I don't think we could enjoy the trip fully due to severe jetlag. Gordon is a nice guy with alot of knowledge and wit. Glad to have met him.

Gordon's reviews speak for themselves. He's everything the other reviewers say - friendly, knowledgeable, passionate about jazz . . but not in an annoying or pretentious way. He is clearly dedicated to making sure his clients have a brilliant time and is full of interesting insights, anecdotes and opinions. What's also great though is that once you're in a club he'll let you have the experience you want; be that sitting at a bar, dancing, mingling, sitting in a corner - it's not like being on some dreadful tour where you are herded around like sheep. Furthermore he's obviously very popular with the locals in Harlem's jazz clubs and wherever we went he was warmly welcomed. We went on a Friday night and stopped at three venues, eating brilliant tasty soul food at the second. We saw a great range of bands and each club was very different. All were fantastic. New York's an expensive city so $99 might seem like a lot of money but I think Gordon's tour is worth every single penny. Highly recommended. You'll never see these places, let alone understand what's going on, without his expert guidance and humorous commentary.

Gordon's knowledge of the area, history, and music was exceptional! I had a great time and highly recommend this tour!

We had an absolute fantastic evening with Gordon who took us to places we would've never have found. I traveled with my 19 year old niece who finds acceptable. She said at 1 in the morning that she really had a blast. What could I have wished for else? It was absolute great jazz we listened to and we've been to great, intimate places where we met quite some locals. As I wrote before: it was an absolute highlight.

Gordon met our group at Lincoln centre where we met 4 other participants. Gordon was very friendly and engaging from the moment we met him and we felt like the tour was with a group of friends we had known for awhile. Gordon kept us on schedule all night, ensured we had seats everywhere we went and was a wealth of information regarding the history of Jazz in Harlem. The music was stellar, the musicians top notch and friendly, and we had the best time ever!

Even though I was staying in Harlem I probably never would have come across the clubs Gordon introduced our group to. The musicianship at each of the three "juke joints" on the tour that night was outstanding, while the ambiance and the welcome from musicians and servers alike was as warm as you could possibly imagine. The fact that we seemed to be on the same route as musicians moving from place to place to jam is undoubtedly due to Gordon's thorough knowledge of the city's jazz scene. On our walks from club to club we learned things about the neighborhood's jazz history that aren't written down anywhere. It was the best night of my month-long stay in NY. I'm just glad I don't live next door to any of these places because I'd be there every night.

This tour has changed the way I look at jazz and what I thought was a dying culture but I'm delighted to know that it still lives in Harlem. Gordon has incredible knowledge of the jazz scene in Harlem and is extremely informative and patient. I look forward to visiting again as I continue to research for the website I'm developing called jazzgroupiez!

Met up with Gordon, our tour guide for the evening who effortlessly ferried us away on a well-organised mini-tour of Harlem. Gordon dealt with all the mundane task, such as purchasing our Metro tickets, guiding us through the walk and pointing us in the right direction to pick up food and beverages on the way. (This allowed us the opportunity to take in the sites and sounds of Harlem without all the `niggly bits'! ) We toured three very different venues but all with exceptional music, ambience and location. This certainly gave us an insight into the Jazz era - past and present.!. Would certainly recommend this tour.

This is the second time I have taken this tour because its really that good! Gordon is a great guide and knows all the good places to go to hear great jazz. I would definitely have never found them on my own or known about visiting musicians, especially up in Harlem at night time but with Gordon's tour I felt perfectly safe (i was a solo female traveller). I cannot recommend this tour enough if you love listening to great live jazz in NYC.

IT WAS A GREAT NIGHT, AND ALL THE MUSIC WAS STRONG. WE EVEN GOT TO HEAR A NEW ORLEANS BRASS BAND (VERY FUNKY)........GORDON WAS KNOWLEDGEABLE AND GRACIOUS GUIDE/HOST.. TRY IT....YOU'LL DIG IT THE MOST!

Everything we hoped for. A great knowledgeable guide who became like a friend by the end of the evening,Intimate group of 7, enjoyed the different venues, especially the Legion venue where we also had soul food for dinner for an amazing price!, A variety of venue types and jazz music. A really fun evening! We have already recommended it to anyone we see for when they are in NY.A real highlight of our vacation in NY. Thank you!

I have been to several jazzclubs in NY and other US-cities and had a good time. This was "Something else"! Best musical experience in my entire jazz-life. I consider Gordon a personal friend after this evening. Will do again!

We visited 3 clubs with very high caliber jazz entertainers and different styles. Gordon was an excellent host giving us the musical history of Harlem and each club we visited and made us feel as a part of the scene. He also made sure that our visiting group felt comfortable with each other. Food and refreshments were of high quality as well as the friendliness of the people in the clubs. We had a memorable evening and we won´t hesitate to recommend this tour to others.
