Unenjoyable marathon run through Central Park

I was very displeased with the Central Park walking tour on Saturday, July 5 with Jessica. From the moment we all arrived in the group Jessica mentioned that because of the rain we would be moving at a faster pace and try to get done in less than 2 hours. Well in our party we had someone that was unable to keep up the pace. At the first "stop" we explained to Jessica that my mother had 2 replaced hips and was unable to walk at her pace and she simply told us to "keep up." When we were able to catch up and listen to the tidbits she had to say she spoke so quickly it was very difficult to understand her. She spoke English and I speak English but she did not enunciate and when questions were asked she quickly sped through and kept on going. My father attempted to keep up with the tour while I stayed behind with my mother and he even had a hard time keeping her pace and he is in shape and walks everyday. I feel that the tour guides' lack of compassion, rudeness and clear attitude with having to do her job was unacceptable. We paid good money for a TWO hour tour and ended up leaving the tour early and walking around Central Park on our own with no explanation of movies and TV Shows. I would NOT recommend this tour to anyone, instead walk around and then get a 40 minute ride on the Horse and Buggy as the driver tells you information along the way and keeps you entertained.

Even on a rainy day the tour was well worth battling the rain. The guide was very informative with a few suprises. Highly recomend the tour.

thought the tour was informative and well led. had a little trouble finding the beginning of the tour because the subway entrance was not marked very well. better initial gathering place on a corner.

This was my first time in New York, so needless to say, I wanted to see as much as possible. My friend and I took the tour, and it was wonderful. Our tour guide was a native New Yorker, and very good at her job. We felt like we got to see alot of Central Park, and also got alot of history as well. It was a nice walk and very fun. I love movies and the Tour Guide didn't miss a beat!! I definately would recommend this to anyone visiting New York City for the first time.

I throughly enjoyed the walking tour through Central Park. Kim was an excellent tour guide and we had quite an adventure on the day we went out. We saw the Tony winning actor from South Pacific shooting a commercial, a model photo shoot, 2 weddings and a movie being filmed, and that was just our extra bonus!!! It was such a nice walk and learning all about Central Park and the movie history was great. I have taken the Bus Movie Tour before and would recommend both tours to anyone traveling to New York. The walking tour is a great way to spend an afternoon!!

This was a nice tour, it was 90 out the day we went so I imagine it would have been better in the fall. Tourguide really knew her stuff. A longer tour would also be nice. Overall would definitely recommend.

Except for the heat, we loved it!

This is a great way to see Central Park. The park is huge, so it helped having a guide who knew her way around. Being movie fans, we had seen almost every film discussed. It was so much fun putting the film with the location. Not sure non-movie fans would love it, but we definitely did! Only drawback--it was 95 degrees!! The guide did a good job of keeping us in the shade when possible, but at the end of the two hours, we were all ready to get into air conditioning and find something cold to drink. Would recommend it to anyone to loves movies and/or beautiful parks.

My college age daughter and I highly recommend the Walking Tour in Central Park. We had a fabulous tour guide who was personable and highly knowledgeable about the movie and TV filming locations throughout the park. She graciously and patiently took photos of any and all of the group members. We walked 2.5 miles, a great way to exercise and burn off the calories of the great NYC food while visiting this beautiful park. A great experience. Highly recommend it.

We were blessed with a beautiful day. Our guide was very informative and set a reasonable pace for all to follow. We learned much about the park's history and visited most of the "must see" sights while visiting the movie sights as well. The tour was planned to have 33 guests. My first impression was that was a bit too many. There were to be ten in our personal group but because of some poorly worded directions, two of our party could not find the meeting place. I'm not sure of actually how many we ended up with but it wasn't as unmanageable as I thought it would be. The meeting place is on the North side of 59th St. My only suggestion for the tour operators would be to clarify the meeting place and procedures....For out-of-towners, 59th St. and Central Park South are one in the same. We did not know this at the time. This confused at least two of our group enough to miss the tour and I actually had to get help from a cop. When we finally did find the meeting place, I expected someone to be holding "up" a blue flag or something but after five or so minutes of looking around and wondering if we were in the right place, we found our guide standing silently right in front of us holding a small blue cloth at chest level. I don't know how long she had been standing there! Keep in mind, there were hordes of people walking back and forth along the street and it was not easy to home-in on our guide. All in all, we had a great tour of the park and no one in our group had any real complaints.
