| The Revolutionary Era tour was of personal interest because of my own long-ago family ties to the city of that era, but, even beyond that, the narrative was informative, told with humor and illustrated with documents and newspapers from the Revolutionary era. The stroll through lower Manhattan took in places familiar to many - Trinity and St. Paul's Churches, the Stock Exchange - and places I'd likely not learn about on my own - the old Bowling Green, sites of early businesses and homesteads, and the narrow streets (reminiscent of old London) and original shorelines of the lower isalnd. It's good to know and remember the part that the community and landscape of New York City played in the confusing and pivotal times surrounding the Revolution. | ||||||

| Having been on several walking tours that covered the Revolutionary Era in Lower Mahhattan, my hat off is off to the Patriot Tours version of this tour. While all the other tours I've been on ranged from commendable to excellent, the Patriot Tours tour was the best in that it provided the most depth of this era in NYC history and the guide was the most knowledgeable about this time period. Not only did she provide specific details about each site we stopped at along the tour but she also offered extremely interesting additional details as well, which indicated that she was well versed and well read in NYC history during the Revolutionary War era. I would highly recommended this tour to anyone who wants to know all the key facts and anecdotes, well known and not so well known, about the Revolutionary Era in New York City. | ||||||

| My husband chose the Revolutionary War Walking tour as a way to enjoy our free afternoon in NY. I wasn't sure it would be as much fun for me, but decided to go along. This tour turned out to be so detailed and interesting that I had as much or more fun than my husband did. The facts that the tour guide presented were not dry , boring statistics. She had fully researched her talk and included many intimate little verbal portraits of how life was during the 1700's. She also had illustrations and maps to show us how NY looked at the time. I had never even considered what NY looked like before it was NY. The tour ended up being nearly 3 hours due to the thoroughness of the information given at each of the sites we visited. The actual walking was not strenuous and we even got to sit for a while at one location. We plan to schedule a day for the Civil War tour given by this same guide as I anticipate another afternoon of exciting facts and good conversation with her. She really knows her stuff. Highly recommend this to both history buffs and those, like myself, who have forgotten more than we ever knew. about the Revolutionary War. ( thanks the Mailman family.) | ||||||

| Excellent walk. Guild knew her stuff and answered everyones questions. Would highly recommend this walk to anyone interested in history and seeing more of NYC than expected. After the walk, Battery Park was very interesting place to spend a couple of hours relaxing or with the vendors. | ||||||

| My husband and I have been on dozens of walking tours in European and Asian cities. We both agreed this was one of the best. Karen's enthusiasm and knowledge supported by visuals was superb. We thought a two and a half hour tour would be long but the time flew by. Understanding history in the context of the city was so insightful. This tour is a special treat not to be missed. | ||||||

| The Civil War Walking Tour was very enjoyable and informative. The guide was articulate and knowledgeable, and our group was small. It was a nice change of pace from the normal touristy things to do in New York like riding the double-decker tourist buses. I would rate the tour even higher for history buffs. | ||||||

| My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the Revolutionary War tour of lower Manhattan. Karen, the guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. She fielded all questions and embellished the answers with more information. I would recommend this tour to all age levels since American History is a forgotten course in school and we can all learn from Washington's unassuming leadership style. | ||||||

| We were looking for a walking tour that covered a rarely detailed part of Manhattan, the Civil War period. We were particularly interested in the rise and fall of the Five Points area. Our guide, Karen, was on time and armed with articles and pictures describing the time period. She was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. All important points were covered and highlighted with facts, figures and delicious gossip. From world renowned monuments to obscure spots, Karen covered them all with the passion of a person who loves the history of this amazing metropolis. This was truly a great way to spend a couple of hours learning and being amazed. I can't wait to go back for the Revolutionary War tour. Without a doubt one of the best entertainment investments you can make in the entertainment capital of the world. | ||||||
