A little look at New York
Thu, Mar 19, 09   11:00 AM Swatkin Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
For my teen, it was an interesting way to see some of New York. BUT We didn't go north of Central Park. Several sites were no more than estab. shots. Little / none of the show was filmed there. Lots of chatter about what's filming maybe somewhere. No history of the city. I enjoyed the east village -- hadn't seen that before. Over all it was okay.

For Die Hard TV and Movie Fans

There were advantages and disadvantages to the tour. I do watch a lot of tv and movies so I was interested in seeing where some of them took place. However, I wasn't familiar with the more recent tv and movies so I couldn't appreciate all of the locations. I think you would have to be a die hard fan of tv and movies, old and new to completely appreciate the tour. My husband and I did appreciate being able to sit on the bus and be off of our feet for a couple of hours because we'd been walking most of the time throughout our week long stay in New York. So it is a nice opportunity to relax for awhile and still see New York. We were able to get a quick tour of spots in New York we may not get to during our stay. However, if you do have time and the energy, it is probably better to get out and walk the streets. The view is much better. We only hopped off the bus a couple of times during the tour so that was a drawback. Our tour guide was Kimberly and she is energetic and enthusiastic and a die hard tv and movie fan herself. Our group wasn't into the sing along as much as Kimberly tried to get us to sing. I would recommend the tour for die hard fans who have a short amount of vacation time that want a preview of favorite tv and movie spots.Otherwise, get out and hoof it or find where your favorite spots are and just get to that location on your own.

Liked it Better Before

I have had the pleasure of doing the TV & Movie Tour twice before, once with my mother and once with my best friend. When my sister came up to the city to visit, I thought she would really enjoy the TV & Movie Tour- and since I really enjoyed the past two times, I wouldn't mind going again. However, the tour was very different than the last time. One of the most memorable parts (and what I was looking forward to the most) of the 3 hour tour was going up Central Park West and looking at celebrity homes. This time we never went above Columbus Circle. Normally I wouldn't mind being dropped off on Madison Ave. once the tour ends; however, since I took the tour on St. Patrick's Day, we were dropped off right in the middle of the parade. I live on 45th St., but since 5th Ave. was blocked off, I was required to walk far out of my way just to turn around and go back downtown. Overall, the experience was semi-enjoyable for me, but my sister seemed to enjoy her first time around.

This tour was awesome! The tour guide, Brian, really knew his stuff. I think he has seen every movie/tv show that has been filmed in NYC. We got to see a ton of stuff and it was nice to be able to get out and take some pictures as well. It was really great that they showed us clips of the places we were seeing. Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys movies/tv... and who doesn't?

I did this tour with my husband and two teenage daughters ages 16 and 13. Garry was our tour director and he was excellent. My daughters particularly enjoyed the tour as they are avid fans of friends, seinfeld, gossip girls and many of the movies that were mentioned. I enjoyed it because I got to see many areas of New York. I liked the stop for lunch at Ben's Pizza. The bus was very comfortable too. All in All this was a great experience for my family.

Great way to see NYC and learn TV/movie facts!

After seeing the great locations that the tour visits from a friend's NYC photos, we decided to book the tour and are so glad that we did. Along with getting great photos, our tour guide Gary pointed out lots of NYC TV/movie landmarks along the way that we never would have known about. Not only that, but Gary introduced us to some of the TV/flim lingo that helped us understand the locations better. Gary was extremely polite, easy to understand, funny and friendly! The tour was extremely well-organized and was a great way to see some of the city without walking! I would highly recommend this to anyone who is a TV/movie fan!

The tour guide was absolutely amazing. She knew so much about so many movies and shows (which is her job, I suppose - but she was more than informative, at least more than I expected out of a tour guide). She was funny, attentive, informative, and willing to answer any and all questions that I (or others) had on the tour. And the tour itself is especially nice if you want to see a bunch of Manhattan in one day since you go to various neighborhoods. I would recommend this to tourists and NYC residents if they've never done it before. Excellent job!
