I've taken other carriage rides in Charleston, SC in the past and have always loved it! However, this tour guide was HORRIBLE - spoke in a monotone and acted like he didn't even want to be there!!!! DO NOT TAKE THIS TOUR!!!! |

This is the third time we have taken this fantastic tour and it is different every time. There are 3 randomly chosen routes, but even the same route has a different flair with different guides. It is a relaxing and very educational tour of the city, giving you a glimpse of areas you might want to explore on foot.
Palmetto does a very good job organizing their tours....not a long wait in the barn. We have purchased our tickets twice through Zerve, and that is definitely the way to go! It was easy to do online or on the phone and made scheduling our day much easier as there was very little waiting...in fact this past time (Thanksgiving weekend) we arrived early and Palmetto moved UP our tour time, even though they were very busy. The 4 hours of free parking near the barn is prime for shopping/dining after the tour.
If you just do one CHS tour, make it Palmetto carriage ride and buy your tickets through Zerve ! |

Our carriage tour guide, "Rebel" was terrific, as was Butterfinger our transporter. We toured the French Quarter, the Battery and Rainbow Row. I learned so much about the culture and history of the city. The harbor cruise was great as well. We saw fish and fowl, and the beautiful sights of the harbor. This history and beauty of the area was shared by the captain. Would recommend the tour to anyone! |

We truly enjoyed the tour of the battery. Our guide was very knowledgeable and she presented the area's history in a fun and engaging way. I have taken several carriage tours from different vendors in Charleston. This is by far one of the best. |

Adam was more concerned about saying hello to passing guides than attending to providing information to us. He was silent much of the tour and as we passed Rainbow Row, he did not mention it. Very uninformative. Since we had booked the combo tour, we were not able to go on the water due to wind, so we returned to have another carriage tour. We then had a great tour guide, even took the 1 hour ghost tour at 7pm, and the lady was super. There were 6 of us. All of your staff was great. |

Jody, our guide, was very knowledgeable and told interesting stories throughout the tour. All of the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The free four-hour parking (because we bought the tickets online) was nice and let us have dinner and walk around afterward. The guy who parked us even guessed who we are (had a list of who to expect) and confirmed by radio our carriage time. Highly recommend. |

A very enjoyable hour. The guide was informative and amusing. Charleston is a great place to visit with its historic antebellum atmosphere and the tour enhanced the whole experience. I would highly recommend a Palmetto Carriage tour. The free four hour parking which they extended to six for us was a great bonus. |

There were three of us in our group celebrating a granddaughter's 16th birthday. We always try to do a 'ride' of some sort when we visit a new city. Palmetto Carriage was extremely professional. We booked our tickets on line, and experienced no difficulty when we arrived. The website was clear to note that there is a 20 minute wait from the time you check in, so we were well versed on what would happen. Our carriage driver was extremely well educated in the history of Charleston and had humorus antedotes on many of the locations we saw. We would definitely do this again since we learned that the City 'manages' where each carriage ride will go and only allows for 20 carriages on the streets at a time. My husband has not stopped talking about what a great tour that was, and we have taken plenty. Well worth the time and effort ! |
