Informative - but the bus was hot & cramped

Really enjoyed the tour and it was great to see the sites as advertised. But I must say the bus was hot and cramped! And this really reduced my enjoyment of the tour overall, as alot of time of time is spent on the bus.

Second time round - just as good!

This is the second time I have been on the Sopranos Tour so that in itself should tell you it is worth going on. This time I took my wife (also a Sopranos fan) on the tour. The tour was slightly different this time round in that we visited additional sites from the final series of The Sopranos, including Holstens Diner where the final scene was shot (the onion rings were lovely)! Starting in Midtown Manhattan, the tour visited all of the main locations from the show you would expect, including the Bada Bing. The tour guide was informative, knowledgable about the show (and TV / film in general), and made the tour good fun. It's well worth going on if you're a fan of The Sopranos. Highly recommended, and added bonus - meeting Vito Spatafore before the tour started.

A great time!!

The tour guide was a lot of fun and my friend and I had a wonderful time. The only thing that would have made it more enjoyable would have been a more enthusiastic group, but neither of us have any complaints and would definitely go again!

A must for Sopranos fans

Loved this tour although felt it was perhaps a little long as we were out for nearly 5 hours in the end (though to be fair traffic getting back into NYC added an hour which obviously can't be helped). It was great to meet "Vito" at the start of the tour. Really enjoyed seeing all the different Sopranos spots - I really miss the show so it was good to relive some of the old episodes. Highlights were Halston's (i.e. THE diner) and for my brother it was definitely the Bada Bing (surprise, surprise!). Got some fantastic photos to show to fellow Sopranos fans back here in New Zealand and they have all been amazed to hear these places actually exist and aren't just sets at a studio. Our tour guide definitely knew his stuff - I'd just finished reading the Sopranos book and of course had watched every episode so thought I was pretty clued up... but apparently not as much as I thought. ;) Definitely a must for any Sopranos fan!

Interesting tour

Evaluating the whole tour I must say it was quite interesting and much info was provided in order to satisfy everybody's curiosity, and Marc Baron was an outstanding tour guide. The onion rings provided at Holstens were a very nice surprise, however the stop should had been longer. The worst thing was the appearance of "Vito" before catching the bus, although no word was said, you couldn't take a picture with him unless you bought some of his stuff, completely unofficial (no HBO mechandising at all) and honestly I think 20 bucks for a signed picture is abusive, I can't figure out how much he charged for the fake Bada bing plates or his t-shirts, he seemed very greedy and not very nice, he didn't look at you until you were giving him the money.

We really enjoyed the tour, it was great to see some of the locations and parts of New Jersey. We thought the tour was a bit too long.

Too long

Our tour guide although entertaining had a lot of worthless trivia on things that were not of interest to the group. He supposedly had appeared on a few episodes of the show and tried to give us unusual insight on things that were not relevant or interesting. Our bus driver got lost on 2 occassions causing our tour to go almost 2 hrs. longer than planned. This was a huge inconvenience because this messed up our plans for later in that day. We had tickets and were very late to our next activity. The bus driver did not drop us off in front of the HBO store as we were told he would so by the time we got there...we ran several blocks , the store was closed and we were unable to purchase memorabilia from the show and had a flight early that next day so we were unable to go to the store at all. We did meet the character that played VITO on the show. We were excited about this but when when were told to go back and meet him he asked for people to not take pictures unless they paid for them. This was wrong on so many levels because he was standing on a public street selling merchandise out of the back of his car. He responded very angrily and threw his hand up to block the shots. It really put a damper on the beginning on the activity. We were not impressed by his behavior. We thought he represented the event in a very negative light. Although it was interesting and fun to see many of the sights we would probably not recommend this event to others.
