I fell in love with the beautiful Belgian draft horse (Larry) who pulled our carriage and was quite vocal (very amusing) along the tour route. Even though it rained on us a bit that day, our guide - Christof (sp?) was fantastic. He was so knowledgable and interesting! I would love to take another tour with him, just to catch more of what I probably missed. I highly recommend this carriage ride tour of Charleston. |

I got this as a treat for my mother in law when she was visiting us (my wife and myself) here in Charleston, and she absolutely loved it! The tour is great, the guides are knowledgeable, and the price is certainly reasonable. My only regret is that I could not join her on this tour, but I fully intend to take it in the future. |

The ride was awesome, the quide very funny and knowledgeable of Charleston. The girls helping with the ride even wished my boyfriend a Happy Birthday, which they remembered from when I made the reservation a month before. We will be back and with family. Thank you for a wonderful evening! |

I would recommend this tour. It is good for all ages. Children may get bored about the history part but the horse and ride will keep them interested. If it is hot, you want to bring some bottle water and a snack for a very young children to keep them happy on the ride. The city picks the tour you will take not the carriage company. You want know what area you will see. We toured the area were oldest homes were and churches. The guide takes the time to answer all the questions. Be sure to arrive earlier than expected to find parking and walk to the starting point. We actually left early. |

We ere delighted with our tour via open horse drawn carriage. The day was very warm so I worried that it would be too hot. However, there was a lovely breeze once we were in the carriage. Our tour guide was Steve, who had an "endless" fund of history and tales of the areas we visited. He was charming and sociable, and displayed a high degree of knowledge and respect for the city and its history. Also, very interesting and humorous. Horse was "Bob" who himself was a lovely character, well-behaved and responsive. The staff who scheduled our tour were friendly and accommodating. We thought we would be able to make a tour at 2pm, realized we couldn't, called by cell phone the number provided by Zerve, and they were kind enough to schedule us for a tour at 4 pm with no surcharge. While our out-of-town guests from Korea could not understand a word, they nonetheless enjoyed the trip thoroughly. Thank you to all!!
PS We were grateful there was a restroom, but recommend making it a little more user friendly. Even a nail in the wall to hang a handbag or camera would be nice!
PPS Not too thrilled at Charleston's attempt at limiting where the carriages can go. While I understand the necessity of limiting volume of tours, this was not a busy day and it was disappointing not to go around the Battery and see Ft. Sumter from the shore as I had promised our guests. This was TOTALLY NOT the fault of the tour company, but a "lottery" system by the city. |

My daughter was in Charleston for business coming from PA. I live in Aiken and decided to join her for a few days prior to her meetings. I have been to Charleston many times, however, this was my first carriage ride. I must say that Anne did a great job. It was a pleasure and we both learned a lot. Plan to take my next group from PA on a carriage ride in mid-October and will gladly use the same group. |

Our reservations were in order when we arrived, and tour began on time. Stable was clean, animals were obviously well-cared for and cared about. Best of all, we had FUN! Charleston culture was the main event, but driver guide made it interesting enough for children as well as adults. We were taken down some little travelled streets that visitors to our lovely city probably would not have seen on their own. Showed the true beauty of Charleston. I'll choose these folks again any time. |

We truly enjoyed the carriage tour! It was a warm, sunny day - but the carriage was covered and helped block the sun for most of the tour. The tour guide was very knowledgeable; we learned a lot on this tour plus he had a good sense of humor! Our guide was Tyler and the horse was Henry - and we enjoyed them both! :)
What we were not informed of was that there are three different tour routes around the city. We just so happened to luck out with "route number one" which takes you through rainbow row, the battery and other highlights.
Bring a bottle of water and your camera. You will probably be sitting (very) close to the person next to you. |

We paid full price plus convenience fees and expected to have a good tour. Ended up with Chris who showed us some residences in Charleston. He was very dull and quite frankly we thought we would see more of Charleston but I think carriages are limited to where they can go. We were disappointed and quickly left the city after the tour.
I suggest driving or another method of touring Charleston. Perhaps I would've liked Charleston more if I saw other parts of it. |

There were four in our party with ages rangiing from 54 - 77 and we all enjoyed it very much. Since we are from the North East it was great learning about this first city in the south and all it has gone through to servive. Our thanks go to those with the insite to preserve the historic district and offer tours for others to learn from. All parts of this great country need to help save our heritage and keep America the best place to live and raise our families. God has blessed this Nation and we need to preserve it and its values in thanks and appreciation of what we have been given. |

This was a great idea and we chose the right company to do it with. Our tour guide was named Dillon and was very informative and knowledgeable. He certainly knew the history and was entertaining. The trip was not crowed at all and all the other carriages we saw there were people hanging all out the carriages and it was a very hot day even though we took the earliest tour possible. This tour is the only one on the route not out actively seeking riders I guess that is why it is not that crowded. We had a great time and wished we had gone the second day to get different trip. |

The tour guide knew a lot about the history of the town. The views were great. I recommend doing this tour in the spring or fall as it is very hot in the summer. Great for people who can't walk around much. We learned a lot about places we had walked by. |
