Very fun and tasty!

I set the tour up for my wife who LOVES chocolate ... I think I ended up enjoying the tour as much as she did. It was good learning where some of the top chocolateers in the city are, not to mention tasting some great chocolates. Tour guide was very nice and informative.

Absolutely Fabulous!!

I picked out this tour for my girlfriend because as a New Yorker, I knew she'd never done anything like this before, and since she loves chocolate, I thought she'd really enjoy it. Bert (our guide) was fabulous! He was friendly, knowledgeable and fun to hang out with for those two and a half hours. Our group was small, only 8 of us total, and it was the perfect size.We learned so much about chocolate we'll never be able to look at it the same again! I sincerely recommend this tour as something fun to do on a Saturday afternoon. It was everything I hoped it would be, and more! She absolutely loved it! Now we want to do the downtown tour!!

Loved the small chocolate boutiques
Sat, Feb 14  4:00 PM bigfred Male 30-39 Combination Couple on a Date
We loved the tour because most of the stores were small chocolate boutiques that we probably would not have found out about unless someone told us about them. We especially loved the chocolate cheesecake at Eileen's Special Cheesecakes. We enjoyed learning about the history of the stores and chocolate in general. The only bad parts were at the beginning when another tour came through the same store at the same time ours started and it made for tight quarters. I also think we probably could have gotten a couple more pieces of chocolate at each store, and maybe cut out the first store to make our time spent at each store longer.

Our guide, Bert, was welcoming and solicitous throughout the tour, and he was very helpful about other places to see in New York. The chocolates were out of this world.

My Mother & I were in NYC for a week as a "Mother's Day" gift to ourselves ! We had been to the City several times over the years & I heard about this tour on TV. After internet search, found the SoHo tour & was so glad we picked that one ! Burt was terrific, it ended up being just the 3 of us -- which was also great ! Kees was my favorite stop, We had no idea tasting chocolate could be so fasinating. Burt did an EXCELLENT job as guide. And we 2 southern belles were so glad we came on a tour right after his "tour from H#%$ " to improve the course of his day !! We had a great time, had some WONDERFUL chocolate & would highly recommend the tour.

I am an avid chocoholic and loved this tour. It took me to some usual locations in New York City and I experienced some very tasty treats. The tour guide was great. He made it a lot of fun. He was very knowledgeable about the chocolate and New York City. This tour does involve some walking if you are not used to that.

The choice of chocolate shops was excellent, offering a real contrast of styles, decor, etc. The guide was fantastic--really knowledgeable and friendly. Have already recommended this tour to friends.

Fun, But Expensive
Sun, Apr 1, 07   12:00 PM bethanycohen Female 20-29 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
I had a lot of fun on the chocolate tour and tasted some amazing chocolate. I'm currently living in New York and will be visiting many of the places we toured again. The only downside is that it was very expensive. Given that many of the hot chocolate tastings were only sample-size I feel the tour was a bit overpriced. Not that I needed more hot chocolate - I felt the sizes were fine, just that the prices didn't match. But our tour guide, Burt, was very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. Overall, a good time was had.

Excellant tour with very knowledgable tour guide.

The tour was great. The tour guide "Bert" was very knowledgable about the content. We learned a lot of information about chocolate that we never knew. Especially regarding the various methods that are used to make the various types of chocolate.. (American, English, Irish, French, Belgium). You learn what tastes you like the most. All the chocolate was great. You do need to be a chocolate lover (as most of us are). You will definitely sample quite a bit of chocolate. All shops were very attentive to us. The walk inbetween shops was just enough. Glad the shops were not so close together after eating the chocolate in each shop. Terriffic job.............

University of Chocolate

It's everything you ever wanted to know about chocolate. A great education about the delicacy. For example, chocolate comes from a fruit. At least, that's what I gathered. Guess it makes it an essential part of a balanced diet. Be prepared to tip the scales after the tour though, many chocolate samples later. Tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and very personable. Bravo!!! It's a must do while in New York. If you're going to eat chocolate, you may as well learn about. This tour pulls off both items rather nicely...

This was a wonderful tour! Our guide, Bert, was very knowledgeable, articulate and infectiously enthusiastic. The samples provided by each chocolatier were delicious, artistic, and/or creative -- and they were all so passionate about their offerings. Thanks for an unusually worthwhile experience!

We had a small group, only my husband and I and another single woman, plus our guide. He was friendly, knowledgeable and professional but approachable. Obviously knows and enjoys his subject. The shops were tiny, unique and gorgeous. The chocolates were exquisite little marriages of passion, art and chemistry and we enjoyed sampling the more exotic combinations. There's a whole world of chocolate out there that most of us don't even know about. We especially enjoyed the cups of hot chocolate on our damp, cold day. The walk was easy and leisurely. Can't wait to explore the neighborhood and go back to the shops on our own and recommmended friends to this tour already. We plan to try the Luxury Chocolate tour maybe in the spring or fall !

Too expensive
Sat, Nov 17, 07   12:00 PM bblock Female 70+ Combination Family With Children
I thought that $70 per person was much too costly for the tour which was 2 hours in 5 chocolate shops. We really didn't get to see chocolate being made, except for Bloomingdales which I could see any time I visited the store. They also give out free samples to anyone who passes by. However, my 13 year old grandson really enjoyed it., and if he enjoyed it , that's good enough for me.

We celebrated a 50th birthday party in NYC and this was part of our trip. We had such a great time visiting the shops and touring the city. Bert was awesome! I would highly recommend this tour to someone that loves chocolate and is looking for something a bit different in NYC.
