| A very knowledgeable guide made our tour extremely informative. Personalized to our interests and knowledge on the topic as well. Our guide was very pleasant and made it interesting despite sprinkles of rain. We kept moving and saw a great deal. Well worth it. | ||||||

| This walking tour of Revolutionary NYC was a delight! Our guide was well informed of both well-known and obscure people in the period from 1765 to 1797 on Manhattan island. Her enthusiastic presentation displayed her love of the subject matter. Whenever applicable, she was able to cite the primary documents. We learned of the early workings of the Sons of Liberty in the context of New York's constant factional in-fighting, shedding light on why the New York assembly was so hesitant to come out for independence. Another highlight was learning of the battle of Brooklyn and the occupation of New York by the British, including Washington's spy ring. In all, it was terrific to hear the personalities of an epic time in US history come to life, warts and all in the places that they walked. I enthusiastically recommend this tour. | ||||||

| Karen was a great tour guide, and knew much more than she could cover in a 3 hour tour. The only drawback was that the tour took nearly 3 hours, which was a little long for my kids. | ||||||

| I thoroughly enjoyed this tour, and saw much more of lower manhatten than I ever had before. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and shared the information in a very enthusiastic and amiable manner. | ||||||

The Rudest Tour Guide(owner) Ever!

| It took us 30 minutes to find the meeting place - the NYC Police couldn't figure it out either, but eventually we stumbled on the location. We expressed our difficulties finding the meeting place, and several others in the group expressed similar concerns. Then the Owner/Tour guide said the directions were "easy to understand," but we and others noted that they were not, and those of us who speak English as a second language had particular difficulty with following them (not to mention the cab driver, MTA employee, and the traffic police officer). She actually told us that maybe we should just get our money back since we wouldn't understand the tour anyhow since we couldn't understand the directions to find the meeting spot ... since English was not our first language and we were not able to follow her perfect instructions. Apparently, those of us whose first language is not English are too stupid to participate in this activity. We decided to give her a chance to redeem herself, but she continued to be rude during the tour and probably worse, the majority of her content was not civil war era information. We paid for a civil war era history tour, but instead more than 50% of the information she presented pertained to after 1900 and much of it regarded architecture. We left during the last 15 minutes because the rudeness directed at us never let up. BTW, I am a retired American history professor . This tour guide/owner needs to work on her civil war information, customer service orientation, and manners. | ||||||

| this was one of the most enjoyable mornings I have had in a long time. Karen is very well prepared with the background, and history, of New York, during the Revolutionary Era. I am fairly familiar with lower Manhatten, but I learned a lot more. This is a very rewarding activity, and I have already recommended the tour to several of my friends, and business associates. Keep up the Great work. | ||||||

| We learned so much, which says a lot for two people who grew up in the New York City area. Karen, the tour leader, knew her stuff and was HIGHLY informative and we look forward to taking her other tours. We highly recommend Patriot Tours! | ||||||

| I certainly enjoyed my Civil War Walking Tour. My guide was very informative and friendly. I liked that she had pictures and newspaper articles from the era we were discussing as they made everything much clearer in regards to the demographics of that time and the present. I would highly recommend this tour to other Civil War buffs, and I plan to take her Revolutionary War tour if I return in the future. | ||||||

| I found this tour to be pretty much exactly what it was advertised. The guide was able to give in depth history on the sites where we stopped and answer most of the questions posed. I never felt rushed or hurried. The tour was able to give me a good sense of what the area might have looked like during the time focused on. | ||||||

| We had such a great time on the Revolutionary walking tour. Having lived in NY all of my life it was fun to step back into time and learn the history of NY during the American Revolution. The tour leader was not only extremely informative she was a fantastic storyteller and captivated the group as she recounted historical events, anecdotes and helped to put you in the mindset of the folks living during revolutionary times. | ||||||

Outstanding Tour Guide

| My wife and I took three tours on this trip to New York. This tour we took on Monday, April 3, 2006. All three were good, however, this tour was extraordinary. The knowledge and personality of the tour guide set this tour apart from the other two. She was focused on the theme of the tour and was not distracted by the all the activity around downtown New York. Although she did mention the effects of the loss associated with the Trade Center, she did not focus on it. She focused on the history of New York City, particularly with regard to the Revolutionary War period. It was evident that she was passionate about this era of history and was able to demonstrate that passion to those of us who were on the tour. Twice during the tour we were approached by drunks. Both times she was able to diffuse a potentially disruptive event with a minimum of disruption. Overall, this tour was outstanding and I would recommend it to both native New Yorkers and visitors. | ||||||
