The Boston Movie Mile Tour will guide you through Boston Common, the city's popular 50-acre park, and into the beautiful neighborhood of Beacon Hill.  Aptly nicknamed The Movie Mile, Beacon Hill is the most filmed area of Boston.  Movie locations seen on this tour include The Thomas Crown AffairParent Trap, The Real World, The DepartedBoondock Saints and more!

While visiting this tour's 30+ locations, you will:
  • Sit on the famous park bench from Good Will Hunting
  • Have a drink at the original Cheers™

If the tour is sold out, is there a waiting list?
No, On Location Tours does not keep a waiting list for our tours. Tours usually sell out, and often well in advance, so please make sure to purchase your tickets far in advance, especially if you have limited time availability.
Is there an age limit on this tour?
No. There is no age limit on the Boston Movie Mile Walking Tour.
What type of ticket should I buy for a very young child?
Children age 5 and under do not need a ticket to attend the tour. Children ages 6 through 9 need to have a Child ticket.
When do these tours run?
This tour is seasonal and does not run from November through March. Please check out our "Boston TV & Movie Sites" tour which runs all year round.
Where does the tour end?
The tour ends at the west end of the Boston Commons at the original Cheers™.
Are cameras allowed on the tour?
Yes, we'll be visiting many picturesque locations, so please feel free to bring your camera or video recorder.
Is this a good general sightseeing tour?
Yes. While the Boston Movie Mile Walking Tour is not a typical Boston sightseeing tour, it does include a number of city landmarks. It's a unique, entertaining way to tour Boston with a knowledgeable guide to educate you along the way.
Does the tour run during inclement weather?
The tour runs regardless of weather conditions. In the rare situation where On Location Tours is forced to cancel the event, ticket-holders will be allowed to reschedule to another time (subject to availability).
How long is the tour and how fast do we walk?
The walking tour is approximately 1.5 hours long and covers approximately 1 mile. We travel at a leisurely pace, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring appropriate clothing for the weather conditions.
Are restrooms available on the walking tour?
Restrooms are very limited and not easily accessible along the tour route, so please use the facilities prior to arriving for the tour.
Is anything to eat or drink included? Can I bring my own food?
We do not provide lunch but you are welcome to bring a snack or a bottle of water.
Will we go inside any of the locations on the tour?
No, we will not be going inside any of the locations along the tour, with the exception of Cheers™, which is where the tour ends.
Is the tour wheelchair accessible?
Yes, the Boston Movie Mile walking tour is wheelchair accessible. However, please let us know beforehand (during purchase) so we can slightly alter the route to better accommodate your party.
Are the tours conducted in English only?
Yes, the tour is only conducted in English at this time. Since so much of the tour is visual, however, visitors from countries such as Japan, Germany, France, Spain and many others have enjoyed the tour just the same!
Are gift certificates available for the tour?
No, gift certificates are not available at this time for the Boston Movie Mile Walking Tour but we hope to make them available soon!
Can I book a private tour?
Yes, private tours are available. Most groups, however, decide to attend the public tour for two reasons. First, it is usually less expensive. Second, part of the fun of the tour is interacting with all the other movie fans that take the public tour.
