| Pleasant and informative tour led by a polite, prepared, and knowledgable guide. I was part of a small group, which allowed for frequent interaction between attendees and guide. A nice mix of topics were dicussed including street life, architecture, landfill history, local biographies, treatment of prisoners, and escape tactics from Brooklyn Heights. All my questions and comments were addressed quite satisfactorily. Enthusiastically recommended! | ||||||

| I highly recommend this tour. The tourguide was enthusiastic and highly knowledgeable. I really got a feel for the time through her stories that she told as we walked between the landmarks and historical sites. I also really liked the pictures that she carried - they helped me to visualize the era. | ||||||

| I was very encouraged when I read that there was so much history in New York, and realized that there was much I did not know. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and energetic, and organized her tour as more of a "storytelling" experieince. Which made it interesting, easy to follow and understand. Walking through the streets as she shared the sights and stories of that time in history helped you visualize what it was like back then and how important the events were to forming the country. I was fortunate in the fact that there were only 2 of us on the group that day, so it was very personalized. Our tour guide encouraged questions, and keep us going at a comfortable pace. The time just saled by. Also, our guide spent some time at the end of our tour giving us some tips and suggestions that we might enjoy while in the city, which was very kind. Overall, I would recommend this tour....history buff or not. It is interesting to see NY through the "Revolutionary Years", because it gives you a more vast perspective and view of the city which helps you appreciate it's contribution and how it helped shape our nation. | ||||||

| I may have known at one time but certainly forgot the important role of NYC in our history and the Revolutionary War. This tour jogs your memory with forgotten names, dates and events with the added benefit of being on the spot or near where it happened. Events come alive amid the hustle/bustle of NY. Karen is an excellent guide; able to answer all the questions and keep to the subject. One thing I realized from this and two other walking tours I took is the enormous pride New Yorkers have in their city and its history. | ||||||

| If you love history or just want to learn more about lower Manhattan in the 1700s, take this tour! Karen, our tour guide, was a walking encyclopedia of facts, names, dates, and events, all woven into very interesting stories. To see the old buildings still standing was incredible. Take this tour! You walk slowly and stop often. I can't wait to take another one! | ||||||

| This isn't so much a walking tour as it is a stand-at-the-place-the-event happened tour. So don't be afraid of the walking! Karen (tour guide) is a plethora of Revolutionary War facts. She makes it fun, interesting, and exciting. We were amazed at her knowledge. If you are a fan of George Washington, Ben Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, etc., etc., you will love this tour. Learn what a large part New York played in the war, and imagine what Manhattan looked like 225 years ago. She loved questions and engaging in and exchanging Revolutionary War stories and facts with the tourists. | ||||||

| I have studied the American Revolution extensively and was absolutely delighted with the tour and my tour guide Karen. I was very impressed not only with her knowledge, but her ability to bring 18th century New York to life out of the concrete jungle which is modern day lower Manhattan. While the tour itself was excellent and thoroughly enjoyable, I was most impressed by Karen's offer to discuss the time period in depth after the tour was over. Due to my almost fanatical interest in the American Founding I had many questions which would have seemed uninteresting to the average tour-goer, but her willingness to discuss the time period on a deeper level with me was the highlight of my trip to New York. | ||||||

| As educators and historians from Illinois in NYC for the OAH (Organization of American Historians) annual conference, we had booked the Revolutionary Era Walking Tour on a whim, thinking it would be interesting to experience historic lower Manhattan. Our guide was incredible! Full of wonderful anecdotes and fantastic with facts, characters and events, Karen led us on a three-hour journey back in time. Our only regret is that we didn't have time to take the Civil War tour she was offering the next day!! We will have to go back for that!! | ||||||

THE THREE AND A HALF HOUR WALKING TOUR IS PACKED WITH INFORMATION. WEAR A REALLY COMFORTABLE PAIR OF SHOES AND BRING A CAMERA. ENJOY THE TOUR. | ||||||

| The guide was very knowledgeable, with documents and pictures to back up her material. She obviously loved her subject and she made the time period come to life. She should write a book about New York during the Revolutionary period! | ||||||

| The tour far exceeded my expectations. Karen, the guide, had a vast storehouse of knowledge about the topic, answered questions readily, and took the time to explain things. She cross-referenced several sites that we would see the following day on the Revolutionary War tour. Clearly, she continues to build upon her knowledge by researching historical documents and sites to learn as much as she can on the subject matter. The two hours passed quickly and as we left, we were anticipating what we might learn the next day's tour. | ||||||
