This is our second tour with this company and I am already looking forward to another one! Our guide both times was not only informative but had a sense of humor that made the ride that much more enjoyable. We will absolutely book with this company for future trips.

This carriage tour was a lovely way to see the city and get the"insider"information about the city! Impressed with the care of the horses and how organized the tours are. Would definitely do it again!

Palmetto Carriage Private Tour

This is a very fun way to experience some of Charleston's history. This was an annual Mother/Daughters weekend to Charleston and the private carriage tour is always a must. We requested Terri as our guide (she was our guide on a previous trip) and again, we were not disappointed. She is very knowledgeable of Charleston's history and enthusiastic about sharing that knowledge with others. Would recommend a private carriage tour to anyone wanting a little extra from the tour.

Professional, humorous, knowledgable

Our group of 7, 3 adults and 4 children all enjoyed the carriage ride. Smaller children may get bored, particularly if they are seated in the back of the carriage in the middle. Where you're seated for the most part won't be a big deal but will make a difference with kids. All in all, we had a great time. Driver was courteous, demonstrated historical knowledge delivered with wit. At times, must remember to either speak louder if facing forward, or turn and speak to passengers. Also be consistent so that others in the back can hear clearly as well.

Ben was a great guide and we learned a great deal from him! It could only have better if it was longer and had a bottle of wine with it! We highly recommend it.

There are 3 routes and you don't know which one you get until check in with carriage police. Seats are uncomfortable.

Fun and Informative Experience

We had out-of-town visitors who wanted to do a carriage tour. This one was recommended to me and we all enjoyed it very much. We were surprised by how much we saw in only an hour and the driver shared a lot of information about the history and the buildings. His attempts to be funny fell a little short, but all-in-all a good experience.

My daughter and I were in Charleston while visiting colleges in South Carolina. We only had one free afternoon and wanted to see as much as we could. This was a great way to get an overview of the area. Our guide, Al, was very pleasant, knowledgeable and informative.

Good but could be better

I loved the red barn with the carriages, but be prepared to be crammed completely shoulder to shoulder while you ride. I have taken this carriage tour twice now, and the first tour guide went over much more detail about the history than the last tour guide. Personally, I was disappointed with this experience with the lack of history told. The parking was nice and availability to pay online was nice as well.
