Our driver was very informative about the history of what we were seeing. Very friendly. Very personable. The staff at the Red Barn was friendly as well.

When we have first-time visitors, we always do a carriage ride with Palmetto. This time our family specifically requested another tour, having enjoyed their first one so much. We took a different route (you never know what the route will be) and learned much more about our adopted city. Our guide, Troy, was charming, entertaining, and very knowledgeable. We heartily recommend a Palmetto carriage ride to anyone visiting this beautiful city.

We scheduled a private carriage ride for the four of us for the afternoon we arrived. Wonderful time. The Tour guide was very knowledgable and kept us engaged for the entire trip. Highly recommend.

I'm always concerned to go on horse drawn carriage rides because of not knowing how the animals are treated. You can never tell for sure, but the horses and mules (and chickens!) looked very healthy and the people there seemed to love them and know a lot about them. I hate that I can't remember our guide's name (short gray hair), but she was great. Very enthusiastic and entertaining. She knew a lot about Charleston history, threw in a few jokes, and was able to improvise when there was traffic, other carriages, etc. I would definitely go with Palmetto Carriage Works again.

The tour was great--I'm glad we purchased tickets with Palmetto. The carriage driver was excellent and very knowledgeable. Taking the tour is a good way to get an overview of all the important/interesting historical aspects of Charleston.

Highly recommend the private carriage ride. It was one of the highlights of our trip. My mother is 88 and this was a wonderful alternative to walking the town. Myrone was our guide and he was fabulous. We took his card because we would do the tour again and we'd ask for him if we're ever back to Charleston!

We decided to drive down to Charleston for the day. Looked up best rated carriage tours and Palmetto came up as #1 rated by CNN. We were not disappointed. Buying tickets was fast and easy. E-ticket appeared in my Iphone. Got to the tour location (very easy to find) Al was our tour guide. He was awesome. Very knowledgeable and entertaining. We would highly recommend this tour.

I have taken many friends on carriage tours. Be advised, your route will be determined by a lottery, so you may not see the "big & famous" homes or the waterfront. It is a disappointment to get the 2nd or 3rd choice tour route. The route we had went by the old jail and actually went through a low income housing complex??? This route is 1/4 the experience of the favorite waterfront route. But, there is nothing you can do, just know you are taking a chance on what you will see.

We signed up for the tour online. Not really sure what we were getting into. We selected the combination harbor tour but when we showed up at 3pm we were notified it would be tough to fit both in for the day. Something that was not obvious through the online signup process. We were only in Charleston for the day and when they found out we were with my 80 year old mother and wife with a broken ankle.. they really went out of their way to accommodate us. They were polite, professional and made our trip to Charleston veryy memorable.. Thanks very much! I highly recommend this experience.

We suggest getting your combo ticket online and taking the cruise first in the morning at 11:30. The crowd was manageable, and the ship had plenty of room. Everyone at both locations was friendly and helpful.

Our guide, Sam, was very knowledgeable and made the tour interesting. We had a limited amount of time in Charleston, and this was a great way to see as much as possible.

Overall, it was worth the money. I have had more enthusiastic tour guides in other cities, so it is not the greatest I've experienced. However, it was above average.
