| We were a small group of just four people. My Mom and I and a couple from Michigan. We were all history buffs and appreciated Karen's willingness to be flexible and work in some of the non-Civil War related history of lower Manhattan as it occured to her, and to us. I would recommend this tour to others. |

| Our guide was knowledgable and told us about New York's role in the Civil War as well as other information that came up as we were walking. It was well worth the money and the time. |

| It's such a joy to witness someone as passionate about history as Karen. Also, she is quite knowledgeable of all the various factors which lead to the War Between the States. This is most refreshing to hear as the current simplistic version equates South with bad and North with good. Her tour is quite a bit more invigorating than the usual two hours spent combing a museum. |

| Since it was just two of us on this tour, our guide was most amenable to being flexible and varying the regular tour of the area to incorporate interesting architecture which was our particular interest.
The guide was able to answer in-depth questions posed by us. She had a relaxed and friendly manner. The pace of the tour was appropriate to our ages and we had time to take photos along the route. |

| My time with Karen was well spent as we walked through downtown Manhattan, rich with history. All the stories, anecdotes and descriptions were finely detailed. I was especially pleased with the period cartoons that helped reinforce the emotion and conflicting opinions. This was a rare treat for those who appreciate the Civil War and the great ironies involved. There is so much to learn that we never hear of in traditional forums and public education. Truly an eye-opening experience and one not soon forgotten. I highly recommend it and consider is comparable to a crash course in New York history. |

| I really enjoyed the Revolutionary Era tour; the Civil War era tour didn't disappoint either. Always friendly and open to questions, she does a great job of sharing interesting tidbits and little known historical facts that tie in with familiar stories/happenings in history. I enjoyed myself and learned a lot. |

| My wife and I took this tour on May 13th. Our guide was very personable and approachable. She made us the center of her attention and was open to any questions, even if they didn't pertain to the current topic. Very warm personality and told about places and events with energy to keep it interesting. You can tell she enjoys what she does and we look forward to taking another historic walking tour on our next visit to NYC in 2010. |

| I have been to New York City many times growing up, but I have never been able to see it the way I did during our walking tour! It was a rainy, crappy day, but the tour was great! It was a small group of us, which made it better to interact with our guide, Karen. And she knew SO much about the city (even the best places to stay dry during the tour)! It was really cool to walk the older Colonial streets, and see the buildings that have stood through so much! You can forget just how much history has occured on that little island - but you really get to see it first hand when you walk through it like this.
My husband and I had a terrific time. We are history lovers anyway, but I think anyone would enjoy this tour. Just bring your walking shoes!!! |

| we very much enjoyed the tour because we were the only one on this tour and the guide was able to change the tour from its original concept to meet our individual knowledge. Besides that the guide was having a good knowledge about all we wanted to know and was speaking clearly in an very entertaining manner.
Thanks a lot
We will join other tours during our next stay. Especially if there will be an architectural tour
