The best NYC tourist option available anywhere!!!!

I was stationed in Brooklyn with the military for three years and had dozens of visitors. I aways took them on this TV tour. It is the best value going. Not only do you get the movie information, but a great bus tour of lower Manhattan. It is constantly updated with the latest movies. I have taken this tour six times. This time I was on vacations in NY with my parents and their freinds. They thoroughly enjoyed it even though they had not seen many of the new release movies. The studio tour was just as great. We went to the Saturday Night Live studio the night after Sarah Palin was there!!! It was absolutely the highlight of our trip to New York!!!! Always is.

The dreadful hours wasted in NYC.....

I recently experienced the tv/movie sites + NBC studio tour and it was worth it for probably 20mins max. Most of the tour was just sitting in the bus driving past buildings and the sites. This means you barely even get to take the picture considering the bus is moving along while you try and the get the shot. Some of the information was very interesting and cool but overall, I expected it to be better. Also, we didnt actually go to ALL the places we were promised on the website before the booking. As for the NBC STUDIO, that was a disaster, they take you to a room which basically looked like a storage room with equipment lying around everywhere. At that point, I literally felt like I paid to sit in a messy room and be lectured on how NBC started. The facts they told us werent exactly..... fascinating. Just basic stuff you can look up on google, instead of having someone physically tell you in person. I would...NOT recommend this trip. It could be better if more effort was put into it.

As a true movie&Seinfeld buff I had a lot of fun. Our guide Gary was just really cool and friendly, and the mix of quiz, views from the bus, candies, stopovers and movie clips was excellent. The duration was good too as it shouldn't be too long neither too short. Just really really good value, thanks again to Gary. Just a thought: the filmmakers who celebrated NYC the most could well be Woody Allen, Martin Scorsese and Sidney Lumet. However, their NYC was more underground-sih than most and that could well be why they were mentioned very little in the tour. Maybe there could be a room for a 70s NYC movietour with those director's movies, the French connection and so on, unless the sights have changed too much. Anyway, thanks for the great experience!

TV Tour was awesome !!

Our host was Gary and he was excellent and very knowledgeable about all the sites. Really enjoyed the tour and a great way to see the city. Gary also helped take photos etc... and played trivia games etc.. thanks Gary !!!! The NBC studio was OK, I enjoyed seeing the SNL set and even saw some cast members rehearsing. Also thought the News Studio was interesting to see. The rest of the tour was a bit slow though, mainly traveling on elevators and going through security and then watching a pre recorded information video. Overall thoroughly enjoyed this package and recommend it to anyone.

Great day out, when you're tired from travelling

We booked this for our family of 2 adults, 16yr old girl & 18yr old boy as a way to get over jet lag from the UK. Very easy to fly to NY, arrive midnight, go to bed & next day do this relaxing tour of NY. Learnt a lot about things that I didn't expect to hear about, and even more than I expected to hear about the various shows/films depicted in NY. Had a rep called Gary who had a lot of interesting and entertaining information. All done very seamlessly so you didn't notice the time passing at all. We stopped at 4 or 5 locations to get out and stretch our legs and talk more about the area/shows in question and sometimes to buy food or drink. Bus tour ended and we then went to have a late lunch and then make our own way to the NBC studio which was only a couple of blocks away. Having pre-booked the time of our NBC tour we arrived too early and were able to change it for an earlier tour. Not quite as interesting as the bus tour but for those more familiar with the tv live shows it seemed very stimulating. Again learnt a lot and also watched a set being built and a rehearsal of one of the shows which was the best bit for us. Do ask questions as they give a lot more information if you can all get talking. Overall I would recommend this to anyone because although our 18yr old boy was the least interested in this kind of thing compared to us, it was still a great way to pass the day when you're weary, but want to make the most of your visit to NY.

I wasn't really very excited about this tour, but my two young adult daughters wanted to go, so go we did. And I am so glad! It wasn't just a pointing out of the sites used in films and tv shows, but a wonderful tour of the city itself. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and taught us about the different parts of the city as we traveled around. The stop for authentic New York style pizza was unexpected, but delightful and delicious! The clips from movies and television shows shown on the bus helped us to recall the things we were seeing. We spent another full day earlier doing hop on-hop off tours (4 in one day) and if we were to choose again, we'd skip them and go for this TV/Movie Site tour only. The only negative was the inability to get into an NBC tour that worked for our schedule after paying for it! The cost was so low that we just ate the expense, but it was frustrating to have to pay for it one place, and try to schedule it another. Didn't work out for us. But we highly recommend the TV/Movie Sites tour.

Our Tour Guide Gary made the whole time really fun, with Trivia questions, playing video clips and theme songs during the drive. It was great that we got on and off the bus several times and the time flew by. We got to see so many places and learn many interesting little tidbits.
