What a wonderful experience. Our tour guide was fabulous. She had such an understanding of the events that made the citizens declare their independence and what happened during the war. You could tell she is truly passionate about this era and was able to explain it in such an enjoyable way. I would recommend this tour to anyone that has an interest in New York's revolutionary history.

The Revolutionary Era Walking Tour was the highlight of our trip. The guide was extremely knowledgeable about history and is obviously very passionate about this era and New York CIty. The tour made New York CIty come alive for us.

Wonderful Tour

We enjoyed our tour very much! As luck would have it, just my mother, myself, and my 11 year old son were on the tour that day, so we got a lovely personal experience. Karen adjusted things to fit our needs but didn't skimp one bit because there were so few of us. We all, with three very different levels of knowledge (from several years of graduate level history education to recent fifth grader), felt we learned a lot. The best recommendation I can give is that at the end of almost two and a half hours, my 11 year old said "it's over? That felt like half an hour!"

Our family has been studying the Revolutionary War for our past two vacations. This tour (given by Karen) was amazing! The level of detail and information she provided took us back in time so we could picture what NYC looked like and who was doing what at the time. We highly recommend this tour; it was without a doubt the highlight of our trip to NYC. Thank you Karen!! :)

My husband and I have been to NYC many times visiting our daughter. We had already taken advantage of most expected tourist attractions as well as several historical sites. This last visit I was looking for something to do which my husband and I might both enjoy; The Revolutionary Walking Tour of Patriot Tours was that perfect something! We both thought we were fairly educated in early American history but Wow, we sure learned quite a bit more. Our historian and guide, Karen, was truly amazing. She took us on a 2 1/2 hour walk, twisting and turning through lower Manhattan making many, many stops at exsiting historical sites or just stopping at a street corner and asking us to picture what it would have looked like in the 1770's. Not only did Karen give historically descriptive commentaries, she also carried an arm load of visual aides. I'm not going to mention all the history I learned about NYC during revolutionary times, because I don't want to spoil it for anyone planning to take this tour. Let just say this, the Revolutionary tour is a perfect way to spend a couple of hours in NYC, you're outside, your walking (not fast), you're learning, what could be better? I will happily recommend this tour to anyone who wants the enjoyably unique NYC experience. Kudos to Karen for giving us an educational experience we won't forget! Christine.

Didnt get to even get to do the tour

I definitely will not be recommending this tour to others. I had 2 tickets for this Saturday, May 3rd at 12pm. There was a lot of traffic in NYC on Saturday due to early street closures for the upcoming Met Gala, so while my 68-year-old father and I were stuck in a cab we called the number provided to us on the ticket (to be used in the event that you were running late) to let the tour guide know we would be about 20 minutes late and she was very rude and told us she waits for nobody and when we asked her where she would be about 20-30 minutes into the tour and she said she had no clue and that we would just need to walk around Broadway looking for her. We went to Broadway and searched but did not find her (considering it is a HUGE avenue). We tried calling her again but got no answer so we gave up because we did not want to spend the day searching for a tour guide on the street. If she does the tour constantly how does she not even have an idea where she will be 20-30 minutes into the tour? She clearly just didn't want to waste time assisting my Vietnam veteran father in attending this tour. Highly disappointed and will not be using this service again. Rande

Karen is engaging, and does a great job of bringing the colonial and revolutionary era of New York to life. Even though it was a cold and rainy day, everyone was enthralled with her stories even my teenage daughters

Karen, our tour guide, really made the colonial time period come alive for us - presenting historical facts about the key figures and events which took place in New York City at the time in a very exciting and relatable manner. Karen kept the tour moving while allowing time for interesting peripheral discussion with the group. It was a wonderful experience which I highly recommend!
