Lightweight but easygoing & reasonably informative

Well, we did cover quite a bit of Central Park, and saw many movie locations, including the familiar Bethesda fountain (One Fine Day, Green Card, Ransom) and the Mall (Kramer vs Kramer). Also the ice skating rink from Serendipity. So, the tour does show you some of the movie sights which you might not recognize on your own, but, it was a little lightweight. The first two locations were recognizable from...Home Alone 2? Well, it didn't really give us confidence in what we were going to see, although the movies did eventually get a little less obscure (some I'd never heard of). There were many opportunities to have photographs taken (by the guide or on your own) - for me this was time wasted when we could have been seeing more, but it depends what you want from this trip. I don't need to pretend to be Macaulay Culkin with pigeons on my arms...but some seemed to like the opportunity. There was also a fifteen minute break at the carousel - which hasn't really featured in many (any?) movies due to it's being covered by a brick building. Yes, this gave time for a carousel ride, food stop or restroom break, but again, I felt I'd paid for a 1.5 hour tour and probably really only got a 45 minute tour, and 45 minutes of pauses. This is great if you don't want to over-exert yourself, but made for a not-completely satisfying tour. It was cool to see some of the more familiar locations, but a little more indepth knowledge of the more famous NY movies shot there would have been better. Or maybe there aren't any...I'll never know now... 7 out of 10. Good weather helps. Not bad, but could have been better.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the Central Park Movie Location Tour which we recently undertook. Whether you are in to the movies that were mentioned, we weren't, or just want to enjoy the beautiful scenery and wonderful New York skyline back-drop as we did, there is something for everyone in this great tour. I'd recommend it to anyone.

We had the best time on our tour. This was our 6th time to visit New York from Louisiana. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. The length of the tour was just right. We got to see spots in the park which we may not have seen otherwise. My sister and I bought this as a surprise for my mom on this trip. Her main goal for our vacation was to see Central Park in the fall. The information we learned on the tour was icing on the cake! We had plenty of time to take tons of pictures of the beautiful foliage along the way. Our tour guide was so entertaining!! Loved all of the tidbits she had to add about the park. She gave us great advice for other things to do while we were in town. Thank you for such a wonderful time and we will definitely be recommending this company to all friends visiting the city. We also plan to try out some of the other available tours next time we visit.

I have been on the SATC tour a few years ago which I really enjoyed so thought I'd see what other tours were on offer. Neither me or my boyfriend had really been to Central Park before and really fancied a tour but didn't want a traditional 'this was built on this date' and 'such and such paid for this' so when we saw the films tour it really interested us. And it was a great decision! Our tour guide Morgan was really informative and whilst the ultimate aim of the tour was about filming locations she gave us a good mix of the facts about the park itself along with the film/tv locations. (I especially loved the fact about SJP at the Boat House Pond!) I would say it's a great tour for all ages, male and female and if I'm ever fortunate enough to go to NYC again will definitely look at the other tours available.

Our tour guide was lovely. I liked the way images from scenes were shown on her tablet as we looked at the spot it was shot. I think more of this could be done, by showing actual video clips. The meeting spot could be improved. While we were waiting we were unfortunately surrounded by pigeons wanting to share a little too much. Inside the park there are very few pigeons. The tour itself is fantastic. We recognised a lot of the spots ourselves, but it was really nice having extra information about other movies we didn't know about and even having someone guide you to the best locations.

Fun & Informative intro to Central Park

Great experience! The meeting location was Very easy to get to, and the two guides present checked guests in and divided us into two tour groups speedily and efficiently. I was impressed that our guide offered to take photos of members of the tour along the way. I love movies and tv, and this tour was an excellent way to learn some fun trivia about those movies and shows, along with learning about the history of Central Park. ... Not to mention I wouldn't get lost, like if I was there on my own! As a frequent visitor to the city, I think tourists and city dwellers alike would walk away knowing more about entertainment trivia and the story of the park itself guides could not have been friendlier, and pin the end of the tour were great at giving directions back to the start area (not far from where the tour ends) or nearby addresses/trains.

A great way to get a tour of Central Park who's getting an insight to where all your favourite films were filmed. Really enjoyed it and our host Sammy was wonderfully enthusiastic and made us feel really welcome. Thank you :)

I have never been to Central Park before, so my girlfriend thought it'd be a good idea to go on a tour rather than us having to navigate ourselves (she had to use a GPS once to get through the park). The guide was very informative about the history of the park and sites around it. Also, it was interesting to match a place with what we've seen in movies/heard about. The tour does go on no matter what the weather is, but I don't think the tour would be quite as enjoyable if it wasn't nice weather. It lasted about two hours but you don't really feel like you're walking for that long. There's a few breaks in between and it's still intriguing enough so you're not just daydreaming. I definitely recommend it if you're new to the city, have never been to the park before, or if you're a movie/tv/music lover and want to enjoy a nice walk.

A different way to see the park

On our fourth trip to NYC (and as regular visitors to Central Park) we were looking for different things to do and, being a movie buff, I'm pleased we signed up for the Central Park Movie & TV tour. Our guide Bianca was lovely - informative and friendly. The tour lasts for 2 hours and covered about 2.5 miles at a good pace with plenty of stops including the Duck Pond, Bethesda Terrace, the Mall and the Dakota Building. The tour could have just been a listing exercise of all the shows and movies filmed at each location but instead you learn about the creation of the park and how New Yorkers use it now which really added to the experience. There is a restroom stop and what Bianca called a 'recreation stop' which was a lovely surprise.
