My wife and I went on the tour. It was fun, especially if you have seen the tv shows and movies...however, i felt that the tour was at a fast pace, so it was hard to digest the sites and take pictures, etc...it would have ben nice if they would have given us an itinerary and locations on a map...the :harmony" or "peace" cookies were tasty! would recommend the tour...especially with the entertainment.com discount |

Our guide was incredibly enthusiastic and informative, and provided a great insight into the city's film and tv locations.
The tour really helped me get my bearings, without walking for miles, as after one day in NY I was a bit disoriented.
Highlights were driving past Spook towers and the fire station from Ghostbusters, one of my boyfriend's favourite films, so he was happy for the rest of our trip! |

If you're only in the city for a short amount of time or you're not familiar with the areas, this is a great tour to view all the highlights with movie and TV trivia thrown in. Otherwise, buy a Metrocard and go out on the town yourself.
I read prior bad reviews about Jessica as a guide, but I didn't think she was that bad...until the end of the tour..."just so you know".
The tour promises to take you to the sites of various film and TV locations and it delivers. But the tour guide could really use a script to keep her from sounding so scatterbrained. Twice Jessica said she would do trivia with the group but then she'd forget because she remembered something else she was supposed to say. Also, since we paid to take a tour of these TV and movie sites, I don't think engaging the tour bus group in calling out the movies which featured NY locations is appropriate. It's like paying to take the SATs but then you have to provide your own questions and answers.
This company also offers a tour related strictly to Sex and the City. I emailed and asked if the Manhattan Movie and TV tour would include any SATC sites and Erika emailed to say that I just had to tell the guide what my group was interested in and we may be able to get more information about it on our tour. Jessica told us that we had to pay for the SATC tour if we wanted more information. Since parts of the tour we were on were bypassed due to seasonal schedules (i.e. Soup Nazi store) I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for some substitutions. I doubt it would greatly impact your other tour packages.
The cookies other reviewers raved about weren't that impressive. Black and white cookies can be found across state lines and they're not stale.
Also, Jessica kept promising she would tell us at the end of the tour what movies and shows were filming around the city. She did give us the run down but did not give us any locations in case we wanted to scout out the sets. I believe that list is free from City Hall. We should get photocopies or the opportunity to write down some areas where they're filming. And she listed primetime sitcoms as still in production. All the sitcoms currently airing finished taping mainly in March and some in April. Get your facts straight before giving out information like that.
Lastly, for those reviewers who said the movies referenced on the tour were too old, you've got to be kidding me. At least the movies are classics and have a decent chance of being recognized. And they appealed to both the older and younger crowds on the tour.
Overall, we enjoyed the tour but Jessica needs more polish as a guide.

I thought the tour was off to a slow start but the last part was really good and the short movieshots were good. It made me inspired to go home and rent loads of movies from manhattan. It was interesting to know a little abit the way of life in manhattan like how much it costs to live there and how new yorkers live a daily life.
I recommend it!
Thanks! |

I thoroughly enjoyed the tour - the tour guide was very knowledgable and friendly.
We saw the city in a different light as it takes you upper west and downtown - greenwich village. We went on the tour on a sunday which was ideal as we saw the New Yorkers enjoying there spare time walking their dogs, lunching, watching the kids play baseball - just a brilliant and relaxing time.
Anyway back to the tour! - great if you're a big 'Freinds' or 'Sienfeld' fan, you'll recognise the 'Friends' apartment straight away. Plenty of photo opportunites and we even got a black and white cookie on the bus!
When in the village you get the opportunity to 'star spot' - unfortunately we didn't see anyone famous walking their dog but a freind of mine did when she done the tour! |

I booked this for my daughter and neice, both 16. They had no idea what most of the movies discussed were. They have never even seen the Cosby Show. So, all they really got out of it was the building in Friends.
I would not recommend it for teenagers. They were bored, and actually, so were my sister and I who are in our 50's. I did not want to go into a Cheese store I never heard of, nor did I want to see 10 clips of the 1983 movie Ghostbusters! |

The tour was great! It was actually the second time I've taken it with different groups of people and different guides. Both times were excellent as they add a personal touch with their New York experiences. |

I liked the tour very much. I was a little disappointed with the TV shots as they were very quick and didn't exist at all for some of the stops (Cosby house, friends apartment, friends fountain). Other than that, I enjoyed the tour very much. |
