| Both my son (25 and working in NYC) and I (his visiting mom) really enjoyed this tour. Karen brought alive Lower Manhattan during the Revolutionary War and the years not only leading up to it, but the years of Dutch settlement as well. Now I know that Water Street was so named because it was once a shore line street and Pearl Street got it's name because oyster shells were harvested along its shore. And Wall Street ... well, you can guess. Go take the tour and enjoy! | ||||||

| We saw 3 Broadway shows and ate at 3 fine restaurants, but our tour is what we continue to talk about! It was fascinating, fun and gave us such great information. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and we are already looking forward to next year to go on the Civil War tour! | ||||||

| I have been to New York City many times growing up, but I have never been able to see it the way I did during our walking tour! It was a rainy, crappy day, but the tour was great! It was a small group of us, which made it better to interact with our guide, Karen. And she knew SO much about the city (even the best places to stay dry during the tour)! It was really cool to walk the older Colonial streets, and see the buildings that have stood through so much! You can forget just how much history has occured on that little island - but you really get to see it first hand when you walk through it like this. My husband and I had a terrific time. We are history lovers anyway, but I think anyone would enjoy this tour. Just bring your walking shoes!!! | ||||||

| I called and asked if I could postpone our tour. We had to return to Westchester to a sick child. No one returned my phone call. I am disappointed. Valerie Malsch | ||||||

| Very interesting tour. Karen described the history so you could picture in your mind how the area looked. We learned about many real people from that area and it made the history come alive. Looking forward to her history of the achitecture of NY tour! She has done hours of research and really knows her stuff. | ||||||

| This was a fantastic tour. I learned a lot. Our guide was full of interesting stories and was obviously very well-read re: New York history. A great way to spend an afternoon for visitors and residents alike! | ||||||

| This is a great tour for locals and tourists. Karen is extremely knowledgeable about the era and history of NYC in general! This tour is best suited for UK and US tourists or NYC locals since the tour traces US revolutionary history through lower Manhattan. I really enjoyed the tour--and although I'm American my English husband and friend enjoyed it immensely as well. | ||||||

| Our guide, Karen, was extremely knowledgeable. She made the Revolution come alive with the stories of the famous and not-so-famous New Yorkers who played a part in our Nation’s early history. | ||||||

| I thought the tour was really informative. I learned a lot about people important to the Revolution that I didn't know about before. I thought the guide was really knowledgeable and able to talk off prompt about questions regarding other events happening at the time. I thought the pictures were helpful in imagining the surroundings of 250 years ago. The only thing I thought was not good was the fact that we couldn't see more of the cemetery at St. Paul's. We really only saw one grave. Also the graveyard at Trinity Church is closed on Saturdays, so we couldn't walk around there either. Also, there wasn't much time or places to sit down when we were walking. My legs got tired just from standing for 2 hours. | ||||||

| Our tour guide Karen was well-spoken, informed and enthusiastic. It was a bitterly cold day but she didn't flag once, take shortcuts, complain or make excuses, yet she always had our comfort and questions and interests foremost in her mind. The tour truly was substantive and was well-worth the cost. Karen alone was worth her weight in gold! We were so impressed on all counts, having taken similar tours in the past that proved to be superficial, and more conventionally touristy. This was a substantive and entertaining walking tour, we learned a great deal and saw a side of New York that will truly be well and fondly remembered. Thank you so much! | ||||||

| If you like American History, this is an excellent tour. My guide made me feel like I was back in the 1700's, an amazing accomplishment on a weekday, in lower Manhattan. | ||||||

| My parents, husband and I had a wonderful experience on our walking tour! Our tour guide was fantastic and full of great stories. We were all really engaged for the full two and a half hours and then continued our discussion with lunch at Francues Tavern and a trip to the museum at the Tavern. I have lived in New York City for over five years and have even served as a tour guide of Lower Manhattan in past occupations, and still came away with new stories about places and people. This is a great thing to do with visiting relatives! | ||||||

| This is a really good tour. The lady who runs it has done her research and makes it interesting. If you do it in winter dress for winds. | ||||||

| We were all very interested in participating in this activity but Karen made it very interesting and showed so much enthusiasm that she made us enjoy it even more than we anticipated. We now want to do her other tours as well; but perhaps will do those in warmer weather. I highly recommend that you take one or all of her tours. | ||||||
