Karen explained that her goal is to know more about the Revolutionary-era history of lower Manhattan than anyone else, and she is well on her way (if she isn't there already!) Instead of simply pointing and spouting facts and figures, Karen stops and explains with depth and understanding the how, why, who and what, focusing on essential, yet often overlooked, elements that lead the colonies to fight for their freedom from England. Karen is easy-going, enthusiastic and confident. It was a pleasure to spend 2-1/2 hours with her.

Very intelligent, knowledgeable and articulate guide. The more you know about the revolutionary war history, the more interesting the tour will likely be. Provides interesting background not inly into the history, but the politics and lifestyle of the time. Also provides insight into modern New York, its state flag, street names, institutions and symbols.

Our guide was an enthusiastic booster for NYC and clearly loved the subject. I was particularly impressed when she took us down along Pearl and Water streets and showed us where the east river shoreline *used* to be, exhorting us to imagine battles and trade from long-ago eras. I've already enthusiastically recommended this tour to friends and will almost certainly be taking her civil war history tour in the next six months. Thanks!

BEST TOUR EVER!

My family and I (parents in their 50s, children in their 20s) took this tour the day after Thanksgiving. Even my brother, who has absolutely no interest in history, LOVED this tour. It was captivating and the tour guide had tons of information. The best part was that she was not too cheesy or falsely enthusiastic, which is how most tour guides seem. My family can't wait to go on another tour.

This tour really opened to my eyes to some surprising historical insights as to what happened right in my neighborhood back in the Revolutionary War times. Locals should really take the time to learn of out area's historical signifigance.

My husband and I loved this tour. We learned so much about NYC and our revolutionary war history. We saw so many treasures that we would never have seen on our own and she really brought everything to life with stories about fascinating individuals and historical landmarks. We would recommend this to anyone. Our intrepid tour guide didn't short us a bit despite our being in the midst of a mild nor'easter!

This is a great walking tour of downtown Manhattan, especially if you are a history buff. Our tour guide was Karen--she was friendly, informative, and enthusiastic about her subject matter. She is full of anecdotes, stories, and history that I guarantee you never learned in your history classes! All in all, I would highly recommend this tour for anyone hoping to walk the streets of colonial and revolutionary New York City--you're in for a treat!
