Site selection was fantastic; the narrative was well-researched and coherent; the presentation was first-rate. The guide interacted with the group as a whole as well as with the members on an individual basis, was enthusiastic and super-friendly, readily answered all questions. I finished the tour wanting to see more and learn more. Thank you!. |

I've been to NYC as a tourist about 8 times, and wanted to experience something different this time. This is exactly what I got - a chance to get really under the skin of the city. I learnt lots I'd had no idea about before, and put the rest of NY really into context.
The pace was just right - enough time to see everything but not dawdling either.
The guide really knew her subject and New York.
The group was small enough to feel like friends being shown around, not like tourists. And the guide could answer every question we threw at her.
Highly recommended - I'll definitely be doing another Patriot Tour when I'm back in NY next year. |

this was one of the most enjoyable mornings I have had in a long time.
Karen is very well prepared with the background, and history, of New York, during the Revolutionary Era.
I am fairly familiar with lower Manhatten, but I learned a lot more.
This is a very rewarding activity, and I have already recommended the tour to several of my friends, and business associates.
Keep up the Great work. |

We learned so much, which says a lot for two people who grew up in the New York City area. Karen, the tour leader, knew her stuff and was HIGHLY informative and we look forward to taking her other tours.
We highly recommend Patriot Tours! |

Very passionate account of early American history with interesting antidotes and practical application into today's culture. Although it was a cold day to be on a walking tour, we enjoyed the experience so much that we will do this again when in New York. We were in a small group and had the opportunity to interact and actively participate in the tour. This was a highlight of our trip! |

I found this tour to be pretty much exactly what it was advertised. The guide was able to give in depth history on the sites where we stopped and answer most of the questions posed. I never felt rushed or hurried. The tour was able to give me a good sense of what the area might have looked like during the time focused on. |

We had such a great time on the Revolutionary walking tour. Having lived in NY all of my life it was fun to step back into time and learn the history of NY during the American Revolution. The tour leader was not only extremely informative she was a fantastic storyteller and captivated the group as she recounted historical events, anecdotes and helped to put you in the mindset of the folks living during revolutionary times. |

My wife and I took three tours on this trip to New York. This tour we took on Monday, April 3, 2006. All three were good, however, this tour was extraordinary. The knowledge and personality of the tour guide set this tour apart from the other two. She was focused on the theme of the tour and was not distracted by the all the activity around downtown New York. Although she did mention the effects of the loss associated with the Trade Center, she did not focus on it. She focused on the history of New York City, particularly with regard to the Revolutionary War period. It was evident that she was passionate about this era of history and was able to demonstrate that passion to those of us who were on the tour. Twice during the tour we were approached by drunks. Both times she was able to diffuse a potentially disruptive event with a minimum of disruption. Overall, this tour was outstanding and I would recommend it to both native New Yorkers and visitors.
