Sex and the City Hotspots

Had a great time on this tour, in no small part because our host/guide was amazing! She was friendly, entertaining and very knowledgeable about the series; offering lots of tidbits of information about the show that I wasn't aware of. You don't get to see Carrie's house which I thought you would but the host explains why. I would suggest you book an early tour if you are going in winter...ours was at 3pm and it was dark by the end of it. The tour really brings the show to life and it's good fun to be be surrounded by other fans. My fella didn't enjoy himself as he has never seen an episode of SATC but I dragged him along regardless. Maybe only suitable for true fans. And amazingly, while 'sex shopping' in the West Village who should get into a cab but Sarah Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick and their son! Result!

This was the best part of my trip to new York. I didn't do much other sightseeing as I've been there before and this was primarily a shopping trip but this tour was a highlight. Our tour guide was excellent, can't remember her name. It was great being reminded of all the secens in the movie but really we got to see parts of New york that you would never usually see like the meat packing district and the west village. Most importantly, as though on cue, we saw SJP herself! She lives just around the corner from the Pleaseure Chest which is one of the stops and she came to the top of the street with hubby and son and got a cab. She is tiny! I Definitely recommend this tour.

My friend and I came to NY on a girls weekend away and we took the SATC tour last Sunday. Apart from waiting at the wrong side of the road to meet up with the group, we had a great time. Emily - our host - was very enthusiastic and helpful with all SATC and non-SATC related questions. We saw SATC clips right when we came up to the real location and Emily gave lots of background information. The group even saw SJP and Matthew Broderick getting into a taxi, although we missed them :-( The cupcakes were divine!!

Ok so my husband has had to sit and suffer through the entire box set of Sex and the City several times and unfortunately for him, when we decided to come to NY and I read about this tour, his fate was sealed and he was going to have to suffer through this as well. I'm so glad we went - it was great to be able to watch clips of the show and then look out the window and see the actual locations they were filmed at. There were also some great behind the scenes anecdotes. Our guide, Emily, was brilliant - you could tell she really knew her stuff - and our driver Metz was great too. I really did enjoy it all but if I had to choose one favourite bit it would be the walk around the Village and then having a cupcake in the park (extremely yum by the way!). It's not part of the tour (presumably because it would drive the residents insane) but we even had time to nip down Perry St and take a photo of "Carrie's apartment". If you're wondering whether or not to go on this tour, I would say if you are a proper fan, you'll really enjoy it. If you just sort of watched the show from time to time you might not really "get" everything (some of the places you go are really only part of the show in small ways, not part of the big moments in the show), but you'll still have a good time. Plus even my long-suffering husband agreed it was a good tour of different parts of the city if nothing else. We would say though that the morning tours are probably better, since you can't really see as much when it drops dark.

Our tour guide, Emily, was a delight. We had terrible traffic but it turned out to be a plus because Emily filled us in on so many details about the city and the show that we wouldn't have heard. In our group of friends, some of us were more avid fans of Sex in the City than others, but the tour was fun and informational for all of us. Besides just the places where things occurred in the show, we learned some of the history of the changes in the city like in the Meat Packing District that is now an upscale residential and commercial neighborhood. It was a fun way to spend the afternoon.

3:00 pm tour in November is not a good choise as it is too dark after 5:00 pm to see sights. The guide could have put more effort in personal presentation skills, as Sex and the City movie is watched by a fashion concsious crowd. Manolo Blahnik made a fortune selling blue satin shoes that pulled him out of recession, it would be worth mentioning/stopping by. The bus had an opportunity to play clips from the show: why not to make a lovely presentation focusing on each character, create teams, interact with the audience, print some maps, play some music. The complexity of the characters, love to New York and ability to live and laugh were not shown to a full bus of people that came from all over the world to pay the tribute to a cultural phenomenon the show became. The tour was divorced from reality of who was the audience, and why these people paid $$$ to travel to NY and see it from SATC side. It is really damaging to the show to denominate it to a sex toy/Cosmo/cupcake agenda. I will not recommend.

The tour was very interesting and our tour guide was amazing! I recommend it to everybody who likes the show or even other people who want to visit New York and have an idea of all the great places to visit on your own afterwards!

The tour guide did an excellent job the entire tour! She was very knowledgeable on the show, as well as on the city and the hotspots, both relating to Sex and the City and other popular tv shows. She had high energy and was very freindly, willing to take group photos at each stop! This tour was an excellent way to not only see locations on Sex and the City but several other popluar New York City spots! The cupcakes were delicious and the cosmos were yummy! The only thing missing was Carrie's stoop!:( I was disappointed to not get a photo in front of that but have tons of other great photos from popular spots on the show! Thanks for a great time! Our group included both Sex and the City fans and also those who have never watched the series or seen the movies but they had a great time as well! I would definately recommend this tour! It was well worth the money!

I really enjoyed the Sex and the City your, our guide Lindsey was very informative and funny. I also liked the way we got to see many parts of the city as well as the show hotspots. I would have preferred if we were shown some of the tv clips before seeing the actually places rather than after. Overall worth a go for any SATC fan!

I have always been a huge fan of SATC, and this was so much fun. I really liked Lindsey our tour guide. I loved seeing all the places around the city, and then seeing the clips they showed us. I also loved the HBO store at the end of the tour!
