A fun time

This was a fun tour. Of course the chocolate tasted great and we were encouraged to try unusual tastes. Also, the tour guide was excellent and the tour was leisurely. We learned a lot about how chocolate was made as well as background on how each of the shops got started. The area of the city (SoHo) was also fun to see. Probably best not to do this tour in very hot weather.

A fun, unusual, and tasty experience

As a resident of neighboring NJ, I enjoy seeking out different things to do in NYC. When I came across the chocolate tour, I knew right away that it was a must for this chocolate lover and I didn't have to do much convincing for two friends to join me. It did not disappoint. Tour guide Burt was knowledgeable about how and where chocolate is made, the history, and the differences among the many chocolatiers. He was genuinely enthusiastic and seemed to be enjoying himself just as much as we were. Despite being regular NYC visitors, we were unaware of some of the places we visited and enjoyed his description of the offerings at each shop so that we could make informed decisions about what to try. The tour company could enrich the experience further with some kind of handout with, say, a history of chocolate, what to look for in chocolate, and maybe even a chocolate-related souvenir.

Enjoyable afternoon with chocolate and wine

Two 60 year olds, one 40 year old and an eight year old. The tour leader was very nice and gave us many chocolate facts. Our grandson tried everything and was given extra chocolate instead of the wine. We visited five places, including a chocoate factory where we ate a number of chocolates and had each one explained. We all had a fun afternoon and didn't need dinner, except for our grandson who ate some pizza and wanted chicken soup after the pizza and chocolate!

What a great way to spend an afternoon

Having taken the deluxe chocolate tour in March my wife and I knew we were in for a treat when we signed up for the New Cuisine Chocolate Tour. We knew the chocolate would be great, but most of all we knew with Bert leading the tour, that the whole expereince was going to be informative and fun. We brought our nieces and their mom along for this tour and I'm not sure the nieces were sure they would like it, but after meeting Bert and after that first chocolate shop, they were thrilled. The shops (and the samples) are, of course wonderful, but what makes this especially enjoyable is the way Bert combines just the right amount of information (explained simply and clearly) with all of the great chocolate. He is a truly personable, enthusiastic young man who loves sharing his love of chocolate with everyone. He is the best tour guide we have ever encountered. We get to New York a few times a year and we're looking forward to our next visit so we can hook up with Bert again for the Union Square chocolate tour. These tours are more than worthwhile, they are a real treat and one of the highlights of a visit to New York. Don & Kathleen Burns

I found this tour interesting and informative and maybe somewhat overpriced. Never the less, we all did have a good time.

Both tasty and informative tour

We enjoyed both the chocolate and the guide's extensive knowledge. He was great. It was not too far to walk and there were restroom opportunities. There was adequate time at each stop. I would have brought a bottle of water with me if it was suggested ahead of time.

My daughter and I had a wonderful time on this tour. Our guide was very friendly, very informative about chocolate and regaled us with many fun facts and anecdotes. The sample choclates were exquisite. I purchased chocolates from Mirabelle and La Maison du Chocolate to take home with me. I would highliy recommend this tour to my friends if they were going to visit Manhattan. I will definetely take the other chocolate tours offered when I visit Manhattan again. I would also look for Zerve tours in other cities that I may visit.

A wonderfully pleasant experience

We didn't know quite what to expect, but it turned out to be one of the true highlights of our visit to New York. Our tour guide (Bert) made the expereince even more enjoyable with his humor, his knowledge, and his genuinely friendly attitude. He came across as a true chocolate lover and eager to share his passion. Moreover, he conveyed facts with an informal yet interesting style. To put it simply we were super impressed with him. We plan to return to New York in June with our nieces and high on our "to do" list is this tour. We can't wait to share it with them. Finally, we learned enough from Bert about chocolate that we purchased several varieties of drinking and sipping chocolates to try here at home. Of curse, we also had to bring home a supply of the eating variety too. We would (and already have) enthusiastically recommend this tour to anyone with even the slightest interest in chocolate or in just having a pleasant afternoon.

FABULOUS Fun

The New Cuisine Chocolate Tour is about as much fun as one can legally have - and this from someone who doesn't particularly like chocolate! (I chose it as a birthday gift for a chocoholic friend.) The tour guide was terrific - charming, as full of information as enthusiasm, and a wonderfully pleasant companion and guide. The places we visited provided a variety of styles, architecture, and amibance as well as fabulous tastes, and the walk from LES to Soho was delightful. Basically two perfect hours.

The two hour tour was a delight. I had heard of the various chocolate shops in New York but had never experienced them. Our guide, Burt, was enthusiastic and well informed. He had done his homework and was quite knowledgeable about chocolate. The samplings in the five shops were extraordinary--tasting everything from coconut to chipolte, traditional as well as more unusual flavors. This was a birthday present to my husband and we all enjoyed it. Creative and unique!

I wasn't quite sure what kind of a tour this would be, but was impressed with the knowledge of the surrounding area that our tour guide had. He was charming and very personable. Except for the chocolate company that we visited that actually made the chocolate on the premises we had no contact with anyone other then the counter people who gave us the chocolate upon our arrival. By the time we arrived at our final destination I wasn't really interested in tasting any more chocolate. I love chocolate, but was more interested in the interesting information that we learned on the way.

This was my THIRD chocolate adventure with Bert! And, as usual, the experience was entertaining and educational and well worth my precious time while visiting the best city in the world! The chocolatiers we visitied seemed enthusiastic about the opportunity to tell us about their products and the addition of bakery thoughts was a nice new wrinkle. If you haven't discovered the Union Square neighborhood yet, this tour is a must just to get Bert's perspective of this incredibly interesting part of NYC ...to say nothing about the delicious port served at our first stop!!

until we went on the Chocolate Tour. I treated my friend to this tour because she LOVES chocolate. Well, she also loved the tour. We had a wonderful guide who made sure he spent time with everybody. (Who knew there were so many stories about chocolate?)

We enjoyed the New Cuisine tour as much or more than the European Tour a month earlier!! Burt was knowledgable and entertaining, and he made sure we all moved at a pace that worked for our group. Just like its neighborhood (SoHo), the New Cuisine tour was full of fun, unique, and full of delicious examples of what chocolate should taste like. We loved the close proximity of the stops and the enthusiasm of the chocolatiers we visited. Way to go Zoom! I can't wait to try your wine&chocolate tour!!
