Great TV and Movie Sites tour!
Mon, Oct 27, 08   11:00 AM LoriCampbell Female 50-59 International Tourist(s) Family Without Children
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the TV and Movie Sites tour. Our tour guide, Gary, was excellent - very knowledgeable, very personable, and very funny! It was great to see so many filming locations for well known TV shows and movies. It was also a great way to see Manhattan 'close up'. We also liked the opportunities to get off the bus and walk to some of the locations. "While seeing short film clips of locations was a good idea, some clips were just a little too brief and too quick. Also, being classic film lovers, we would have enjoyed seeing more locations where 'old movies' had been filmed, although the audience for these 'old movie' sites might be somewhat limited . Overall, it was a great tour and a great way to spend a few hours seeing the movie and TV sights of Manhattan.

To recommend for younger people and kids

The tour is great for younger peole and kids. My son (12) loved the FRIENDS location, but I missed "older" locations, especially the Number One NYC film maker which is Woody Allen. I would have appreciated locations from "Manhattan"or "Radio Days" - the Russian Tearoom, Elaine's, the Radio City Music Hall. There are other films/actors than Ghostbusters, Men in Black and Will Smith. So, while the kid was quite enchanted, I was a little bit disappointed, because I had expected more "typical" NY locations.

One of the highlights of our New York weekend.

This tour was one of the best 3.5 hours of our weekend. Our tour leader, Gary, was exceptionally knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and his love for this genre was evident in his anecdotes. He took the time to speak to everyone to get to know a bit about them. His personal touches were well-received. His delivery methods were timed well, and his speaking voice was very easy to listen to. Our driver (Joare? Jowel?) was also a great driver. Very smooth driving (sometimes difficult in downtown Manhattan) and he also fixed the DVD player! I would highly recommend this tour to everyone, whether you know a little or alot about the movies or TV. It was a most enjoyable afternoon.

This was an excellent trip enjoyed by our whole group. Our tour guide Gary was very entertaining and we thoroughly enjoyed the tour. We found it especially funny when he made us sing the Friends theme tune on a street corner :-) Would definately recommend this tour to other people its well worth the money!

I really enjoyed this experience. The reference to the movie clips / looking outside really helps you visualize where these films and shows were shot. The tour guide most definently made the tour much more enjoyable and entertaining.

The tour was a great way to get around and see some famous locations that have been filmed. Some of it was perhaps repetitive (the same shows and films being mentioned over and over) and would have been good if we had covered a greater area, but these are minor complaints. The best part was definitely our tour guide, Roseanne. She was completely entertaining, friendly and full of loads of information and trivia!

Very Informative & Fun

My friend and I undertook this tour as part of a five day stay in New York. From beginning to end the whole tour was great. Our female tour guide was friendly, comical and made the whole tour fun. The tour covered so much that tourists would possibly not see, or recognise, if making their own way around New York. The tour was well worth the cost, as I said before, the amount of information we were given was just wonderful - mind boggling in fact. We got some great 'photo's and would certainly recommend the tour to friends, or anyone viewing it on the website - it was a highlight of our trip to New York, and the memory will stay with us for a long time! Thank you OnLocation Tours!

Fun and Different

Although some of the movie references were a bit obscure, it was a fun tour with the added benefit of seeing Tribecca and Soho, places we would never have gone to but for the tour. Guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. We were pleasantly surprised to discover that the late morning tour included a pizza stop and a clean, luxury bus equipped with a restroom. Unless they are really plugged into current movies and TV shows, this is not a tour for the elderly. Plenty of opportunities for photos - we went with a group of out of town college kids and they loved it.
