The tour was great! The tour guide was even better! He was very knowledgeable, friendly, enthusiastic, and a pleasure to listen to. Lots of information on chocolate that I didn't know about, and the chocolate at each shop was wonderful.

Absolutely amazing!!!!!! Bert is the best tour guide in the world. Ask him about the toilet in the Chrysler building. One piece of advice, bring something to drink to wash down all the chocolate.

I highly recommend the wine/chocolate tour. Bert was a wonderful guide and my family had a fabulous time! The wines were great with the delicious chocolates. So fun and we can't wait to try the downtown tour.

Something New for New Yorkers

Wanted to do something a little different for my boyfriend's birthday present, something we could enjoy together. Such a great afternoon. Our tour leader was friendly, knowledgeable, and surprisingly honest. (He told us why certain chocolates were his favorite, why some were just not up to par, and why others deserved to be spit out.) Not only did he know the history of the stores we visited, he also answered our questions regarding chocolate and its production. But nerdy stuff aside, it was fun and delicious, and we now know a few gems we probably wouldn't have found otherwise. WARNING: Do not eat for at least two hours prior to the tour. You must leave room for all these amazing treats. And remember to take risks. Sometimes the weird ones are the tastiest.

Even better than expected. Our guide was fun, informative, and interesting. Learning about the making of chocolate was almost as fun as eating it! What could be better than a walk through Soho with a great guide, close friends and awesome chocolate!

Bert was a WONDERFUL tour guide. My boyfriend and I were fortunate to be the only two on the tour. Bert taught us about chocolate as well as many things about NYC that we didn't know. We were visiting a friend who lives in Manhattan but since Bert had been living in NYC for so much longer he really had a lot more interesting things to tell us. The four chocolate shops we visited were awesome! We would have never found them on our own or had any idea how great they were. It was nice that our guide had tried almost all of the chocolates. Usually you want to try something new but don't because you don't really know what your getting yourself into. All of the chocolates we tried were delicious and the hot chocolate we had was BEST I have ever tasted. After the chocolate tour ended, our guide was kind enough to give us directions to a theatre we were headed to and even recommended a couple of his favorite restaurants- which we visited and loved. The money for this tour was well spent. Our stomaches were full from all of the chocolate. If you want to do something fun and different while in NYC, go on this tour!

Delicious

As an occasional visitor to New York from Australia, I was looking for a new way to see parts of Manhattan that I hadn't explored before and the combination of wine and chocolate plus the pretense of exercise was irresistable. The tour leader was delightful; the group of a modest size; the tasting opportunities were engaging. Altogether, an enjoyable and succulent experience.

fun day of chocoate in NYC
Fri, Jul 3  3:30 PM victorieux Female 30-39 Local Group of Friends
This was a fun tour. My sister and I wanted to do something fun and different in NYC and we love chocolate so this was perfect. The first stop we paired 2 pieces of chocolate with 2 different wines. Great start. Next we stopped at a shop and had a choice of 4 pieces of chocolate. We stopped at city bakery and were served a huge chocoate chip cookie and some frozen hot chocolate. yum. We stopped at another shop and were given a little bag of 4 chocolates. This shop had samples of some of their cakes too. Last stop we had 2 pairings of chocolate with its matching liquor. Bert was a genuinely nice tour guide and had lots of information to share. Be prepared to walk. My sister and I love walking so it was a plus for us considering how much we were eating. We started at 31st street and ended at around 4th. Some other reviews talked about how there was too much chocolate but if you save the packaged chocolates for later, it's perfect. I also liked how it wasn't all chocolate pieces and the cookie and chocolate drink was a welcome surprise.
