It was a wonderful experience. The guide Marc was great. Much of the soprano television show comes alive. The place where Chris was shot, AJ 's school, the church of father Phil, the place where Ralphie dumped the body of the striptease dancer en last but not least the Bada Bing. We had a wonderful time and every sopranofan should make this tour. Herman en Willie Poelma

Great excursion for Sopranos fans

We arrived at 9.30 am for a 10.00 am Friday tour. The meeting place (by the needle and button statue in the Garment district) was easy to find, as was Marc Baron, our tour guide. We checked in with Marc then went down the street to meet Joe Gannascoli who was selling his wares from the back of his SUV. He just says "What can I get you?", you say "a copy of your book", then he says "what else?", you say "a signed photo", "a Sopranos license plate" and this goes on until you've had enough. $20 an item. Then you can get a photo or two and it's onto the coach for the start of the official tour. It was a beautiful day, which obviously made things much better. Marc's detailed commentary and trivia questions (with regular prize questions) were fun and we got a great insight into the production side as well as the link between locations and the show. Yes, they show the video clips *after* visiting a particular location but that wasn't really a problem for us. The coach regularly stops and/or slows down for photo opportunities (Muffler Man, Pizzaland, AJ's school, Cleveland Auto Body and more). We got off the coach at certain locations: outside the Skyway Diner where Christopher got shot, but we we told not to go in (apparently the diner doesn't pay for the tour to bring its punters in...); outside Satriales (now a parking lot), Big Pussy's 'FBI alley', and Father Phil's parish church; at Holsten's Diner and of course, Satin Dolls/ the Bada Bing! The visit to the diner was great: the friendly staff welcomed us with onion rings and we all got to sit in Tony's booth, which they keep empty for the tour. We were able to buy food to go, and Sopranos merchandise was on sale. Before we arrived at Satin Dolls we had to sign a document stating that we understood the rules and conditions of the visit (no photography inside, minimum age of 21 and so on). You get 30 minutes at the Bing, which wasn't a problem for us as we sat at the bar and had a couple of beers (a bottle of Corona was $4, $5 with the tip. Frankly, I was expecting it to be more expensive). The barmaid was friendly and efficient and it was fun/an experience watching the dancers for a while. I was expecting them to be all over us for tips, but they kept their distance. I assume you could call them over for a chat/dance if you wanted that and were prepared to tip. We didn't go into the owner's back room for the merchandise, but many did. We preferred to get some pictures under the signs outside and around the back where Ralph killed the girl and where Patsy escaped from the hit in the Blue Comet. We were back in New York at 2.15 pm, having thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Now, back home, we're re-watching the Sopranos on DVD and it's great to say "Hey! I was there! Conclusion? If you are a Sopranos fan, do the tour! You won't regret it.

Highly recommend for the Sopranos fan. Actor from The Sopranos gave the tour and was extremely knowledgeable and interesting. We took my 16 year old son who loves The Sopranos and it was a real treat for him - he especially liked meeting the actor who played Vito before the tour and was able to get a picture with him.

Vito robbed us!!!!

I booked the tour as I had previously been on the SATC tour and really enjoyed it. My husband and I loved The Sopranos and thought it would be a bit of fun. When we arrived for the bus, we were told to go around the corner and we would meet a big star from the show. Excitement!!! Vito was standing at the back of his car and looked like he was selling memorabilia... people were queuing up to meet him and get their photos taken. When it was our turn the first thing he said was "What do you want?", so we felt obliged to buy something. A numberplate of the Bada Bing and an A4 coloured print off picture of the cast signed by Vito totalled $40. Once we paid THEN we could get the photo. I was genuinely shocked! A bit of a scam if you ask me! The rest of the tour went well, the guide was very knowledgeable, so much so I felt like I'd missed out on parts (and I've watched the entire series!), we saw lots of sites used in the show. For a fanatic it's a great tour. The highlight for me was the diner in the last scene. It was great to go in and see the booth were Tony sat!! If you like The Sopranos, go on the tour. If you love The Sopranos, you'd be mad to miss it!

We were 'WHACKED' by this tour.

Naturally, this was a tour for enthusiasts, but you didn't have to be a complete Sopranos nerd to enjoy it. Our guide, Marc, is an actor and actually had played a number of small roles in the series. He seems to know EVERYTHING about the programme, and guided the tour with genuine humour. Clips from the show were played at the locations at which they were filmed, which made it really interesting. We even got to visit the diner in which the final scene takes place (they sell the best homemade ice cream), not to mention the Bada Bing. Would recommend this to Soprano fans.
