My friend had never been to Charleston and always wanted to take a carriage ride. My son lives in Charleston and recommended your company. The three of us had a wonderful time, you just can't absorb all the information you are given or see. I highly recommend that you order your tickets on line and have them ready when you get there. Saves alot of time and hassel. Plus we got 3 hours free parking. Great company. |

This is a very fun way to experience some of Charleston's history. This was an annual Mother/Daughters weekend to Charleston and the private carriage tour is always a must. We requested Terri as our guide (she was our guide on a previous trip) and again, we were not disappointed. She is very knowledgeable of Charleston's history and enthusiastic about sharing that knowledge with others. Would recommend a private carriage tour to anyone wanting a little extra from the tour. |

The trolley tour was nice enough, but we had a hard time hearing the tour guide since we were sitting in the back of the carriage. The business itself is awesome and I love the way they treat and really take care of their animals. The tour guide was great, we just wish he had a microphone or sound system of some sort because half the time we couldn't make out what he was saying. The tour itself wasn't amazing or anything. They take you on random tour routes throughout the city to keep the flow of traffic moving (understandable), so we just saw mostly some really nice houses down town and got a basic over all tour. We are local so we already know a lot of Charlseton's history, but for someone whose never been there I think the tour would have been enjoyable. Overall, it was ok. It was a nice way to spend a breezy evening sitting and touring some nice homes anyway. |

Our group of 7, 3 adults and 4 children all enjoyed the carriage ride. Smaller children may get bored, particularly if they are seated in the back of the carriage in the middle. Where you're seated for the most part won't be a big deal but will make a difference with kids. All in all, we had a great time. Driver was courteous, demonstrated historical knowledge delivered with wit. At times, must remember to either speak louder if facing forward, or turn and speak to passengers. Also be consistent so that others in the back can hear clearly as well. |

Our 22 month old daughter loved the carriage tour. We selected a private tour (in case she was uncooperative), but she enjoyed the entire trip. She was most impressed (of course) by the horse, but she also had fun watching the city sites from the rear of the carriage. |

This was a nice way to see some of the historic areas of Charleston with a multi-generational group. Even the kids thought some of the history and buildings were interesting. |

Ken was a knowledgeable guide. Enjoyable carriage ride. Staff was helpful, friendly, and pleasant. Will definitely take the carriage ride again, and will ask for Ken. Highly recommended. Palmetto went out of their way to accommodate changing needs. |

It is makes such a difference to have someone tell about what you are seeing in such a historic city. We rode through the streets by car admiring all of the buildings. On the carriage tour, the history of Charleston came to life as our guide provided the narration to truly understand the intriguing history of this magnificent city! Take the tour! You will love it!! |

Palmetto Carriage Works was right on time and very smooth. The driver/Tour director was well versed and had a very good speaking voice. He answered all the questions and had an apropriate sence of humor that all ages enjoyed. The hour long tour was just the right amountof time. I did not feel rushed and felt as though I got a really good feel for the history of Charleston. |

We have 3 children and we all had a great time. Our guide Jim Brain was excellent. He kept everyone engaged an laughing. It is a very well organized from the time you pull into the parking lot until you return from your carriage tour. |

We traveled to Charleston June 2012 as a group of 15 including seniors and children. We contacted Palmetto Carriage works prior to arriving, and they told us exactly what to do. We arrived for our carriage ride at 8:45 and were given a tour time of 9:15. They had an area where we could wait with restrooms and a few animals for the children to enjoy. The staff was very helpful and kind, especially the parking lot attendants. (This parking lot was a little tricky to find but once we found the signs they guided us right in.) We boarded right on time and had a nice tour of the city. We were assigned the riverfront. We didn't have a lot of time in the city, so this tour was just what we needed to see a lot of the city in a small amount of time. |

The tour was fantastic! We had a well-informed, witty guide. The mules were fun to watch and so well-behaved. My husband and I would highly recommend the Palmetto Carriage Co. tours! |

Charleston is lovely and needs to be seen as close-up as possible, even is the presentation is lackluster. Our guide was bland and unenthusiastic. I have taken these tours before, and this one taking us down through the projects of Charleston was not very impressive or interesting. Most of the information our guide gave us was only because we asked questions. |
