Great Time

I got tickets to this as both a valentine's day gift for my chocoholic husband as well as a birthday gift for my sister-in-law. We all went together and had a great time. Discovered some wonderful new places and just really enjoyed spending the day out together in this manner. Aside from the fact that all the chocolate along the way was absolutely divine, the tour itself is a very original and fun way to spend an afternoon in mid-town.

fun day of chocoate in NYC
Fri, Jul 3  3:30 PM victorieux Female 30-39 Local Group of Friends
This was a fun tour. My sister and I wanted to do something fun and different in NYC and we love chocolate so this was perfect. The first stop we paired 2 pieces of chocolate with 2 different wines. Great start. Next we stopped at a shop and had a choice of 4 pieces of chocolate. We stopped at city bakery and were served a huge chocoate chip cookie and some frozen hot chocolate. yum. We stopped at another shop and were given a little bag of 4 chocolates. This shop had samples of some of their cakes too. Last stop we had 2 pairings of chocolate with its matching liquor. Bert was a genuinely nice tour guide and had lots of information to share. Be prepared to walk. My sister and I love walking so it was a plus for us considering how much we were eating. We started at 31st street and ended at around 4th. Some other reviews talked about how there was too much chocolate but if you save the packaged chocolates for later, it's perfect. I also liked how it wasn't all chocolate pieces and the cookie and chocolate drink was a welcome surprise.

For extreme chocolate lovers!

The tour provided more than samples of heavenly chocolate. It included interesting information about the diversity and creativity of the chocolatiers, much of which I would not have known existed. Imagine a luscious tomato/basil chocolate! The enthusiasm and knowledge of our guide was an added bonus and I believed inspired a diverse group to have a great time together and ensure we will never look at chocolate quite the same way again.I can't think of anyone who is really into chocolate who wouldn't love this tour.

A Great Way to Explore New Places

I really enjoyed the balance of chocolate and non-chocolate items since you can get worn out from so much sweet deliciousness! Tour was fun, social, great guide, nice places and amazing food. Highly recommend this to anyone who lives in another neighborhood. I'll certainly be back to some of the locations when I visit in the future.

Our guide Bert was enthusiastic and extremely knowledgable regarding the making of chocolate. It was wonderful to walk the neighborhoods, get information about what we saw, as well as learn about the different nuances of each shops selection of chocolate. I will recommend it to all of my friends traveling to NYC as somehting unique and different to try.

we were very happy with our experience and will definitely try one of the other tours as a result of our positive thoughts on this one. the chocolates were amazing and the tour guide truly helped guide us in our chocolate making decisions. he also was intimately aware of the history associated with each shop. we had a fun time and learned alot during the day...

Great tour, great service

We took the tour on a very hot day in mid-July 2008. For whatever reason, the other participants (not our party) had cancelled - leaving just the two of us with the guide. It was very professional of them not to cancel the whole tour. This left us to enjoy a "private tour". The tour is nice - there is some walking but the distances are not great. The chocolate shops are high-quality. There are 5 shops, and the tour includes 2 pieces of chocolate at each shop. And that is plenty! Plus, there is the opportunity to purchase...

fun but not worth $70.00

It was a lot of fun and me and my wife learned a lot. but we thought it was not worth the $70.00 if you did like at least 3 more stops. which would be 8 stops it will be worth the $70.00 I say for $50.00 is a better price.

Decadent, Delicious, and Delightful!

Overall a well coordinated tour by our guide Burt - who was charming, informative, and very apologetic when Zerve gave us the incorrect location to meet. (Mistakes happen but more should have been done to correct the mistake - for example calling the cell phone numbers customers provided.) The tour provided a balance of excellent chocolate to taste, paired with a good wine, and interesting businesses to visit. I particularly liked the bit of neighbood history Bert provided while strolling some lovely East Side streets. All and all a lovely afternoon.

I found the activity fun and informative. Bert was a great guide you could really feel the enthusiasm he had and made everyone feel very welcome and wanted us all to have a great time. The group was the right size to be able to chat and get to know fellow visitors between shops, we kept moving but did not feel rushed.Great fun!

Amazing Chocolate Tour
Sat, Sep 19  12:00 PM swalmie Female 30-39 Local Group of Friends
I took my friend on this for her Birthday and she just loved it!!! It's a walking tour but we didn't walk all over the place where we would be exhausted. I was so glad that we were able to tour the stores and not feel tired! The chocolate tour was outstanding. Our guide new so much about each store and the chocolate they carried but he did not go on and on and turn the tour scientific. It was an amazing time! I recommend it to anyone who wants to eat chocolate and enjoy NYC while learning about the culture and taste of this amazing fruit!!! YUP it's a fruit!!!

FANTASTIC!!!
Sat, Jul 28, 07   12:00 PM suesee Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
Burt is very personable and knowledgeable about all things chocolate. He also handles a small group of people well and makes sure that questions are answered. He conveys his expertise with enthusiasm! I tried all sorts of infused chocolates that were exquisite and have become a true dark chocolate fanatic. We plan to take the Soho chocolate tour next time we're in NYC.
