My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. We did not know what to expect and this was our first tour of this type. The guide was extremely knowledgeable, informative and very interesting. She also had many visual aids depicting how Manhattan appeared during Revolutionary times.
We highly recommed this tour and plan to take another one with friends who are Civil War enthusiasts.
Great Job!!! |

OUR history brought to life - you can touch it (literally), hear about it, and gain interactive insights in the events that shaped the founding of the country. Very powerful. Deja- vu. Best 2 hours you can spend in Manhattan. |

We went on the tour to learn more about New York's past and we certainly did. Karen was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic and managed to convey the spirit and atmosphere of those times. Most recommended. |

The Revolutionary Era tour was of personal interest because of my own long-ago family ties to the city of that era, but, even beyond that, the narrative was informative, told with humor and illustrated with documents and newspapers from the Revolutionary era. The stroll through lower Manhattan took in places familiar to many - Trinity and St. Paul's Churches, the Stock Exchange - and places I'd likely not learn about on my own - the old Bowling Green, sites of early businesses and homesteads, and the narrow streets (reminiscent of old London) and original shorelines of the lower isalnd. It's good to know and remember the part that the community and landscape of New York City played in the confusing and pivotal times surrounding the Revolution. |

Great historical view of what lower manhattan was like just before and during the revolutionary war! Would highly recommend this to anyone interested in the area's history. I was with my husband, 19 year old daughter and 16 year old son and we all enjoyed it.
Karen, our tour guide was great and very knowledgeable, not only about the history of the area, but about New York in general. |

Karen offers a fun, easily walkable tour of the lower parts of Manhatten as they relate to NYC's role leading up to and during the American Revolution. The pace is relaxed. The content is informative and enjoyable. Too often, NYC's important place in America's movement for independence is overshadowed by other cities, like Boston, that have better preserved buildings from that era. Sadly, not many colonial landmarks survive in NYC, but this tour visits many that do. Even where no period structures remain, Karen does a good job of showing what was there and what happened there. Karen's delivery is energetic and clear. She peppers her walking comentary with especially informative and enjoyable copies of articles, cartoons and placards published in NYC at the time. You really get a feel for what the city was thinking about, talking about and arguing about through those timultuous times. If you are a history buff or if you want to become one, you would really enjoy this tour. |

We did the things tourists usually do in NY - Broadway show, museums, restaurants - but our Revolutionary Era Walking Tour was easily the highlight of the trip. Beautiful weather and a small turnout on Memorial Day - our group of 3 was it - contributed to the experience, but it was mostly due our guide, Karen. She was friendly, entertaining, enthusiastic, and possessed a deep knowledge of the subject matter. |

This was our first trip to NYC and I am a big history fan so I planned this tour for our second day. I had read the other reviews when booking so was really looking forward to this. Karen was amazing!! Her knowledge and use of illustrations during the tour really brought history alive. This was one of the big highlights of our trip. I highly recommend the tour and Karen is a fantastic guide. The pace was just right. |
