I do this tour EVERY trip to CHS! Best one hour!

This is the third time we have taken this fantastic tour and it is different every time. There are 3 randomly chosen routes, but even the same route has a different flair with different guides. It is a relaxing and very educational tour of the city, giving you a glimpse of areas you might want to explore on foot. Palmetto does a very good job organizing their tours....not a long wait in the barn. We have purchased our tickets twice through Zerve, and that is definitely the way to go! It was easy to do online or on the phone and made scheduling our day much easier as there was very little waiting...in fact this past time (Thanksgiving weekend) we arrived early and Palmetto moved UP our tour time, even though they were very busy. The 4 hours of free parking near the barn is prime for shopping/dining after the tour. If you just do one CHS tour, make it Palmetto carriage ride and buy your tickets through Zerve !

Fun, relaxing, and informative

Our tour guide (Ben) was a local, very engaging and knowledgeable. The carriage was comfortable to ride in, although I'd suggest bringing a sweater in late afternoon in the fall - it gets chilly in the shade! Our route took us past dozens of beautiful houses, the battery, the market, the old armory, and several of Charleston's most impressive churches. Lots of interesting history of the city, including small details on architecture and the armory that I wouldn't otherwise have noticed. Well done!

Thank you so much for a great tour! Kari was terrific -- all of us enjoyed the ride, from the 5-year-old to gray-haired Nana & Papa! Rhyme and Reason led us on a grand adventure through the beautiful streets of Charleston, and we appreciated the additional parking time provided for us to shop at the Market. Y'all are great!!

My daughter, my mother, my husband, and I had a great time! We have done carriage tours before but this was the first private tour. It was well worth the extra few dollars to have our own carriage and guide.

The carriage ride is always a hit with our out-of-town guests, and we love it as well. We learn something new about the city and its history with each tour. The guides have so much knowledge to share and have a wonderful rapport with their customers. We heartily recommend this "touristy" experience to all Charleston visitors!

The carriage tour really gives you a feel for the city. We could have never seen what we saw on foot with small children. Worth the cost!

Carriage Ride is AMAZING and a MUST DO!
Sat, Nov 10, 12   9:00 AM jmillner Female 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
My mom, mother n law, and I traveled to Charleston this past weekend. The whole trip was great but we all agreed that the carriage ride was the best! We went in November and the weather was perfect! Our tour guide (Rebel) was beyond amazing. She knew her facts and told it in a story telling manner vs just straight information. We were on tour #1 and got to see a bunch of things. I didn't realize just how much history Charleston really has. Even if you are not a history buff, you will truly enjoy this tour. This is a must do when you come to Charleston!

Celebrating a 50th birthday!
Fri, Nov 9, 12   3:55 PM DebraPreis Female 40-49 Unspecified Couple on a Date
I booked a private carriage for my boyfriend's 50th birthday. It was a great surprise for him, and a FABULOUS excursion! The route we had took us by Rainbow Row and the places we wanted to see. We had so much fun, we would've done another tour for another route if we hadn't have had dinner reservations. Thank you for a wonderful time!

Carriage ride and harbor boat tour was awesome!

Our carriage tour guide, "Rebel" was terrific, as was Butterfinger our transporter. We toured the French Quarter, the Battery and Rainbow Row. I learned so much about the culture and history of the city. The harbor cruise was great as well. We saw fish and fowl, and the beautiful sights of the harbor. This history and beauty of the area was shared by the captain. Would recommend the tour to anyone!
