If you like American History, this is an excellent tour. My guide made me feel like I was back in the 1700's, an amazing accomplishment on a weekday, in lower Manhattan.

First, you must enjoy a little history to enjoy this event. I am not a historian nor am I a great student of history, but I did find this to be one of the most interesting strolls through the history of New York that I have every had. It was fascinating and the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about that which she spoke. I found the entire tour exciting. Never once was I "bored" There were many colorful and descriptive stories about the founders, residents and other historical persons of New York. The tour gave us a good understanding about why and how New York became the city it is today. I would highly recommend the walking tour on just about any day of the Spring and Fall. We took the tour in January and it was a little cold. Even so, we were not too disturb by the weather. I could see the summertime being a little challenging for some, also. However, it is a great historical walking tour with many interesting stories that will delight and enlighten everyone.

The guide was very knowledgable and enthusiastic about the subject, with the use of some copies of original maps and documents showing the amount of work and effort put into the tour. An interesting subject brought to life with a guide who was open to all questions about the general area as well as the topic itself.

My parents, husband and I had a wonderful experience on our walking tour! Our tour guide was fantastic and full of great stories. We were all really engaged for the full two and a half hours and then continued our discussion with lunch at Francues Tavern and a trip to the museum at the Tavern. I have lived in New York City for over five years and have even served as a tour guide of Lower Manhattan in past occupations, and still came away with new stories about places and people. This is a great thing to do with visiting relatives!

Karen (tour guide) has a true passion for the local history and does an amazing job sharing the passion and history with everyone. The tour is fun, educational, and very interesting. Having grown up in the area, I learned a tremendous amount. I would recommend this tour to anyone.

This is a really good tour. The lady who runs it has done her research and makes it interesting. If you do it in winter dress for winds.

We were all very interested in participating in this activity but Karen made it very interesting and showed so much enthusiasm that she made us enjoy it even more than we anticipated. We now want to do her other tours as well; but perhaps will do those in warmer weather. I highly recommend that you take one or all of her tours.

In spite of the very "WInter Weather" on the day of our tour, my husband and I felt your tour was one of our NY highlights. Our guide was very knowledge and her abilility to move us through time was exceptional. We will definitely be sharing our experience with all of our friends.

I had my step-father in town, who is interested in history and likes a walk. Having similar interests myself, I thought the Revolutionary Era Walking Tour would fit the bill. I've taken tours in other towns, for similar reasons - it's a good way to get a different view than most guide books could or would give you. So much, however, depends on the person presenting the tour - their knowledge and enthusiasm. I was both pleasantly surprised and very happy with the tour, the depth of knowledge and ability and willingness to present the information that was consistently displayed. I'd recommend this to anyone interested - and plan on taking another tour offered, such as the Civil War Era tour - when the time presents itself.
