We couldn't be happier with our experience with Palmetto Carriage Works. The facilities are great, and we were really thrilled with how their animals were kept and treated. Our tour guide was awesome! He was a Charleston native and was extremely knowledgeable and fun...made us all laugh on many occasions while giving us tons of great info on the city. I really couldn't more highly recommend Palmetto Carriage Works!! |

We were very pleased with the professionalism and courtesy that was extended to us. Our guide was exceptional and held our interest all the way to the end. I am normally ready to end a tour about 2/3 the way through it. With this tour, I was not ready to end it when it ended. I could have continued listening and seeing the sites with our guide. Even though I made an error on date/time, the staff took care of us just as if I had not made an error. It was a perfect day to a wonderful few days in Charleston. Our short trip home to Murrells Inlet was enjoyable partly because of our terrific time on your tour! |

Our tour guide was absolutely priceless...she was knowledgeable, entertaining, great with the customers and the trip wouldn't have been the same with anyone else, I'm sure. I've told everyone about her and the tour. It was my most enjoyable part of my first trip to Charleston.
[As for the harbor tour portion of the combo ticket, we gave away out tickets and didn't take the tour. The personnel were not knowledgeable or helpful and the customers were being packed onto that tiny boat like they were sardines. I've also told everyone about that experience and to avoid it if possible.] |

First time in the city. We were hoping for a lot of information and we got it. Guide was good and would answer any questions. The mules were entertaining also in that they were brother and sister and would try and annoy each other every time we stopped for a site. |

We only had a short time to visit Charleston and the carriage tour gave us a quick overview which allowed us to identify a few attractions to later tour in greater detail. |

I had problems accessing NPS for Ft Singer and ended up on this web site. Comb appeared to be what I wanted since the harbour tour included Ft Sumter. The carriage ride was fantastic, and Jim our guide was the best. You can see my review on Tripadvisor. The harbour tour on the other hand, does go by Ft. Singer but Does NOT stop. We as well as another couple were very disappointed, and qfter an hour and a half on board I was unable to correct by getting the proper NPS ferry. That ruined the harbour tour for us. |

What better way to view Charleston and hear interesting anecdotes than in a horse drawn carriage! The guide was well informed and humorous, the horses - well, mules actually - are well cared for. Start your trip with this ride! |

We had Gay as our tour guide. She was great! So much so that I don't know if I'd like anyone else to guide the tour.
We would have done another tour, except you cannot determine which route you will go on. There is a lottery to determine the route. Can't have carriages wandering around Charleston like a wagon train and wouldn't want to do the same tour over again.
Recommend highly! |

We took the carriage and harbor tours. Even though it was pouring, the carriage was enjoyable. It was very informative. This carriage company along with the others are told which route around Charleston they can take for that particular trip. We got to take the tour around Rainbow Row and the Battery, the best tour in our opinion. If you are limited on time, just do the carriage ride. The harbor tour was nice but not necessary and it repeated a lot of the information heard on the carriage tour. Parking for the marina lot was confusing and not marked. |

Palmetto Carriage tries to squeeze too many customers on a carriage. They put four customers in each of the four rows. There is definitely not enough room for four customers to sit comfortably in a row. There should be no more than three customers in a row. We felt like we were packed in like sardines, which ruined the whole tour. Our tour narrator, Henry, was excellent. I am meeting my brother-in-law ans sister-in-law in Charleston in October for another visit. We will definitely not take the Palmetto Carriage tour. |
