this tour is not for young children, as there is a lot of walking and standing. our guide was extremely knowledgeable and able to answer any questions we had. i am not even a revolutionary war buff, but found it interesting and entertaining. she was fabulous and sharp as a tack! really knows her stuff and is like every guide should be.

My tour of New York's Revolutionary War sites was completely enjoyable. Karen, the tour leader, was both knowledgeable and entertaining. She made the past filter through the modern hubhub that is a Saturday in Manhattan. I have toured Civil War and Revolutionary battlefields with some of the best guides in the nation, and I would rate this tour up with any of those. You will completely enjoy the experience.

Last year I took Patriot Tours' Revolutionary War Tour and loved it. Last week I took the Civil War Era Tour and it was great too. Karen really knows her stuff. The tour was full of entertaining anecdotes and she painted a picture of 19th century New York that made Lower Manhattan come alive for me. As far as I am concerned, this is a must-do for both travellers and New Yorkers alike. I can't wait for Karen to come up with her next tour.

I found this tour fun and done in an untraditional

In school, I studied History because I had to. Nancy did a fantastic job putting together the Revolutionary war with the prominent names we are all familiar with but more importantly she told the untold history in an exciting story format with a cast of people I knew little or nothing about. Allot of surprises. If I had her as a professor, I would have changed my major. I can not say enough about Nancy and hoe much enthusiasm she has, and the excitement she brings. She is a great communicator and story teller. I was never bored and surprised at the thing I did not know and how interesting NY played during this time period. I would HIGHLY recommend, and in this economic environment it is a great way for all members of the family or visitors to NY spend a couple of fun hours!

My wife and I decided to visit Manhattan and our twenty-something daughter who lives there for the day. On the spur of the moment we decided to take the walking tour which we found on line. We couldn't have been more impressed and pleased with the tour. Our guide, Karen, was incredibly well informed and informative about the revolutionary history of NYC. We all had a great time.

Karen does a fantastic job of creating the imagery and energy of the time period by not only knowing interesting facts and experiences but by being able to present them in a way that explains the social culture, economics, religious viewpoints, and politics that all drove the Revolution. Having a guide that is so passioinate about the time period and New York sets this tour experience at a completely different level in comparison to other walking tours I have taken in the past. She develops a true educational experience. I took the Civil War tour and highly recommend it also.

The guide was genuinely friendly, the meeting location was easy to find and get to and the tour was really informative. The 2.5 hours was well worth it. We arranged the tour for the day after arrival. It was great to stretch our legs and get a feel for lower Manhattan layout. A lot of information about the Rev War was shared and as we continued our traveling thruout the state we could tie information that was provided us in the tour with other information along our Hudson driving route, into Albany and even so far as the Erie Canal area.

We would highly recommend this tour. It was fun, informative, and well presented. She was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The only thing to be aware of is time. Our tour took 3 hours, though it was time well spent. Maybe our tour went long because we asked so many questions.

My dad, my 16 year old son, and I took the Revolutionary Tour this past Thursday (4/05/07). We were very impressed with how knowledgeable our tour guide, Karen, was on the history of New York during this time period. Her passion and enthusiasm came through. A wonderful experience, and very enjoyable. We learned a lot. Since Karen has actually worked in this area of New York, she was able to relate the history of New York with some of the current events since 9/11. I especially appreciated the e-mail communication prior to the tour. Very quick turn around on all my questions, etc. Excellent tour. I would highly recommend to anyone interested in Revolutionary Era history and points of interest in lower Manhattan

My family and I have taken many historical tours in different parts of the USA and this by far was one of the best. The reason was that the tour guide, Karen, was not only very knowledgeable but also passionate about history. The tour was listed as taking 2 1/2 hours and actually lasted 3 hours. The 3 hours flew by and we would have enjoyed listening to Karen for another 3 hours. Our 14 year old son said he also enjoyed the tour and learned great a deal. I recommend this tour to anyone interested in American History.

THIS IS A TOUR I WOULD RECOMMEND IF YOU HAVE AN INTEREST IN LEARNING ABOUT THE PLAYERS AND PLACES IN 18TH CENTURY MANHATTAN. YOUR GUIDE MAKES HISTORY COME ALIVE IN AN ENGAGING WAY. THE THREE AND A HALF HOUR WALKING TOUR IS PACKED WITH INFORMATION. WEAR A REALLY COMFORTABLE PAIR OF SHOES AND BRING A CAMERA. ENJOY THE TOUR.

Karen was fabulous, it was like going on a tour with a history professor. She knew everything, not just about New York, but about the revolutionary war and how it related to early Manhattan. My husband and I are amateur revolutionary war buffs, but we learned so much on this tour. We highly highly recommend it to anyone who has any interest at all in history. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, answered all our questions with enthusiasm, was pleasant and friendly. It really was one of the highlights of our New York visit!
