Something fun, other than Broadway
Sat, Feb 3, 07   12:00 PM diannegins Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Other
We were looking for something to do other than the usual New York shopping and shows. The tour included a well versed guide who enjoyed the art of chocolate and some delicious tastings in the finest chocolate shops in the city. Although pricey, the tour provided 2 pieces of chocolate of your choice at 5 different shops, all with different specialities. More chocolate than I was able to sample during the tour but wrapping it to go was not an issue, and my estimation is that we received almost the full amoung paid for the tour in chocolate samples. Well worth the experience and lovely people on the tour as well. We enjoyed talking to people from overseas and mingling with others. The walking part wasn't too difficult either as the locations were all pretty close in proximity. Great way to spend a few hours!

We are a married couple with very small children. We took the tour as a special date for the two of us. It was terrific. We actually did both chocolate tours and they were equally good. I think we prefered the uptown tour. The shopkeepers on those were much more interesting and friendly. Carmen was our guide and we could not have asked for better.

This was a great afternoon of chocolate. I am glad that we did this tour of New York with the added bonus of chocolate in between.

Delicious chocolate sampling

I took this tour while on a recent trip to NYC with my sister. We enjoyed the different chocolates and the talks that we received at each location. My only complaint is that the tour could either add a few more stops or decrease the price slightly.

As an occasional visitor to New York from Australia, I was looking for a new way to see parts of Manhattan that I hadn't explored before and the combination of wine and chocolate plus the pretense of exercise was irresistable. The tour leader was delightful; the group of a modest size; the tasting opportunities were engaging. Altogether, an enjoyable and succulent experience.

A dream come true

First off, being led by our exceptional host, Bert, to 5 chocolate shops where we got to sample and purchase, if we cared to, chocolates from 5 different countries was sublime The manner in which Bert informed the group about the history of the different stores was unique. His delivery , through enthusiasm and lesser known facts about the individual chocolate makers , was fresh and memorable. Bert is sensational. Regardless of the level of chocolate consumer you are, what I found most valuable was being able to contrast and compare the taste of the chocolates from the different countries. Thank you for creating such a tour.

Wow! Before leaving on the tour I said it would be impossible for me to have too much chocolate. I ate all my samples, and had my fill of chocolate when the tour ended. We had Bert as our tour guide, and he was terrific. I will definately take a tour again.

I can recommend this tour to everyone who loves chocolate and is interested in learning more about chocolate, its history and development. In addition esp. tourists get to know really nice und handsome places of high quality chocolate, which is so much more than just a candy.

Thank You Thank You Thank You!!! You became the highlight of my trip! Brad was so fun, sweet and knowledgeable, a PURE ENJOYMENT. From my running late and his being so helpful in making sure I could catchup with the group to the great descriptions of what we were eating (and eating and eating). I know more about chocolate then ever and have now tasted some of the best. I came away so full that the idea of dinner was pushed off till after 10pm. I also was able to buy some of the best gifts that my friends will ever receive so that they too can experience what I did!! Thank you.

was at pickup early but the tour missed me
Sat, Sep 20, 08   12:00 PM kb1381 Male 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
I was there early, very much looking forward to the tour, but somehow I missed it. I swear I was there, looking around, waiting for some one to make some type of announcement or hold a sign or something. No dice. But when I called the lady (who was very nice btw) with the company, I was told that 12 other people were had been picked up and they all made the tour! Was the tour walking or riding on a bus? Just curious. One problem could be that Sacks fifth avenue has at least 2 exits. Perhaps in future you could specify which one? I was walking back and forth between them, so as not to miss the tour, and maybe I missed the tour that way? Also, maybe you could have your tour person make some kind of announcement or something to ensure that everyone gets picked up? I guess if no one else has this problem then maybe it's me. :) Anyway, have a nice life.

The pace for this tour was good, we visited 5 locations with samples at each. As a local I wanted to be introduced to places I did know. The discovery of the Maribel shop was a gem. The tour guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I would recommend this tour.

I found the activity fun and informative. Bert was a great guide you could really feel the enthusiasm he had and made everyone feel very welcome and wanted us all to have a great time. The group was the right size to be able to chat and get to know fellow visitors between shops, we kept moving but did not feel rushed.Great fun!

It was so much fun - I really recommend the tour to any chocolate addict! Two pieces per store may seem too few at first but the chocolate you taste is so rich that it is just the right amount. The tour guide was great: knowledgeable, fun, enthousiastic and very passionate about chocolate! Thanks for the lovely afternoon!
