| I highly recommend Karen's tour of New York's Civil War sites. Karen has a detailed understanding of the Civil War and the role New York City's financiers and politicians played in that struggle. In addition to taking us to see important locations and buildings, she used copies of contemporary documents to illustrate her talk. If you're in NYC and don't go on a tour with her you will have missed a great opportunity! | ||||||

| Lots and lots of interesting history. Karen was excellent. She gave us ample time to ask questions. My only recommendation would be to have one toilet break. That's the only thing that would make the tour perfect. If you are a history buff, this is a must do event! | ||||||

| Karen is so knowledgeable and eager to give us what we want. She spent extra time with us, answered all of our questions and offered additional information. | My family and I (parents in their 50s, children in their 20s) took this tour the day after Thanksgiving. Even my brother, who has absolutely no interest in history, LOVED this tour. It was captivating and the tour guide had tons of information. The best part was that she was not too cheesy or falsely enthusiastic, which is how most tour guides seem. My family can't wait to go on another tour. | ||||||

| I learned more than just historical facts from this tour. Karen brought New York during the Revolutionary War alive. She made the characters feel like people you could know. I enjoyed the tour so much that I'd take it again. | ||||||

| Karen does a fantastic job of creating the imagery and energy of the time period by not only knowing interesting facts and experiences but by being able to present them in a way that explains the social culture, economics, religious viewpoints, and politics that all drove the Revolution. Having a guide that is so passioinate about the time period and New York sets this tour experience at a completely different level in comparison to other walking tours I have taken in the past. She develops a true educational experience. I took the Civil War tour and highly recommend it also. | ||||||

| Karen did such a nice job of telling, showing, and explaining the history of lower manhattan during the Revolutionary time period. We have been wanting to do a tour like this one for a long time and am so happy that we finally did it! I cant wait for next year! I think we will try the Civil War tour next! | ||||||

| Our tour guide was friendly and warm, and exhibited deep knowledge of the time period. Her enthusiasm was contageous, and it was fun to learn obscure facts about the area and the revolution. It was definitely one of the best tours I've ever taken. | ||||||

| This tour really opened to my eyes to some surprising historical insights as to what happened right in my neighborhood back in the Revolutionary War times. Locals should really take the time to learn of out area's historical signifigance. | ||||||

| We were a small group of just four people. My Mom and I and a couple from Michigan. We were all history buffs and appreciated Karen's willingness to be flexible and work in some of the non-Civil War related history of lower Manhattan as it occured to her, and to us. I would recommend this tour to others. | ||||||

| My husband and I loved this tour. We learned so much about NYC and our revolutionary war history. We saw so many treasures that we would never have seen on our own and she really brought everything to life with stories about fascinating individuals and historical landmarks. We would recommend this to anyone. Our intrepid tour guide didn't short us a bit despite our being in the midst of a mild nor'easter! | ||||||
