Travelling with my teenager daughter we both enjoyed the New York Movie/TV sites & ABC Tour. Especially enjoyed the humour of the movie/tv guide. Enjoyed returning to Ellen's diner (where the tour started) for dinner. ABC Tour was enjoyable but a little too large a group.
Rating: 4 Tour guide was excellent.

On a winter day that was better spent mostly inside, this was a pretty good way to spend it. We 1st did the NBC tour, which we were a little disapointed in. There were way too many people in the goup (30) and we felt we wasted a lot of time trying to fit everyone in 2 elevators, in between short views of a few stuidos. We had 2 'guides'; one of whom was new and nervous and lacking personality. The TV/Movie tour was better for the most part. The 'guide' seemed to ramble a little too much and could not get the video player to work right on the bus. We felt that it would have MUCH more insteresting to see a film clip, with an explanation of what we would be seeing and THEN see it in person. We really enjoyed seeing so much of NYC. We are out-door people, so we were glad we were not doing this on a warm sunny day. Michael & Mary
Rating: 1 NBC Studio Tours was AWEFUL!!

My family attended the New York TV/Movie Sites and NBC Studio Tour on 2/20/08. The movie sites tour was very good. What a great way to see the beatiful city! Our tour guide, Jessica, was upbeat, knowledgable and full of interesting information. We got off the bus on three occasions to get a better view of a couple of sites and to take pictures. We loved it and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting New York City! The NBC studio tour was the low point of an otherwise fabulous vacation. We arrived at the tour a half hour before show time as requested when we booked our tickets. The 3:30 tour before our 4:00 tour was not full, so the staff member immediately printed out 3:30 tickets for our family and told us to run to the area where the tour was just leaving. (She didn't ask if we wanted to do this nor did she tell us there were no bathroom anywhere in the vacinity!) We were bruskly told to get in line and were ushered in to a small theater to view an approximately 10 minute-very boring !-movie by hosted by Meridith Viera and Matt Lauer about the history of NBC. We were then told the "rules" by the staff--NO eating, drinking, gum chewing, cell phones off, (these seemed reasonable) and no bathrooms for the next hour. We were then ushered to elevators and through security by a young man who was making rude comments to several members of the people in our tour. He obviously hated his job. The tour itself showed us a control room, a film clip on how a costume mask was made, a green screen and news desk.. We saw the inside of one set--Saturday Night Live--definitely the highlight of this tour--but that was it!. It was totally not worth our time or money. The pages were either extrememly unprofessional or full of inane comments. I would NEVER recommend the combo tour--(only the movie sites portion of the tour) to anyone!

The movie/tv tour was great. Tour guide Brian was knowledgeable. NBC studio tour was somewhat disappointing. We were misguided several times by the tour guide and it was even difficult to find the start of the tour. After sitting and waiting for 25 minutes per the tour guide instructions, we were told we needed to stand on line and get tickets and we almost missed the tour

We really enjoyed our tour for the Movies and TV Bus Tour that left outside of Ellen's Diner. I really think the tour was too dispersed though. Instead of stopping to get out and visit some of the places showed, we only got out and saw maybe like 3 places on the tour.... I think it would have been much better if we got out and spent like a half an hour at 5 or 6 places.... like actually go up to the empire state building top or whatever. My boyfriend is from out West and would have LOVED to go inside the Ghostbusters firehouse, but we only drove by for like 5 seconds. That was slightly heartbreaking for him! We loved getting to see different areas of the city and hearing about where different movies and TV shows had filmed; but I think a quality - in-depth tour of a FEW places (maybe like 5-7) would be better than such a high quantity tour of like 35 like we saw but for like less than a minute each for most of them!!!! Our tour guide was awesome... Gary maybe? Dark haired and glasses. Very funny and knowledgeable! Looking forward to going on more tours in the future! =) Thanks again!

We truly enjoyed our city tour. The guide is knowledgable and engaging. We were surprised that the promised 3.5 h tour started at 11:15 and ended at 14:00. Either amend your ads or the instructions you give your guides to abide by the timetable and commitment.
