Fun!

The tour was very fun and informative. I would have liked to have gotten out of the bus a couple more times than we did, but other than that, it was great and I would definitely recommend it. I would, however, note that the tour has partnered with NBC Studios to give you both for $40. Unfortunately, we weren't told in advance and ended up paying the $38 for the TV/Movie Tour PLUS $18.50 for the NBC Studio Tour. Also, the NBC Studio Tour is a bit of a rip-off unless you're getting it practically for free through this combo offer.

Liked the fact that we saw many different neighborhoods around Manhattan. Also, liked seeing the clips as we drove by the location. Host was very knowledgeable, frendly and enthusiastic.

This tour has great family appeal & is well-paced!

I was pleasantly surprised to see how this tour can appeal do different ages and different ideas on what makes a city tour cool and interesting. You can see where I am heading with this....what 3+ hour activity can appeal to... a. a parent with her 9 year old son, who, yes, likes Spiderman but hates to walk in NYC (even though he resides in NYC), and ... b. his sixteen year old cousin from Australia who had ONLY 4 days in NYC and has arrived with great expectation to "do up the town". c. it's wintertime (around Jan. 19th) and the beach is not an option, nor is 3 hours in a museum an option (remember, little legs tire easily). What did I know? I've only lived in NYC for 22 years and have NEVER taken a movie site location tour in my life! There was alot of "a little somethings" for everyone. Our tour guide was really terrific - very upbeat and friendly. She had a great sense of humor and she had an amazing grasp for information and details. She shared many interesting details not only about NYC film scenes and movie stars, but also about the history of NYC locations and behind-scenes movie shoot details. I love NYC architecture and simply enjoyed looking out and up, at it all! - the tour is a wonderful way to see the city, and save your energy. It would have taken several days to make it to all the locations via subway and on foot...so the tour, is also a real time saver if you're short on time as a visiting tourist. As for my 9 year old: Naturally, any site having to do with "Spiderman" films, grabbed his attention. The presentation was kid friendly, and quite respectful of omitting certain references to adult words (acceptable to adults, but not for children), yet she was able to deliver the jist of things.. Little legs were not exhausted by 4 short excursions to on-site walking tours, just enough for a nine year old who resorted to his PSP in moments of rest from the presentation. The tour guide's riddles and rewards were also a great way to span the generations....as everyone hoped to win a lollipop or black and white cookie! Very smart move! As for my 16 year old neice, visiting NYC (for the first time) from Sidney, Australia: This was, in large part, the BIG BONANZA! Not only coming to see NYC for the first time ever, but to also see (and relate to) movie scene locations and an abundance of interesting movie trivia. Her camera was clicking and you should have seen the look of jaw-dropping awe and wonder! Priceless! I was happy, she was happy (that was my main goal) and my son...you could say, he throughly enjoyed trading a school day time with his cousin and a tour. He would highly reccomend it! Thanks again to the tour guide. I forget her name, but she was fabulous and carried the day. Please tell her that! Thanks!

Lovely Tour, also a great opportunity to see a lot of New York. Recommended for first time visitors. The only downside to the tour is that mostly old films and tv series are used in the tours.

Interesting but not amazing

The tour has been very funny, in part because the guide was very very pleasant and tried to do her best for us. About the tour, I can say that we saw a lot of locations that were part of a film, but many of them were not very known by us nor very interesting. But in general, the tour has been ok, because has allowed us to see the city through another point of view.

We had a true New Yorker as our tour guide and she was excellent! We couldn't take enough pictures! At every turn there was another movie location. There were only 4 stops on the trip (the highlight for us was going to the Friends Building), which was a bit of a shame since we wanted to get off and take pictures in most of the places we passed but that would understandably be impossible! We also got to watch clips from movies that were shot in New York so we could piece together what we saw with the movie - an excellent idea! At the end our tour guide asked us if we had any questions about other films she may have missed and she was able to answer all the questions we threw at her! There were some Law and Order enthusiasts on our tour too and our tour guide was able to show them where most of the locations were so if you're an obsessed fan make sure you tell your tour guide! The only thing we wished we could have done was go and do the Central Park tour - we didn't have time to book that tour so we missed out. Would be a great idea if they could somehow combine both tours or do a day long tour and do more New York sites - it was only 3 and a half hours long but we could have stayed on that tour all day! It was one of the highlights of our New York trip! And get ready to sing some showtunes on the bus!

Much better than I had expected

Being from NJ we tend to not to touristy like activities in NY but I wanted to have a father/daughter day with my 18 year old. I Googled what to do in NY with a teenager and your tour came up. I talked it over with her and we decided to do the TV/Movie tour. It was much better than I had expected and our tour guide was wonderful. She had so much knowledge, even on issues not related to the tour itself. I would recommend it to anyone.

Enjoyed the tour!

We really enjoyed the tour and saw a lot of areas of the city that we don't normally get to. Our tour guide, Brian, was really fun and enthusiastic and really knew his stuff. My group included my 2 daughters, both in their 20's, and they would have enjoyed the concentration being on more current shows. A number of the sights we saw were from older shows. But we did have a good time and would recommend it to friends.

Met my expectations and more

I was a little leery of signing up for a 3.5 hour tour but, when the tour was over, we were all thinking, is it over already? Obviously, the mark of a good tour. Our guide, Gary, was fantastic. In a filming mecca like NYC, it's virtually impossible to hit all the sites but felt the tour route was well selected and planned as it hit most of the "biggies" in the short time we were given. Besides being filming buffs, I wanted the secondary benefit of having my family see some of the streets and neighborhoods of NYC you miss from the subway. Again, that goal was well met. Gary was very organized, funny, and knowledgable as well as keeping us entertained during traffic times. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see the Midtown to SOHO area in coach bus comfort with the added bonus of seeing where some famous filming was done.

Okay

Access to sets where shows are being taped should be arranged as part of the tour. As well as the opportunity to meet an actor, performer etc. I feel it was a bit of a 'have' where we went to 'almost' places.
