Sex and the City Hotspots

(This is a translation from French) I was delighted to organnisation of "Sex and the City Tour". The places visited are unusual and breaks are great, not too short not too long. The image projection locating the place in the series was fun as the hostess! Thank you to her! A repeat when I'm bilingual to better understand.

it was good even for somebody that has never seen the show "like my husband" that tagged along :) we had our last meal in new york in one of the restaurants that we visited and it was mind blowing!! so thank you so much!!!

Had a great time, My children bought the tickets as a mothers day gift, I'm glad they did, although clearly I wasn't up on the show like almost everyone else, Lyndsay was very clever in the way she reminded me of every detail. Everyone in Australia was very jealous that I would be doing this tour, I am happy to report back to them how great it was, Thank You Prue Miles

My sisters and I enjoyed the tour. It brought you to many different neighborhoods in the city and gave you brief glimpses of the many locations Sex and the City was filmed. The tour guide was funny and knowledgeable about the show and the areas we visited. I loved stopping at the bar for a Cosmo- the ultimate "girls" outing!

We were super excited about this tour after reading the reviews but i'm afraid it fell short of our expectation. The day started with not much of a greeting from the girl checking us in and then being told to "stand over there" and "move over" where was the "welcome to the SATC hotspots tour" or please or thank you's? The reason it felt short of our expectation, it all felt a bit flat, the bus was full with a variety of ages but everyone was very quiet. The tour guide Lyndsey obviously knew her stuff as she said she had been doing it for four years. I know there is limited time to stop but by the time we got off the bus there wasn't much time to look around. We weren't impressed with the Cosmos that cost $9 each. Unfortunately the dvd player showing the clips wasn' t working very well.It would have been nice to have music from the films and show playing in the background. Quite a number of places from the show no longer exist so you are just shown where they were, I know this can't be helped but all in all I felt I could have googled hot spots and visited them ourselves. I am a regular NY vistitor that has been on a variety of tours and this is my least favourite. Maybe its because i'm comparing to other tours , I know we are 40 but we still know to have fun!

it would have been nice to see where Carrie's apartment was located.

I would highly recommend this tour to any of my friends. The guide was great, the experience was fun, and we saw boatloads of the city. What a fun tour!

The bus tour was really fun and had a lot of different stops. It was so interesting to see a lot of the locations of the show and the guide told us cool facts and storys about the spots and the show. If you are a real fan you have to go on the tour.

Loved the show and were very keen to do tour. Guide hot and cranky. Most 'sights' glimpsed as the bus went past. Stop at sex shop, empty restaurant to take photos, magnolia bakery then Cosmo in a bar. Really ordinary.

I went on this tour with my partner, because Sex and The City has been in my life since I was in my early 20's. I'm now 30, and I still watch it (less often I admit, but mainly because I know nearly every episode off by heart! I guess finally, I am moving on from it a little...who would have thought that was possible?!). This was my first time in New York, and New York reminded me so much of the show. We jumped on the bus full of mainly women, but of course there were the odd boyfriend/ husband/date as well. At first, everyone on the bus seemed quite shy, having just got on board. We had a really lovely host, who reminded me of Carrie herself, and she knew EVERYTHING about the show. She was trying very hard, and I felt because we were all a little shy, she wasn't given the proper response she deserved until about an hour into the tour. I personally think, maybe if we could bring champagne on the bus, or everyone gets a glass on arrival, this might help get things started! The host took us all over New York, showing parts of the movie on the TVs, and then pointing them out as we stopped/ drove past. I liked this as you really got the feel of it all, but sometimes I couldn't figure out where the place was she was pointing at as we would drive quickly past. The stops felt rushed, and I wish we could stop for slightly longer. We stopped at the Sex shop and the Pizza Shop from the show. Both I wanted to see, but we only had 10 minutes or so to do both. My boyfriend and I found ourselves running from 1 to the other to try and get pizza, and visit the sex store. (The pizza is divine, do try it!) We stopped at the lovely cupcake shop, it's amazing and I went back on my own 2 more times during our stay in New York. You get a cupcake as a present as well which is a nice touch. You also stop in Aiden's bar for cocktails, which are already made and ready to go (Cosmopolitans of course!). It feels slightly rushed again, as everyone needed to use the bathroom and also wanted a cocktail...in 20 minutes. An extra 10 minutes would help as we all know how long the wait is to go to the girls toilet! So to sum this up, the stops are great, it would just be nice if they were longer. I thought the day was really good for those new to New York, as it takes you into many of the areas that you may not have seen, and this allowed us to plan the rest of our time there. We made our way back to some of these suburbs, where as we never would have known to do this. I felt I had seen everything I wanted to see to do with Sex and the City, except Carrie's Front Door steps...which is not on the tour, but this is something you will have to find the address for and look for yourself, which is fun to do anyway if you like exploring, like me. All in all, loved it, I recommend it, have fun...and my biggest advice, get into it!
