My six year old son and I took the TV and movie tour on a Saturday. We got to see all of the sites that all of the other people mention so I won't be redundant by disucssing all of them at length. My son and I had a lot of fun. Here are some observations that I have not yet read by others. I think that because there are always such a wide cross section of tourists,the tour guides must cater to the greatest common denominator. Our guide was extremely plesant and friendly, but made no assumptions regarding our knowledge of show business or American popular culture in general. He asked us if we have ever heard of a bookstore called Barnes & Noble at one point. I dont think he was able to give as much detail or specifics about things for fear of some tour members not knowing what he was talking about. Our group was pretty "dead", so maybe he assumed we were all foreign and/or clueless. Id suggest a beginners and an advanced tour. Also, the tour was a bit movie-heavy in my opinion. So many of the TV classics were set in New York but not even mentioned, like Honeymooners, I Love Lucy, Dick Van Dyke and All in the Family. I understand that there may not be literally anything to see from those shows, but it could be mentioned that a certain show took place in a neighborhood as we drove through it. I would also like to hear about how to get tickets to talk-show/game shows that film in New York. My son looking forward to seeing where Who Wants to Be a Millioniare is filmed-but it wasn't mentioned. David Letterman's studio was within throwing distance of where the bus picked us up, but once again,not mentioned. Please don't think that from my comments that we disliked the tour. We enjoyed it a lot, and would do it again. I didn't want to write about the FRIENDS apartments for the 100th time or the yummy black and white cookie. I preferred to mention things and make comments that I did not see earlier. Also, a few weeks earlier, I singed up for the GM Motor club as alternaitve to AAA. One of the benefits of this club is access to an online Entertainment coupon book. I got a buy one get one free coupon for the tour from that site---which already paid for my motor club membership----awesome deal!

the tour was great! lou was an excellent tour guide- very fun. many in the group were from manhattan and still learned some new places in the city. a great activity for bachelorette parties!

The tour was pretty much what I expected. We were shown a lot of the sites where movie and TV show were actually shot. The guide included enough detail to be interesting and not so much as to be overwhelming. Our guide was very knowledgeable and was able to talk about each area in detail.

From the begining my daughter and I knew the tour would be fantastic. As soon as we got on the bus our guide began giving little facts about the show, the characters and the language used on the episodes. We found the little clips enjoyable and we were surprised at the few clips we didn't remember. We really liked learning inside tips about the show, and the characters on the show, especially those about their personal lives. The day was perfect for us and I highly recommend the tour for any mother and daughter duo, looking to have fun in New York.

Felt the tour was very well done. Everything was done in a timely and efficient manner. Our guide, Lou Matthews, was very entertaining and even sang us a song. The tour was very reasonably priced and I would recommend it to others.

I have to be really honest, I was not impressed. I purchased 3 tickets as a gift for my father's birthday. Myself, my father and a close family friend are huge fans of the show. I just don't think that the show captured the greatness of the show. I learned more about the New York skyline and the Polanski HWY than I did about the show.

The tour was fantastic for any Soprano's fan. Our guide, Marc Baron, was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and patient. He must have done this tour a thousand times, but it was obvious he enjoyed sharing his knowledge by the way he made it such a personal experience. Marc was also quite informative not only on the Soprano's but also many other aspects of movie history in both 'Joisey' and 'New Yaark'. The Soprano's trivia during the ride was fun, as was seeing sites like the Pork Shop without its dressing as well as learning quite a bit about the filming process (proximity of the locations to each other, 'bloopers' in continuity, reuse of locations etc.) It also really helped to see the locations and then see the clips from the show - really made it so much more exciting! Don't go in expecting to see live filming on set and bear in mind that this is mainly an industrial area that you are touring - but we went in with our eyes open and loved every minute of it. Being from Australia, we would not have been comfortable touring New Jersey on our own looking for these sites - this was a great way to see the neighbourhood and get a tasty cannoli in the bargain... Thank you,guys, for the experience!

It was nice to spend time with other fans of the show. I enjoyed visiting the Pleasure Chest, seeing Carrie's stoop, Bleeker Park and the cupcakes. I only wish we could have taken more pics of other stops. I know there were a lot of people on the tour, so it was hard to make stops and let us all on and off the but, but maybe you can consider a different kind of bus where windows can be opened to take pics. The guide was very nice. It was fun to meet people from Australia, Munich and Holland. I was taken to parts of the city I may not have seen otherwise.
Entertaining Excursion For Fans Sex and the City Hotspots

The Sex and the City NYC tour was worth the $36 ticket. We had a bright and funny tour guide and we were taken around the city on a relatively new and clean bus. We saw a lot of the different filming locations and were shown clips to refresh our memory on which scenes were filmed at those locations. We also made a few stops around the city. It was fun seeing where they taped all the scenes on Carrie's stoop, and our tour guide gladly took pictures of people sitting on the stoop. It was also neat having a Cosmo at O'Neils, Steve and Aiden's bar. We had to purchase the Cosmo additionally, but it was only $8. Oh, and we got to enjoy a free cupcake from Magnolia Bakery. There isn't time to really stop and wait in line at the bakery on the tour, so if this is something you want to do I would recommend planning additional time for that. Overall, we had a great experience and it was worth the time (3 hrs.) and money.

If you are a dedicated sex in the city fan you need to go on this tour. Even being from NYC I wouldn't have known all the locations shown on the tour. It was a really fun time.

My boyfriend reluctantly agreed to join me on the Sex and the City tour in NYC last weekend. (Happy to see there were 3 other men on the tour--it made it a little bit easier to swallow for him.) After the first 15 minutes of the tour, he was shouting out the trivia answers to Liz (our tour guide). We had a blast. It was our last day in the city and it was great to see all the different spots on the tour. The video clips were great to put all the pieces together and get that "ohhh yeah" response from the group.. Great JOB.
