| We were two couples from Minnesota and had a great time. It's wonderful to walk the city with a guide who is bursting with knowledge--not just someone who knows the script. So we couldn't be more positive. Whether you love history or not, there was a lot there for you. My one suggestion: my legs aren't as good as the guides. Three hours without sitting is too much for me. With a little planning, she could find places for people on the tour to sit occasionally while she talks. Not to sit and waste time, just to sit as she talks. I found them for myself. But there where steps to sit on, benches to sit on, etc. She's so enthusiastic about what she describing, I don't think this crosses her mind. If she just went to each of the locations and looked around for a moment, there are places where people could sit as she talks. It was great. We'll recommend it to friends. | ||||||

Passionate About History

| It's such a joy to witness someone as passionate about history as Karen. Also, she is quite knowledgeable of all the various factors which lead to the War Between the States. This is most refreshing to hear as the current simplistic version equates South with bad and North with good. Her tour is quite a bit more invigorating than the usual two hours spent combing a museum. | ||||||

| Karen was a great guide. She has done lots of research about the Revolutionary War era in NYC and tells stories in an interesting and personalized way. Many times we felt as though we were hearing the actual words of the men she was speaking about. I would recommend her highly and go on the architectural tour she said she was planning to start giving soon. | ||||||

| Our guide was so very knowledgeable of the Revolutionary War and the involvement of the local citizens in the era before, during and after the War. She helped us picture how the area would have looked at that time and how that affected the local battles. Our guide really transported us back in time. We enjoyed the personal attention and I am not even sure how many blocks we walked but it was not difficult at all. | ||||||

| The tour guide from Patriot Tours was extremely good at what she did. She made history come alive for us as we walked among the many sites NYC has from the Revolutionary War. It was a cold and rainy day in June so she also tried to spend as much time as possible inside buildings (such as Saint Paul's Cathedral) to allow us to warm up between jaunts. I would whole-heartedly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see a side of New York City you won't get from a tour bus. | ||||||

| My wife and I booked this tour and are glad we did! Karen is a wonderful guide and in very short order you realize she REALLY knows her history! She took the time to answer any questions and made us feel as if we'd been friends for years. Anyone interested in historical New York must take this tour! | ||||||
