Felt Like Gilligan...3 hour tour?
Wed, Aug 1, 07   3:00 PM mygolfer Male 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
Our day started with the guide singing the Gilligan's Island theme. We arrived early and others later but when we got on the bus it was a free for all with everyone dashing across the street to be the first on the bus. Not orderly like other bus tours we were on with Grayline. Then the temperature on the bus was warm--HOT. Air conditioner was broken. Microphone on the bus cut out very often. We had to stop because bus was over heating so we went on a walking tour.. Then the tour took on a Jamacia bus ride feel when we stopped at a rice pudding store that was in some movie and were a captive consumer of Rice Pudding. At least in Jamacia they sell you beer. Finally back on the bus, nearly everyone was ready to get back but not before one more walking tour. This was taken about 3 and a half hours into our 3 hour tour. Granted traffic was bad, but wasn't that taken into consideration. I'm sure traffic is always that bad at our time of day. And the time wouldn't have been bad had the temperature on the bus been cooler. By the time we arrived back in the Time Square area people were jumping off the bus whenever the bus would stop in traffic. My wife and daughter and I also did the same because we had a dinner date at 8 and it was already 7 and we needed to freshen up because of sweating while on the bus. Not a very enjoyable tour and now I have a feeling of how Gilligan might have felt on the island...

Great Tour

This was a lot of fun. Our tour director was great: she was very knowledgeable and knew a lot of inside information because she works in the industry. My favorite stops were the Huxtable stoop and Rice to Riches. We even went back for more rice pudding the next day. It is also a good quick tour of some different neighborhoods in NYC. Thanks!

Loved it

We absolutely loved this tour and would recommend it to friends. In fact, I already have. My boys are aspiring actors and movie nuts and they found it informative, fun, lively (great tour guide, by the way) and well worth the money. We visit Manhattan frequently but had never been to many of the featured neighborhoods, so it really broadened our perspective on the city. Thank you!

Interest tour of NYC with a history of the movies
Tue, Dec 26, 06   11:00 AM mwint1 Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
This tour started slow but as the tour went on it became more interesting. A great chance to see the city south of the Park and learn a little history about the movies and tv shows filmed in NYC. The stops to show different highlights helped make the tour go quicker.

Great tour and enthusiastic tour guide!

I went on this tour with my husband, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable about all of the sites on the tour, and I was surprised at how much I also learned about the city itself. Highlights were the Huxtables' house from The Cosby Show and the apartment from Friends. Since we attended the tour a few days before the anniversary of 9/11, there was a lot of extra traffic in the city. Our guide and driver were kind enough to allow us to exit the tour early (after ensuring we were safely pulled over at a regular bus stop) so that we would not miss any of our other scheduled activities for the day.

I preferred to be on the smaller bus that we were put on, as opposed to the larger coach, so I was happy about that. Brian, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable about TV/movies, and as an actor, could provide a lot of insight into the behind-the-scenes information. He was very personable, very accommodating to special requests, and just overall seemed to have a lot of firsthand tidbits to share. My 19-yr-old daughter was most excited about the "Friends" apartment building, but I was most excited about the Cosby house and the "Wait Until Dark" apartment! This was worth our time and our money and we would recommend it as a way to see a lot of the Village area, too.

difficult for foreigners
Fri, Jan 6, 12   11:00 AM mvandyck Female 40-49 International Tourist(s) Family With Children
This tour should be very interesting for english speaking people but it's very difiicult for the others. A book or leaflet with photos and legends of the films or actors could help. The fact is also that translation of the titles of the films is very different in french and without written support we don't even understand what film it could be. I am ready to help you with translation. You should also ask the guides to speak slowlier.

Gary was awesome! He seemed to know everything you'd want to know about locations in New York and would also share with us interesting facts that we didn't realize we wanted to know at all! He seemed to really enjoy his job and have fun with it. The 3.5 hours flew by and we enjoyed every minute. This was my first time to New York City, so my reality of it was from movies and TV, and Gary brought those places to life for us! Thank you for providing such a fun tour and having such great people to lead them. Also our bus driver John was great!
