Tour facilitator had the ability to read his group,s needs and an excellent understanding of Jazz.It was a great event for us all.

That was great!

"It was a cold, rainy and windy night". We rushed like mad to get from the airport to the venue. Gordon saw us through! The food and the music were magic and we thought about the evening the whole week we were there. Wish we had deep pockets and could have gone out again on another tour before our trip home!

Gordon was a great host and tour guide. Our tour felt improvised, yet with a solid structure hidden under the surface...just like good jazz should be! Gordon took us to three different places, each with its own distinct atmosphere. Creole was the first. Second was an intimate basement speakeasy. We finished off in a small restaurant, almost barren in its decor, but where the warmth made us feel like family, and where the band took only five seconds to start on cue, prompted only by the bandleader's command "Afternoon...in B-flat". This was definitely my highlight of my trip to NYC! Highly recommended.

Guide was knowledgeable, personable, and very well-organized. Visited three venues which were quite different, but all provided great jazz. Highly recommend this tour.

Thanks so much for the wonderful Juke Joint tour. We visited some great clubs. In particular, we visited a little hole in the wall kind of place that had an amazing energy and the people were welcoming. The performers were so fine! As I was leaving, one of the regulars said to me he saw me in the front row with a smile from ear to ear glued on my face! Our guide was friendly and so knowledgable. He was also very willing to customize the tour to the interests of those that went out with us that night. My wife and I can recommend this wonderful tour and any and all who love jazz. You won't be disappointed. First class operation!

Gordon was a great guide, showed us the Apollo theatre and gave us some nice background on the New York Jazz scene history. We were only able to attend one of the venues as it was a quiet nice (Jan 1st) and also my wife fell ill near the end of the night. Would definitely go again.

George is fabulous - he really knows jazz and we enjoyed our evening very much. As Canadian tourists we would have perhaps been hesitant to venture out on our own so this was perfect. It was an expensive evening - I guess we both ate and drank a lot but it was well worth it and we recommend this without hesitation!

Two things stood out. The first was Gordon's (the tour guide) knowledge and communication skills. He added the little extra that made the evening special for both my daughter and I. The second was our visit to the American Legion jazz session. There is no way I would ever find this location by myself and the music was great. It was an "open mike" event and the spontaneous music really got me. The rest of the evening - two more stops- went well. The next time I am in New York, I plan to do it again.

Although we were skeptical of the entire event, Gordon was great and the night was great. We were introduced to places in NYC that we never knew existed and it was a blast. We will surely recommend this activity. Thank you.

I would like to say how comfortable we felt from the very start of our Harlem Juke Joint Tour. From the beginning of meeting Gordon and throughout the evening it felt easy to slip into a relaxing and yet edge of your seat experience that was fulfilling for the entire 4-5 hours. A respect for the music that I came to listen to as well as respect for musicians and club owners was at the top of the bill! We were greatly impressed and are already looking forward to returning . The Jazz Tour was an excellent opportunity to go to clubs that we never had ever heard of and probably would not have gone otherwise. The musicians were superb and the venues accommodating and fun. The variety of the music was also great. Gordon was very nice, approachable, and made us feel very comfortable and eased any apprehension about going to an unfamiliar place. I would highly recommend this tour to all live music lovers.

Gordon was a mine of information regarding the area and of course the jazz scene. He was friendly and very approachable and the two venues he took us to provided us with two different aspects of jazz music. Both venues were excellent with great music and contrasting environments.

Met in a area that was accessible by Metro.

My husband & I turned out to be the only guests on this tour and we had a great time. Gordon knows his music, jazz past & present and Harlem - a winning combination. He makes sure guests get the experiences they want and gives choices about the clubs so the evening is tailored to one's preferences. It was a wonderful evening, the clubs were enjoyable, the music fun & the the people warm & welcoming. Gordon is clearing known & respected in the neighborhood. Thanks, Zerve & Gordon!
