in proximity. Great way to spend a few hours! | ||||||

| It was a super cold day in NYC (9 degrees), so our group was very small. Carmen took us to five really wonderful chocolatiers. Charbonnel et Walker was our first stop inside of Saks 5th Ave. Everyone was super nice and helpful. They are a British chocolatier so the aromas and flavors are very sweet and different. I bought a box. Next was La Maison Dur Chocolat at Rockefeller Center. Great presentation and chocolates. Definitely try both the milk and dark hot chocolate. It's like nothing you've ever had! They were out of the specific bars to melt for the hot chocolate so they are shipping me all of the ingredients and recipe next week. Of course, I also bought a box. Next stop was Richart. Very clean inside, very modern feel. The chocolates are very special. There are layers inside the outer coating; basil and tarragon, lavender, saffron, vanilla and grape, lime and grapefruit (to name a few). I could not leave there without buying a box! Next was Martine's inside Bloomies. It was not one of my favorite stops because there was a very stereotypical French feel inside. It didn't feel very welcoming. However, the chocolates are amazing and they make them fresh every day right there in the shop. So, you kind of have to let the whole atmosphere part of it go and just buy a box, which I did. Our last stop was quite special. Debauve & Gallais on East 69th. They also make their chocolates fresh. D&G was started around 260 years ago by the chemist of Marie Antoinette and Napoleon. They were the only French chocolatier allowed to use the seal of the Royal Family. The seal is on every box and it's quite beautiful. Check out their website for more details. It is the most expensive I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot of chocolate. Around $500 for a box of 36. I was able to get a small box of a very tasty assortment for $110. It was worth every penny. I learned a lot on this tour. Not only were the chocolatiers extremely giving but also Carmen knows what she's talking about. She is filled with knowledge and can really tell you what to look for while tasting. Most of us just eat about four pieces before we know it and don’t savor each bite. This will make you slow down a bit and see why this is such an art. I had a really great time! What about all that chocolate I bought? Well, four of my closest friends are coming over Friday night and we are having an evening of wine and chocolate by the fire. One final note. There is a bit of walking involved in the tour and Carmen is more than happy to modify the tour for your needs so don't be shy in asking. I would suggest sticking with the tour offered even if you have to grab a cab and get from one location to another. Don't miss this. It's really a wonderful afternoon! | ||||||

| If I hadn't taken this tour, it wouldve taken me forever to think of how to find these great chocolatiers in NYC. The tour was great and our tour guide was supurb. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who is a foodie or just a chocolate lover. There is ALOT of walking, but its a good way to burn off all of those calories. This is also a great way to sample expensive chocolates that you probably wouldn' normally buy. I think they might be beetr suitted removing the first stop in Saks 5th Avenue and adding a different location. Their products were mediocre compared to the rest. Michel Richard's chocolates are beyond amazing. | ||||||
