Great fun for a special celebration!

This tour was a present from me to a friend who was celebrating a major birthday, and it did not disappoint. We had a terrific couple of hours with our guide Bert and the others on the tour. Bert managed to deliver an amazing amount of information about chocolate, while at the same time answering every question in a relaxed, thouughtful and humorous way. I confess that at the beginning of the tour I thought that getting 2 samples at each shop didn't sound like much. Wrong! These are samples of very rich chocolates and we were in fact given extra samples or tastes of hot chocolate at several shops. Our samples turned out to be so filling that we didn't want to eat them all right then. We COULD have, but were very, very happy that we had taken a plastic container to save some for later. I heartily recommend this as a way to appreciate each type of chocolate -- and, I heartily recommend this tour.

We were a group of friends that planned this as a get together. We enjoyed the tour & all the treats we received along the route as we stopped @ each chocolate shop. Bert was our tour guide & he was very accomodating & knowledgable.

Great fun. Excellent tourguide: enthusiastic, knowlegeable and personable. Excellent chocolates: many varieties and types to learn about and to taste. Excellent walking route: not too long or difficult to follow. In short: go!

Great tour, but needed more wine!

The tour was really great! However I would have enjoyed learning about more wine and chocolate pairings. There was only one occasion where we had wine and chocolate pairings, and I would have enjoyed a more in-depth lesson on multiple pairings.

We visit New York often, but have never done a food tour. This was a lot of fun and not stuffy at all, even for non-foodies. For some people it might be a lot of walking - be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, you need both. Bert was great. He knew a lot, made suggestions, let us take our time and still kept us on schedule and had a wonderful approach and attitude about life. He'll give you recommendations about other tours and tidbits about the city, too, if you ask. Take advantage of a chance to try flavors you'd never normally order and have fun!

I do not like chocolate and did this tour to please an out of town friend. My lucky friend got to eat 4 pieces of all the chocolate offered and he was in heaven. However, the best part of the tour was the enthusiastic presentation of the young man leading the tour. He was so informative and showed extreme patience for the silliest of questions. Although I am personally not interested in anything regarding chocolate, his presentation at each store made me listen...and who knows, I might have learned something!

It was pouring rain the day of our tour and our guide showed up right on time. We were the only 2 people on our tour so we got the private show. We were so lucky! Everyone connected with the tour including those in the chocolate shops were kind and very understanding when we asked all sorts of questions. I fell in love with chocolates from one of the places. It totally replaced my former #1 pick which was also on the tour. If I hadn't taken this tour I would never have found the place. I highly recommend this tour. You will learn a lot about chocolate, taste some fabulous chocoate and come home with way too much chocolate.

Overall a well coordinated tour by our guide Burt - who was charming, informative, and very apologetic when Zerve gave us the incorrect location to meet. (Mistakes happen but more should have been done to correct the mistake - for example calling the cell phone numbers customers provided.) The tour provided a balance of excellent chocolate to taste, paired with a good wine, and interesting businesses to visit. I particularly liked the bit of neighbood history Bert provided while strolling some lovely East Side streets. All and all a lovely afternoon.

Our chocolate tour in Soho

All the places were very good and unique and the tour guide was very knowledgeable, informative (answered lots of questions), and the area to walk around in was good to move around in after eating chocolate. The only other thing to add is to inform the public they will be outside for most of the tour. We had a rather cold day to walk around in. Otherwise a very good tour of chocolate.

The other group canneled, so ours was a nice private tour. The guide Bert was nice and friendly and knowledgeable. I just wished that thew last shop would be Kee's so that I can get her chocolate the last as it needs refridgeration.

Through the years we have been to NY many times, taking advantage of several different types of tours available. A chocolate tour sounded very different and interesting so we decided to give it a try. We were very warmly greeted by our tour guide who was not only gracious but very knowledgeable about chocolate. He took the time to describe the way chocolate is created and how this differs in individual regions of the world depending on where the beans are produced. He also provided us with information on the unique ways that each chocolatier developed and created his own style for his creations. Each chocolate shop offered each participant the ability to taste two pieces of chocolate and were very accommodating to having us in their shop. I would highly recommend this tour to chocolate lovers everywhere.

I changed my mind about La Maison du Chocolat. I had gone there at least 20 years ago and was disppointed because there was no milk chocolate. But Saturday I found out they do, indeed, have milk chocolate, so I'll be going there (especially since Saks, my favorite department store, stopped carrying Neuhaus). La Maison was the highlight for me; Pierre Marcolini came in second. Richart came in last for me. I was disappointed we didn't visit Martine's (much better than some of our visits).
