Great opportunity to see more of NYC

We visit NYC from Connecticut often, however, this tour brought us to locations that we'd never seen in our travels!! For instance, parts of Greenwich Village off the beaten path, areas around Central Park, restaurants, etc. Our tour guide was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable and made the tour fun and interesting. It was so cool to see film locations from movies and t.v. shows where you didn't even notice a great NYC building or landmark in the background until it was pointed out to us on the tour!!

Tour worth taking

If you're interested in seeing TV show and movie filming locations first-hand, this is the tour to take. My group was loaded onto a comfortable coach (with bathroom facilities) and guided around Manhattan by a Broadway actress. She was fun, informative and friendly, so definitely worth tipping. The tour also provides a good way to see a large area of Manhattan. I would recommend taking this tour at the start of your visit to NY because while the coach does stop at several locations to allow you to take photos, there are many more you'll only get a glimpse of through the windows, so you might want to go back later. During location stops, the guide offered to take photos for those travelling solo or wanting to be in a picture with their fellow travellers.. She seemed to take a great shot every time which was a relief! It's sometimes possible to take photos through the coach window, but they are tinted (and a bit dirty) so the pictures won't always be clear or in focus. Don't expect the guide to point out many - or any - "Seinfeld" or "Sex and the City" spots on this tour. I understand that the same company offers separate tours for those TV shows. This one is more "Friends" focused. After taking this tour, I was amazed by the number of TV shows, movies and scenes shot, or at least set in NY. The tour takes a couple of hours and you really do see a lot of locations in that time. Besides the photo opportunity stops, the coach also pulled up for lunch, so you won't go hungry. $5 (approx) gets you a drink and a tasty slab of traditional NY pizza from a store located on the same street that scenes from "Lipstick Jungle" were shot. Money well spent!

Our tour guide, Gary, made each person on the tour know that he was interested in their specific interests. He addressed comments and important facts to each one of us as if the tour was tailor made. He was fantastic.

Fine if you're really keen on TV shows, but a little dull if you're not. On the other hand, it doubles as an interesting tour of parts of Manhattan.

Excellent Tour! Where you can get lunch.

This was a well organised tour which covers all sorts of films and tv sitcoms for all age groups. It was very obvious that the tour guide really knew what she was talking about. It was also great as the tour was up to date with the most recent films. The tour needs to advertise that there is an opportunity to get food. This was the only thing that nearly put us off going on the tour. There is an opportunity to get lunch - please tell people this! Would so recommend this tour as a great introduction to the city.

A nice way to see the city....

We brought our two teens on this tour, which was a nice introduction for them to the city. It's tough to rate since everyone's taste in television and movies is so different and certainly it must be tough for the tour planner to narrow down locations from decades' worth of content. We did enjoy the tour, the tour guide was lively and fun (Gary) and we would only offer the following suggestions: -Inform visitors of the name of each neighbourhood and perhaps one highlght. Sometimes it was mentioned, other times we had to ask. This helps the tour to double as an overall city tour. There were times we didn't know where we were. -A couple of the "get off" locations seemed unnecessary. Probably could shorten these and shorten the tour to three hours or even 2.5 hrs. It was a tad long. -Less ghostbusters trivia, unless reviews indicate this is a highlight for everyone other than the tour guide. -The 'Friends' apt was a great finale. I'm not so sure about the Cosby house. Use other reviews to determine if this is still as big a deal. -Ben's pizza was great for lunch. Super fast and organized, yummy. The tour description states the tour does NOT stop for food so this was a nice surprise (especially given the timing spanning the lunch hour). -The movie clips were a smart way to bridge the dull driving time. -Suggestion: offer trivia about the sorts of celebs that live in various neighbourhoods. There was a little of this but room for more. Overall very good and we would recommend to friends.

We had a fantastic time on this tour. I have already recommended this tour to several other friends and family members. Kymberly was an excellent guide too!
