Decadent and Educational - I Love NYC
Sun, Feb 22  12:00 PM GillianS Female 20-29 Local Group of Friends
The New Cuisine Chocolate tour was a fantastic way to explore and learn more about the city I live in through a food I love - chocolate! Learning about the chocolate makers and their art really gives you an appreciation for what they do. Bert, our host, was very accomodating and insightful. I took my parents and a friend of the family (all locals) and we all had a great time and learned a lot. I highly recommend this tour for people who love to learn and have an appetite for quality chocolate :)

Burt was a wonderful tour guide, you can tell he has a true passion and love for chocolate. The tour was very informative once you are done you can have fun bragging about your new found knowledge of chocolate. I took my fiancé on this tour for his birthday, and he loved it. It was also a really beautiful walk around the city.

This was our second tour and we had just as much fun as our first. What could be better than tasting deliciously different chocolates on a beautiful day while strolling through the NYC? In addition, Bert our guide was not only knowledgeable about the ins and outs of chocolate but also knows his fair share about the neighborhoods we walk through. I would recommend this to anyone who is a little adventurous but mostly just wants to have fun and taste some really good chocolate.

I thought this was just a special event for Valentines day--Turns out it takes place every weekend in addition to other tours. WOW was i happy to hear that. Our Tour Guide Bert--was so much fun, so informative and really pushed all of us to just enjoy ourselves. My husband and I more than LOVED THE CHOCOLATES---all of them!!! I have never tasted chocolates the way i experienced them on this tour (and probably will not again at the normal price tags...LOL) The unique techniques and blends of flavors really made this a fun experience and a totally new way of appreciating our favorite indulgence--- What a great way to spend the day Thanks so much Bert--Keep up the good work!

OVERPRICED

$70 dollars for 10 pieces of chocolate, I would say it is a little overpriced. We got to taste different types of chocolate, but I thought that we would get to see how it is made but we didnt get to see that. She said we would get to see how they made the chocolates, she pretty much took us to different stores and we ate chocolates, thats it...She was very nice, and was a good guide.

I brought my choco-holic boyfriend on the Luxury Chocolate tour as a Valentine's Day surprise. He and I could not be more delighted with our experience. Our tour guide Burt was incredibly knowledgeable & informative, but was also very friendly, fun, and approachable. He was able to answer all of our chocolate related questions, and recommend his favorites to us at each store. The chocolates were absolutely spectacular. I don't think I'll ever be able to go back to Hershey's bars again! We were able to share and enjoy a variety of chocolates and truffles. We put a few chocolates aside and are still enjoying them now. Each bite is a reminder of the wonderful afternoon we shared on our chocolate tour! As a native New Yorker, I had never been on a tour before, and I was a little concerned about it being cheesy and touristy. I assure you that this tour was anything but. We had a magnificent time, met some very nice people, and floated off in a chocolate-induced bliss state that I believe we are still experiencing today. Thank you Burt!!

A spontaneous day trip to NYC with a friend found us looking online for something different to do. We happened across the ad for Zoom's Chocolate, Wine & Culture Walking Tour. What could be more fun than that?!! We signed up easily by calling Zerve and were told to meet the group in front of Starbucks. We arrived a bit early and there was no sign of a group. We went into the Starbucks and asked if anyone knew where the group met. No one had ever heard of it, so we thought perhaps we'd been scammed (such skeptics). We waited inside a few minutes until I spotted a young man with a messenger bag over his shoulder right there on the corner!! (Yay! Not a scam!) We met Bert, our guide, and the other "tourists", 10 in all, and were on our way. Bert is a delightful, knowledgeable, easy going guide and we had great fun. Three hours of walking, talking, and tasting went by very quickly. We would recommend this tour to anyone (not kids younger than say 16) who would enjoy an insider's view of some yummy and fascinating boutique chocolate stores!

This was a fantastic tour. The tour guide is great. Not only does he know a lot about chocolate, but also the area. He is friendly and fun. The tour itself consists of going to several different chocolate shops and picking chocolates to try. The guide knows all the different kinds of offered. There are some very adventurous types of chocolates to try, and you get to try ALOT!! I enjoyed this tour so much that I will be taking the other one soon.

I went on the chocolate tour around Soho with a few friends and found it so interesting. Not only were we enjoying amazing chocolates, but we were learning about it all the while exploring Manhattan in a new way. As a local who loves the city, this is a great thing to do with friends, a significant other or family members! Our guide Bert was so friendly and informative...I highly recommend it!

Simply put, if you're interested enough to be looking at reviews, there's no question you should take this tour. The entire experience was phenomenal. I never knew such unbelievable chocolate could exist. Of course, you should come hungry- you eat a lot of it. But the tour was way more than just a lot of delicious chocolate; it was an experience. The tour teaches you a lot in a dynamic, interesting, fun way. We learned about the chocolate-making process, the history of boutique chocolate, trends in chocolate, and about the culture of New York City in the process. The tour guide was wonderful- he engaged everyone with a natural charm and grace, making sure everyone was having a good time. Needless to say, I'll be recommending it to quite a few people back home.
